Ms. Nanette’s Art Show 2021

My two-toned basket design For the arts and crafts of the Tiruray, I drew a simple open basket with different sized triangles. Straight lines are quite evident in my drawing. While drawing the basket, I used a pencil to show a contrast between black and white. There are also some areas that are shaded. Though I created an abstract design, there is a semblance of harmony and rhythm. I Think the basket I created is somehow asymmetrical.

My Swat San Salah For the B’laan women, wearing of the intricately beaded wooden comb, the Swat San Salah is a must. My Swat San Salah is quite simple but has a variety of colors that follows a certain pattern. Around the fan-shaped Swat San Salah are small strips of white cloth with tiny beads at the end which gives it a bit of texture. The ribbon will be tied on the hair to secure this headdress.

Arts and Crafts of Muslim Mindanao The arts and crafts of the Muslim Mindanao were greatly influenced by our neighboring countries such as Indonesia and Malaysia who had traded with them long before the Spaniards came.
