Precious Memories THE MAN BROTHER MICHAEL 1948-2022 Brother, Friend and Father

Precious Memories THE MAN BROTHER MICHAEL 1948-2022 Brother, Friend and Father

page | 2 | LOOKING AT HIM BEYOND THE CURTAIN OF TIME Before there was an earth, before there was a light, before there was a star, before there was anything. ere is a Great Fountain going forth, of Spirit, and out of this Fountain came the most pure of Love, cause there was nothing for It to come from that but Love. e Logos, and this Great Fountain, this Great Fountain of Spirit which had no beginning or no end, this Great Spirit began to form in the creation, and e Logos that went out from It was the Son of God. It was the only visible Form that the Spirit had. And It was a eophany, which means a Body and the Body was like a Man. Moses saw It when It passed. It's the same type of Body that We receive when We die here 'If this earthly tabernacle be dissolved, we have one already waiting' at was It. And that was the eophany which was the Son of God. at Son, at Logos became flesh, because we were put in flesh. And the eophany, e Logos, became flesh here among Us and I was nothing else but the dwelling place, for at Entire Fountain dwelt in Him. You are called by is and is is what You are and have always been. e manifestation of Jesus Christ. BY BROTHER JOSEPH BENJAMIN ASMAH 1948 | IN LOVING MEMORY OF THE LATE BROTHER MICAEL | 2022

page | 3 | A PRECIOUS BROTHER GOES HOME I feel better now to see you in a better and glorious place as against the days you lied on the sick bed helpless like an eagle that has been greatly wounded. An active soldier who could command with authority, the next moment being assisted to be on his feet. My joy is made whole as I see you join the saints who have gone before us in paradise hollering and shouting “Our Precious Brother, Our Precious Brother”, moving towards Brother Branham who has introduced you to the presence of the almighty God. You shared all that you had with the brethren just to ensure the liberty of his presence. I was checked by your discipline and strictness such that I always have to examine myself very well anytime I come near you. Your position as a Christian and professional soldier impacted greatly on especially the youth thus putting them in the prestigious and enviable positions they are enjoying now. We will quickly find a place to lay your carcass and continue the earthly battle we have been fighting over the years with you. Your presence should strengthen the living Saints. Brother Enoch Smith Koranteng. 1948 | IN LOVING MEMORY OF THE LATE BROTHER MICAEL | 2022

page | 4 | TRIBUTE BY BROTHER OCLOO Shalom brethren, this is my short testimony about my precious brother Michael, he was my senior brother, because my senior brother was called Michael. So my daughter's also treat him as such. When I came to Branham Tabernacle, he is one person who inspired me a lot, whenever he picks for church, then he starts talking, Bro. Ocloo you know, one day you will minister in this church just keep cool. en it came to pass that I was asked to assist him to handle t he youth. ere I learned a lot from him. He is a man of desipline well cultured and sure you dressed well. My precious brother Michael is a man of many parts, if l want to talk about him, I will filled many space. My brother Michael rest in peace and tell all our loved ones we are coming too. Fair thee well, always in our hearts. 1948 | IN LOVING MEMORY OF THE LATE BROTHER MICAEL | 2022

page | 5 | TRIBUTE BY BROTHER EMMANUEL AMAKYE JNR. PASTOR MICHAEL has been a great stepping stone in the life of his youth. He would always make sure that he could do anything he could to help each and every one. He contributed a lot to the welfare of the music in the church. He was so particular on that. He would always make sure he would be at the musician's side at the end of every church service to tell us what went wrong and even commend us when everything went well. He would say a lot to really challenge you to your fullest potential. No one goes behind the guitar and keyboard without Pastor Michael's permission. Cleanliness was always his hallmark. To us the youth, he would come to our houses mostly unannounced to inspect our rooms and to make sure that they were well kept. Decency especially among the young men was what he would always talk about. He would always check for indecent dressing, beards and even unkempt hair. If you were found wanting in any of these areas, he would always give to you a stern talking to and it always compelled us to be on the right track. Such love and care are what we have lost but we hope to see you again. Rest Well Sir. 1948 | IN LOVING MEMORY OF THE LATE BROTHER MICAEL | 2022

