Tuana is twelve years old. She is going to her new school today and she is very happy. Tuana gets up very early. So she is not late for her first day in school. She takes her shower, brushes her teeth and goes downstairs to have her breakfast. After taking her breakfast, she takes her bag and goes to school with her mother. Her mother takes her to school because it is her first day at school. As she gets out the car, she feels worried, but her mom tells her everything is OK. As she is going into the school, she meets a girl of her age. She says to her ‘Hello’ my name is Tuana and I am a new student here, can you please help me to the principal’s office? The girl says, yes, of course, I can help you. On their way to the office, Tuana asks; what is your name? The girl says to her, my name is Beyza. 4

Text 1 Then, Tuana asks again, are you in elementary school or in secondary school? I am in secondary school, Beyza says. Beyza shows Tuana the principal’s office and goes straight to her class. Tuana knocks the door and the principal asks her to come in. Tuana comes in and the principal says, “It’s you, I am waiting for you, Tuana”. Then, the principal takes her to the class. Tuana enters the class and she sees Beyza sitting on the first line in the class. The principal tells the class that Tuana is their new classmate. Her classmates are nice and kind to her. Tuana then goes to Beyza and says, Nice to meet you again. ‘Then Beyza says to her, Nice to meet you too. After that, Tuana and Beyza are best friends. 5
