King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi Department of Mechanical Engineering MEE 311 Machine Design Class Design Project Term 1, Academic Year 2017Instruction 1. This is the group assignment and there must be more than 8 but no more than 10 students in each group. 2. A report containing design concept, specification, calculation and drawing of each main component must be submitted on the presentation day. The report must be written in English. 3. Each group will present their design on 11th December 2017. The room will be announced again prior to the aforementioned date.Group Design Problem  Each group must design a simple machine of their choice which contains at least 3 main components from the list below.  The design concept, specification and operating condition of the machine as well as the capacity of the power source (such as motor power) must be clearly defined.  The calculation of each main component including every permanent and non-permanent joint and any assumptions must be clearly shown.  The machine must be evaluated by means of motion simulation. The students may use any software such as Motion Analysis module in SolidWorks.  A recommendation for further improvement must also be provided.  An engineering drawing of each main component must be included in the report.