page | 6 | TRIBUTE BY MAMA SARAH On behalf of my family, I present this testimony. I got to know him way back when we were having fellowship at Perry Hayford School. My encounter with him revealed some characteristics. He was selfless, courageous, disciplined, generous, supportive and cared about the welfare of everybody. He was very dependable and reliable when entrusted with any responsibility, he was passionate when it came to the work of God. We will fondly remember him for his leadership role in the church. Pastor Michael's home was our second home, where we always ran for shelter whenever there was fire on the mountain. He stood by my family even in the last days of my beloved husband. e two were real brothers, friends, possessed a strong common ethic. We used to call them “the Akatapore (Akat) and the soldier man”. ey're no more with us in the flesh but I know they are with us in the spirit, rejoicing, dancing and singing “Home Sweet Home”. My precious Brother Michael, you asked me to sing for you ooooo….so my farewell song is from the Only Believe Hymn Book no. 14. “Zion's Hill”. Till we meet again, Da yie. 1948 | IN LOVING MEMORY OF THE LATE BROTHER MICAEL | 2022

page | 7 | TRIBUTE BY SISTER GIFTY ASMAH TO MY PRECIOUS “SISTER” BRO MICHAEL Blessed is the day our path first crossed; for you had been a dependable, reliable, sincere, genuine, faithful, trustworthy, selfless, truthful, caring, loving, comforter and an amazing brother and friend ever since. You really made me feel God in the skin wearing soldier uniform. Your love for me and my family was so wonderful and unconditional to the extent that you were at a point misunderstood for preferring my family to your own family. Your home was my home and even sometimes preferred to by my children due to the loving treatment received from you, your wife and children. My family will forever be grateful to God for your life for you have been a great blessing to us. You came into my life about 40years ago when I received the Spoken Word Message and got married to my husband. I was then very young and knew nothing about life but you and your wife, Mama Love accepted me into your fold, held my hand and nurtured me both spiritually and physically. It was you and your wife who introduced me to table top petty trading at Tarkwa, where you would buy the items from Takoradi, do the pricing and send them through then OSA to me at Tarkwa. You would always follow up to ensure I was on track. You and your wife were the brethren guiding me into the natural lifestyle of the Spoken Word. Even when there was a break up, you were the very ones checking on us. My Precious “Sister”, you indeed stood for me, through thick and thin. You never waited to be called on the scene before taking action, you always go ahead of every situation. e discipline and hard work you impacted in my 1948 | IN LOVING MEMORY OF THE LATE BROTHER MICAEL | 2022

page | 8 | children during their infancy and upbringing cannot be understated, you really contributed to who they are today. Your encouragement during my active working years especially when things were rough cannot be matched. Your support during the time when we were putting up our house was so amazing. Even when there was a misunderstanding on our boundary between us and our neighbour, you called for peace and amicable settlement. Your home became the little manger when churches were ordered to quit from fellowshipping from classrooms' you offered me a place of worship where my soul will forever be fed. You handled the youth in the church like an egg or an apple of your eye and made sure they are all in line in discipline, academic and spiritual. Oh my precious “Sister”, you will forever remain in my heart for you are a special gift to me, my family and the church. Your sense of humour and soldier action are already being missed, my “uncultured” Sister. It saddens my heart my heart to recall that what you feared for me was exactly what befell and took you away from us. For about six years when I started experiencing imbalance in my movement, you were so concerned and always cautioning to be extra careful not to fall because that would be disastrous. Not known to me, you had even detailed and commissioned people to keep an eye on me. Sadly, you rather fell and got bed ridden then finally your worst fears for me happened. My precious “Sister” I know you are resting from your labour in your Maker's bossom till we meet again in that glorious morning. Rest on, Sleep well, Shalom. 1948 | IN LOVING MEMORY OF THE LATE BROTHER MICAEL | 2022

