NATIVE AMERICAN MAN AND A CRICKET An old Native American man and his friends visit New York. A group of people in New York welcome them and give them a tour in Times Square. The streets are too crowded. Cars are honking their horns. People are walking fast. The construction machines are working noisily. It is too irritating. An old Native American 4 man says “I hear a cricket.” Everybody is surprised. A man asks “What? There aren’t any crickets in the cities. If so, it is impossible to hear the voice of a cricket in all this noise”. But his American Indian friends approve the old man. The old man insists on “I’m sure. I hear a cricket.” “That’s crazy,” the men answer. The old man begins to listen to sound carefully and walks through the street. He goes pass the high buildings and finds a small bush behind a building. He looks around the bushes and suddenly he finds a cricket. Everybody is amazed.

“But, how?” a man asks. “It’s incredible. How can you hear a cricket in this noisy city? You must have some supernatural powers.” “No,” the old man answers. “I have the same power with you. It all depends on what you’re listening for.” “But we cannot hear it,’’ they state. ‘’You can do it,” the old man says. “It depends on what is important to you. Let me show you.” He pulls a coin out his pocket and drops it on the sidewalk. People in the street hear the voice of the coin and wonder if it is their money. They notice the money quickly and they look 5 at the rolling coin. “Do you understand what I mean?” asks the Old Indian “It depends on what is important to you.
