The Help and Training Centre This quick start is exactly what it says. For more information on all aspects of the platform, go to the Help and Training Centre, by clicking here from any page.

Let’s Learn English - administrator Getting started This is where you log in

Summary screen This is your default first page. It gives you an “at a glance” summary of your school. From here, you can add students and teachers, check on the progress of students, and communicate with students and staff

The dashboard From any page on the Platform, click here to go back to your dashboard.

Your classes Click here to see your classes. Click here to add a new class or edit existing classes.

Adding a new class Complete the details of the class. You can add the teachers and students of the class now or leave it until later.

Your teachers Click here to see your teachers.

Your teachers Add new teachers here. Edit your list of teachers here. Click on a row to see more details about your teachers.

First steps: configure your school Click System. Click Configuration.

First steps: Branding options Click System and Branding Change the colour of the Platform and add your school logo.

Adding students When you have created 1) your classes and 2) your teachers and assigned them to their classes, you can then input your students Add students one at a time here. Add students in bulk via Excel here.

Adding members Log in to the platform as an administrator (not as a teacher or student). You will arrive at your dashboard. You will see a list of subscriptions you have on your account here

Adding members To add an individual student, click here.. Complete the form with as much information as you have. Some boxes are required. Press Save at the bottom of the page

Adding members If you have a large number of students to input at the same time, you should add the information through an Excel file. Click here. You must make sure the numbers of students your upload through Excel fall within your allotted student numbers and durations. (this school has 97 subscriptions for 12 months, 24 subscriptions for 3 months and 13 subscriptions for 6 months). Click here to choose the file

Adding members Complete your Excel file using the headings shown here. Group means class; duration means how long the student will have access to the Platform If you do not wish to/do not have access to a student’s email address, use a made-up one. Note, however, that then the student will not receive email confirmations of homework, notes sent etc.

Adding members When you have chosen your Excel file, the Platform will check it. If there are problems, it will ask you to fix the problems and try again. Adding members If the Excel file has been correctly filled in, you will be asked to confirm. Click Import. We can help you with this procedure if you have any problems.

Updating students If you need to update your students, for example, changing them from one class to another, click here.

Your classes Click here to open the class and see the students in it. Click here to look at one student’s profile.

Student profile Click on Gradebook to see an individual’s grades.

Student gradebook The table gives data on the grade and duration of the exercise. You can also see exactly when the exercise was done. Click on any of the rows to see the exercise the student did.

Grading record You can give feedback on your student’s attempt as well as see the exercise the student did. Click here to see if the student repeated the exercise

The gradebook If you want to see the grades of your students on one page, click here from your dashboard, and choose from the options

Individual student grades Again, you can click on the name of a student to see their grades in more detail.

Checking student access You can quickly check to see whether your students have been using the Platform by clicking on Students and Student Activity from the dashboard.

Checking student access Choose the dates you need to check here, and press the search button. Click here to expand each student’s access record.

Checking teacher access You can also check how often your teachers use the Platform. Again, click here to expand each teacher’s access log.

Checking on platform usage For more statistics regarding platform usage, click on System and choose Activity Log or Platform usage.

Student profile From an individual student’s profile, click here to see the student’s Needs Analysis. Click here to see and create a progress report for the student.

The Communications Centre The Communications Centre is where you can read and send notes to students and teachers, start chat sessions with teachers or students and check and set up homework, meetings and events through the Calendar facility.

Your noticeboard Click on Notices to see what notes have been written to you, or to write a note.

Chat rooms From the Communications Centre, you can also set up a chat with an individual student or with a group. Click on Calendar to arrange homework tasks or schedule meetings and events with your students.

The Study Centre Click on the Study tab to take you to the area where you can select exercises for your students to do, check which exercises can be cross-referenced to what you are doing in a course book, and create your own exercises or courses, using the authoring facility.

Finding materials Choose the level you want to look at and the unit.

Finding materials Each unit has a number. The number is what you should give your students. They then put the number here and press the Search icon to get to their exercise quickly.

What does a unit look like? Most units have five parts; an introduction, and four different exercises

Introductions to units The Introduction gives you the English the student must learn Return to your course, your module or your unit menu here

How to do a proofreading exercise This is a Proofreading exercise. Identify the errors and correct them. Click on a word This tells you that you think is how many incorrect mistakes are in each line

How to do a multiple choice exercise This is a multiple choice exercise. Choose the correct option, A, B, C or D. Click the circle which you think is correct

The authoring studio Let’s Learn English enables you to create your own exercises, units and even courses. Go to Study, and click on Add new unit /course.