page | 9 | TRIBUTE BY SISTER CHARITY AMAKYE A friend, a precious Brother and a Soldier has pass on, PRECIOUS BROTHER MICHAEL, My first encounter with you is about 22 years ago when we met at a convention in Tema where you collected the yoghurt I was eating from me, ate some and gave the rest to me to eat, you told me your name and said you are waiting for me to come to Takoradi, it was a month of my wedding, that is where our friendship started. You were a great pillar in my family and a true friend, you will never speak with me without sharing the word of God with me. Whenever there is a misunderstanding in my home and I call, you will come to my home or you will call us into your home tell us your mind and comfort us after. My children are always with you during their holidays, anytime I am travelling you will keep them till I come back, you were one of kind and a true friend even on your sick bed you were still caring for my family, I have missed you so much my friend. Anytime we close from Church I will go and sit in from of your door waiting to hear your voice, I know you are edging us on with the saints above. Today as we bid you farewell, we say the following words with you “ere's no sleep for me because the sound of the last trumpet is here, I won't stay back or sleep, for the 5th seal has spoken clearly in his revelation of where I am now and what I am doing. 1948 | IN LOVING MEMORY OF THE LATE BROTHER MICAEL | 2022

page | 10 | TRIBUTE BY SISTER ESTHER DAVIS Dear Brother Michael, I would rather speak to you and hold your hand than write you a tribute. When I think about it, I have known you all my life. You have been so supportive and loving, especially since my own father went into eternity. Your absence feels like losing my father for the second time. Once again, I have to say goodbye to a father and console myself with memories. It hurts. Efo Dzagadu, you were more than an associate pastor and brother to us. We remember the love and concern, encouragement, advice and your presence. I know if you could speak to me, your words will be, “do not cry, I am in a better place”, this I know but the tears still flow freely. You were a soldier of Christ and of the message. We who have known you have no option than to be better. We cannot be less. From my siblings and myself, we will miss you, we will remember you. Hen asem nyinara nye d3, Nyankopon mfa wo sie. We shall meet on the resurrection morning and sing our Hallelujah. Forever in our hearts. 1948 | IN LOVING MEMORY OF THE LATE BROTHER MICAEL | 2022

page | 11 | TRIBUTE BY SISTER MEDA TO BROTHER MICHAEL A life well lived need not to be sad about. Your life lived is evidential. Even though your demise has brought some emptiness in our life's, we know with great conviction that you are with your Maker in Heaven looking down upon us with a smile. I was filled with surprise and did not know how to express my emotions when I saw you at my wedding regardless of your condition. You Made it, Brother Michael You Made it and You have Made it. I can't wait to meet you in the bosom of our heavenly father. I still reminisce about those days when we were kids and visited you during vacations and how you always sat us down to teach us about the “Message of Prophet Bro Branham” and sing from the hymnals not forgetting the youth camp meetings we had at your place. You taught us lasting lessons that will never fade. You've been a wonderful person in my life and that of my siblings and you still be even though you are no more…. Words can't represent our deepest emotion and thoughts about how much you meant to us.. A father you have always been and still be. THOSE WHO WALK UPRIGHTLY ENTER INTO PEACE. THEY FIND REST AS THEY LIE IN DEATH. (Isaiah 57:2) “REST IN PERFECT PEACE BROTHER MICHAEL” 1948 | IN LOVING MEMORY OF THE LATE BROTHER MICAEL | 2022

page | 12 | TRIBUTE BY SISTER HOPE Our strong and gallant commander, our beloved superintendent, our youth leader who courageously stood for discipline and had a heart full of love for the young. Old soldier as we so often called you, left an everlasting mark at the heart of Bramham Tabernacle and especially with the youth. Old soldier dealt with us individually, instilling discipline, excellence and urging each of us to achieve higher educational attainments. Old soldier acknowledged and applauded where praises were due and with an iron fist he chastised accordingly. He never minced words and always said things the way it was (buga buga) as he will jokingly put it. For years on end he broke down and brought the Gospel to the level where we the young ones could comprehend. His home was our home, his doors were never closed and he even named it a youth camp. Old soldier shared all he had including his life with us the youth. - Youth of Branham Tabernacle. I remember all the times I spent in his home from military police days, to the store in Takoradi, to mount zion. Old soldier will pick us up from school, to the store to eat akple and Okro before we go home. He always had something to share be it material or words of wisdom. After I married and relocated to Finland he still kept in touch and always called to check up on me and my family. When he got sick and couldn't call he always asked Sister Evelyn to call. He put my name in his popular red book so many times but I'm glad during our last video call he told me that he had pardoned everyone in the red book and it was now empty. Old soldier has and will always be a father to me as we shared so many precious memories. He will truly be missed but I am sure he is waiting for us the youth back in glory. So until then we will keep up the good fight. -Sister-Hope 1948 | IN LOVING MEMORY OF THE LATE BROTHER MICAEL | 2022

