             Dear Friends:WELCOME to our new monthly newsletter format!  A BIG THANKS to Gil for all of his efforts in making this a reality.  As you are well aware‐‐Gil's \"skill set\" is very deep and impressive to say the least! By utilizing his \"Tech\" skills we are able to enhance our monthly newsletters—THANKS Gil!    As we start the backstretch of this year's season, please join me in conveying our THANKS to Michael Sheely and his staff for successfully maneuvering the weather obstacles which Mother Nature has presented since early June.    Michael will be the first to tell you that he appreciates the timely rains we have received throughout the year.  Unfortunately, the combination of heavy rains, extreme heat and no wind‐‐‐is a formula for disaster and with his expertise and passion‐‐‐we are in extremely good hands.   I hope you are rested as we are offering you a great deal of information and excitement regarding your club on the next few pages

       Adventures in Golf The Open Championship, 2017 – Royal BirkdaleWe hope you enjoyed watching the epic battle for The Open Championship between HenrikStenson and Phil Mickelson at Royal Troon a few weeks ago. If that made you think that isreally something you would like to see in person, then the University of Nebraska AlumniAssociation has just the trip for you. The Alumni Association has partnered with AdventuresIn Golf (represented by ArborLinks member, Rob Banta) to offer a trip (July 19-24, 2017) tothe 2017 Open being held at Royal Birkdale on England’s historic “Golf Coast.” The likes ofArnold Palmer, Johnny Miller, Seve Ballesteros and Tom Watson have won on thiscourse. The trip includes 5 nights lodging in the Albert Dock area of Liverpool, England, tworounds of golf at nearby historic courses and tickets to The Open for the Saturday andSunday rounds; customization of the trip to include more golf or more or fewer days at TheOpen is available. Potpourri  Our \"FALL\" Gourmet Night and Wine tasting is scheduled for Saturday,  November 5th.  Nebraska is at Ohio State...so, we'll start at 5:30 PM so  we can enjoy the game as well!      Short game area‐‐the chipping/putting green has shown strong  improvement in the last 30‐45 days and offers us optimism in opening  this season‐‐we will keep you posted!      We are in the process of \"finalizing a Member survey which we will be  sending to you in the near future.  We want to THANK YOU in advance  for your support and participation.  Our ownership, management and  staff are very interested in your input and we look forward to sharing  the results with you this fall.  We look forward to seeing you very soon.   JP