TRIBUTE BY page | 13 | PRECIOUS BROTHER BRANHAM Precious memories, how they linger Our commander was the heart of all our young brethren. He knew us all and even with age, he remembered everything that happened in our lives from years ago. So beautiful to sit with him and listen to the stories he would tell of times when we were younger. Times that were just memories to us…precious memories. He always reminded me of how I hurt myself when we started to build the church. Oh Precious, so much energy and excitement, always hurting himself, always getting into trouble. So many times my name was written in the red book and cancelled out. I had to redeem myself each time. He taught me respect, he taught me redemption, he taught me leadership. I shed tears of joy writing this. I got to see you smile on last time. I got to hear you tell stories one last time. I miss you Brother Michael. We miss you. I love you and you will forever be in our hearts. TRIBUTE BY SISTER RHODA KORANTENG Your memories, attributes and physical creations are blessings and great treasure. You are appreciated beyond measure and missed beyond measure. Your short word of exhortation “you can never eat your cake and have it” still lingers in my heart and always propels me to achieve greater height in life and academia. Rest in perfect peace sir!!! 1948 | IN LOVING MEMORY OF THE LATE BROTHER MICAEL | 2022

page | 14 | TRIBUTE BY SISTER EDITH A Tribute to Old Soldier; I can vividly remember very fond memories of “old soldier” and we the young people of the church. He took keen interest in us right from our childhood days when I used to spend my vacations over at their house. ose were some of the most cherished childhood memories I had anytime I think about them. I even remember there were times he used to pick us from home to school and back and he did so wholeheartedly as having a sense of duty to protect and take care of us. Not forgetting the days, he would come over to our house unannounced to check on us, even sometimes late in the evening. He loved and cherished my family so much, that I can boldly say and not just us but the young people of Branham Tabernacle. He always had us at heart and therefore initiated our day program at church for young people in which academic achievements were awarded and those who didn't perform were shamed so they'll work hard the next semester. at program encouraged each and every one to perform exceptionally, in fact most of us took our studies seriously in school and were of good behavior because we didn't want to get into trouble with Old Soldier. When it came to discipline, he had no friend, he made sure to put you right regardless of whoever you are (young or old). Till this day, I can still remember him threatening to lock some of the young ones who were naughty in the “guard room” and they would start to cry and beg. e idea of youth camp was also brought by him as a way of enriching our Christian lives as young people of the church. ose were really good times. He took it upon himself to make sure we were fed, transported, safe, enjoyed our company and still maintain the purpose of those meetings. I will remain forever grateful and the beneficiary of the impact of his life on earth; his guidance, scolding, training, kindness and love. Words and ink won't be enough to say or write of all that Bro Michael has been to me, but I would like to conclude by saying, you have and will always be a pillar of strength and check in my life and I thank God for making it possible for our paths to cross. It was all predestined. May the good Lord bless and keep you till we meet again. You are dearly missed. 1948 | IN LOVING MEMORY OF THE LATE BROTHER MICAEL | 2022

page | 15 | TRIBUTE BY SISTER CECILIA ADU Precious Brother Michael was a man who lived by his word, he was a man of discipline. He showed love to whoever he got the opportunity to meet…. his desire for the youth was to be united and to be prayer warriors and this is what has kept us and is still keeping us as a family…. a life well lived………continue to dwell in the bosom of the Lord……. AMEN. TRIBUTE BY SISTER ALICE ANIMWAA AND CHRISTABEL AMOADZAH It is with a great heart that we write this tribute to our Precious Pastor Michael at a time we all least expected. We would have wished we were not writing this tribute at this time but God permits the best in all situations. It has been a great blessing for all of the congregation to have him in our midst. We remember him most for how firm he stood to make sure the youth in the church were in good shape spiritually. Pastor Michael, through your love and care for the youth and entire church we can all say that indeed you have left a very good legacy. His payer was to see the children really become dedicated to the Christian faith and service to the Lord. He was not only concerned about the wellbeing of his family but he was also ready to be there for anybody who draws closer to him. His joy was that all who came to him felt happy. We therefore say may the good Lord continue to have you in his bosom until we all gather at the river. 1948 | IN LOVING MEMORY OF THE LATE BROTHER MICAEL | 2022

page | 16 | TRIBUTE BY BROTHER JOSHUA GHANNEY BROTHER MICHAEL as the youth used to call him was a disciplined personality. He believed in hard work, gave no room for laziness and didn't tolerate any form of indecency. His love for the youth and all was outstanding. Anytime there was a Christmas holiday, he would call in for the youth to hold a camp meeting. is shows he always put God first. He always put a challenge to the youth by motivating the best child in the church to make others perform in their academics. Although I never had a grand prize, I was included in the top three in my class at all times. He would always give the best advice based on what he's been through. His voice echoes all the time in my head “Joshua don't forget to pay tithes”. Memories of him will never depart from us. May His Soul Rest in Peace. TRIBUTE BY SISTER FAITH ANDOH-WILSON You made me realize that the little things worth a lot. You had the wisdom and experience and an understanding heart. For I love you and still do and your memory will warm my heart. I'm glad Jesus called you to His side in Heaven, a place of God's beauty. No tears of earthly cares. Only peace and joy forever. I'm so happy you're there. 1948 | IN LOVING MEMORY OF THE LATE BROTHER MICAEL | 2022

page | 17 | TRIBUTE BY BROTHER BOSWORTH AWANBI BROTHER MICHAEL as we affectionately call him was jovial, warm hearted, selfless, and open minded. I very much appreciated how God used him to enhance my life. He taught me great life lessons like honesty, hard work, respect for others and especially confidence. He taught me not to be starchy. He used to tell me that I am too timid and that I should be confident and bold wherever I find myself. He always brought the youth together by organizing camp meetings for us. Rest Well, Soldier. TRIBUTE BY BROTHER CALEB GHANNEY PASTOR MIICHAEL, as the youth used to call him was a symbol of discipline and a courageous leader to us the youth. He inculcated into us God fearing qualities and brotherly love by appreciating what we do right and chastising anyone who will do the wrong thing without considering gender, family or even your level of education. He encouraged us to attain a greater height by monitoring our performance and achievement in the schools through an occasion he organized every end of terminal exams for both the young and old under education sectors. We will always and forever remember you our leader, you really fought a good fight and attained a position in glory and even on this mortal earth. Rest well Daddy till we meet again in glory. 1948 | IN LOVING MEMORY OF THE LATE BROTHER MICAEL | 2022

page | 18 | TRIBUTE BY SISTER PERFECT DEDUME PHILIPPIANS 1:21-23 “For me to live is Christ and to die is gain” “for I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart and to be with Christ which is far better”. BROTHER MICHAEL as we affectionately call him was a man that loved to serve God and this love was expressed most especially through his dedication to the youth…. He longed to make us live right in his sight…. He was more than just our youth leader and commander, he was a father and a friend…. He did not hesitate to ensure that none of us fumbled ……. He was always there to correct us and to put us on the right path…we will always remember you and all the sacrifices, devoting your time and resources to see us smile and be the best of who we already are…your legacy will forever remain in our hearts and we will not disappoint you… We are not sad for me I know you are at a place you have longed to be… Rest in the bosom of the Lord Brother Michael till we meet again. Amen…. 1948 | IN LOVING MEMORY OF THE LATE BROTHER MICAEL | 2022

page | 19 | TRIBUTE BY BROTHER BLESSING KORANTENG My heart cries to see you no more; where is our able youth commandant who is always checking on us to be on the right path? Pastor Michael was a kind hearted and disciplined leader who always wanted the best for every child in the house of the Lord. His exuberance towards matters concerning the youth was one of a kind, thus he started with the organization of “OUR DAY” where each and every youth in the church presents his or her terminal results, to which he assesses, ranks and awards each and every one for their hard work. Each time I find myself in a difficulty, I go to his house, spend some precious moments with him of which he advises and encourages me to be of good character and behavior. His advice and encouragement are what has made me who I am today and still rings in my head every step of the way. My last encounter with him was when he organized a youth camp meeting where we had a nice time with him, I never had it in mind that that moment would have been my last encounter with him. Rest well Pastor Michael, rest well OLD SOLDIER, and may you stay on the other side till we meet on that resurrection morning. Damrifua due Pastor Michael. 1948 | IN LOVING MEMORY OF THE LATE BROTHER MICAEL | 2022

page | 20 | TRIBUTE BY SISTER PATIENCE ASAMOAH BROTHER MICHAEL, as we affectionately called him was, jovial, warm hearted, selfless, and open minded. I very much appreciate how God used him to enhance my life. He taught me great life lessons like honesty, hard work, respect for others as well as confidence during my stay with him. He used to tell me that I was too timid and that I should be confident and bold wherever I find myself. He would always bring the youth together when he would organize camp meetings for us. I would always think that he didn't like me whenever he was strict on me, but growing up I realized it was all for my own good. He left a great imprint in my heart with kindness, love and sacrifice. He will forever remain in our hearts He was a great father and a leader to me. Rest On Sir. TRIBUTE BY SISTER PATIENCE AWANBI PASTOR MICHAEL, it was so heartbreaking to know that having you around was no longer possible until we meet to part no more. Your wisdom, experiences and history as a brave soldier proved your strength and resilience towards the work of God. You were full of love and prayer, and always wished us well in both our academics and in our walks of life. I have come to learn a lot from you and I hope to make you proud someday. Your impact will never be forgotten. is is my consolation, rest on SOLDIER, till we meet again. 1948 | IN LOVING MEMORY OF THE LATE BROTHER MICAEL | 2022

page | 21 | TRIBUTE BY SISTER-HATTIE ASMAH Bro Michael and I shared a very special bond (some might even say there was a bit of bias). Being his favorite, I'll never forget how he always made sure to acknowledge my presence at church during his preaching services every Friday evening. Indeed, its all-good memories we've had with our precious leader. We only look back with some mixed emotions of pain and joy at all the days you took upon yourself to organize and bring the children together to have time to go through each of our academic results and encourage us to work harder. e wonderful trophy you awarded me on my three consecutive wins will always be there to remind me and encourage me to keep working harder. Passing my WASSCE, getting into medical school and being able to conquer our hectic academic schedules, I believe you played a significant part, which I truly appreciate you for. All the encouragement you kept giving me even when you were sick, I say thank you. To cap it all, blissful memories keep unravelling and unfolding as we remember you hosting the entire youth at your home for a week, spoiling us with mouth-watering meals, waking us up for devotion (even when we didn't want to get up from bed), eating and singing together. Oh my! All these priceless experiences with you have helped us to appreciate one another more as well as helping us to maintain healthy relationships with God and man. We'll truly miss you, Bro Michael. you have left a hole that no other person can fill. Our only comfort is that you are now in the bosom of our maker and now cheering us on from beyond the curtain of time. Your numerous “foster children” (of whom I pride myself to be one of) say thank you for your corrections and love that has set us on the right path. We will keep pressing on to higher grounds and make you proud. We love you so much and soon, we'll meet again to part no more. 1948 | IN LOVING MEMORY OF THE LATE BROTHER MICAEL | 2022

TRIBUTE BY page | 22 | BROTHER NICHOLAS AMAKYE All things indeed work together for good to them that love the lord, and in all things, we give thanks to the Lord. Pastor Michael, a loving and caring father he was. Oh my, what a man. Words cannot express the love I have for him. ere are so many precious moments we shared together and not to forget the joy that filled our hearts in our times with him. You would always be on us making sure we did the right thing at the right time, I recall that you would always write my name in the red book and then I would always try to make it up to you for it, and this has taught me that there is no wrong which cannot be undone. Cleanliness, the Bible says, is next to Godliness was your hallmark as you would visit our homes on several occasions just to make sure my room is clean and this has helped me a lot. Your departure has indeed left some emptiness in my heart, nevertheless, I take consolation in the fact that you are resting in the bosom of your maker and that we shall meet again someday. Rest Well SIR. TRIBUTE BY SISTER LILY ESI FOSUA AMAKYE I remember all those days with our precious brother, father and Pastor. Sometimes he would move all the way to our homes to check on our rooms and make sure everything else is cleaned up too. I will surely miss the times when you used to call me,” makoma mu toffee”. God be with you till we meet again with the Saints. May your perfect soul rest in peace. 1948 | IN LOVING MEMORY OF THE LATE BROTHER MICAEL | 2022

TRIBUTE BY page | 23 | BROTHER JESSE AMAKYE The Bible tells us to love one another as ourselves. Brother Michael to me, showed an exceptional love. He was so much interested in my comfort, anytime I was with him. He organized camp meetings for the youth, which he aimed at the expansion of our personal relationship with God. He would specially invite me to his house on every vacation. From that, he aided me with some special chores. He was quite strong for his age. He used to advise me a lot during my stay with him. One afternoon in his house, I was working with him and I got injured. He took care of it and said to me,” in life, every wound heals regardless of time and I will testify of it one day. I am fully awaiting a day in which I will have such an encounter. We believe that you are dwelling in the bosom of Christ and we will surely meet again. Rest Well Sir. TRIBUTE BY BROTHER JOSEPH BENJAMIN AMAKYE In all things, we should give thanks unto the Lord for His good ways are perfect and everlasting. e day I heard about the passing on of Pastor Michael, I was sad but later encouraged because a great help in my upcoming had passed on. Sometimes, when my parents had travelled, he would instruct them to send me along with my siblings to his house to take care of us, and to scold us when we go wrong. During my stay at his house, he would always tell us to improvise in every situation and that it's not always that we had to seek people for help and pay them. We would normally have our youth camp meeting in December and during that time, he would always make sure we had a revival before we would leave. I thank God for His goodness reigns supreme. 1948 | IN LOVING MEMORY OF THE LATE BROTHER MICAEL | 2022

page | 24 | TRIBUTE BY SISTER EARLLA AND SIBLINGS To an inspiring teacher, He took it upon himself, from the moment we met to teach and guide us in the way of the church. A harsh disciplinarian but fair. He involved himself in everything from the main church service to the Sunday school. ere was never a memory of our time in Branham Tabernacle where he was not part of it in some way. he encouraged us to do our best both physically, spiritually and even academically. Pastor Michael helped us in different ways from Kofi by giving him sort of a role or reprimanding him to Earlla and Earlgi by encouraging them when they felt down for not winning an award. Earlgi was always bringing him her notes made in church to him for approval. And even when he was on bed resting, he indulged Earlgi who was going through her obstacles. He was doting in his own way. Even though we were not present in his last days, we would always remember the contributions he made in our lives, both the big and the small. “When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure”. Truer words have never been said. I hope that his memory will be a treasure to us all and that he has gone to meet his maker. May his soul rest in peace. page | 25 | TRIBUTE BY THE CHURCH BRANHAM TABERNACLE, TAKORADI If you could see me now, you wouldn’t shed a tear. ough you may not understand why I am no longer there Remember my soul that is the real me because I’m still very much alive, I've just been set free; oh if you could only see, I’ve beheld our father’s face and I’ve touched my Saviour’s hand. All of Heaven’s Angels rejoiced as I entered the promised land Beyond the gates of pearl, I’ve walked on the golden streets. I've touched the walls of jasper and dipped my foot in the crystal sea e beauty is beyond and nothing could compare I've even seen your mansion and someday I’ll meet you there. Let Jesus be your guide because His word will show you the only way So please don’t cry because we will meet again someday. (Pasty Stambaugh Deskins) Precious Brother Michael was a founding member, deacon, a trustee and was even assisting in the ministering of the word. Being older than most of the members, he played an elderly role in embracing every aspect of the church. He made outstanding contributions toward the sustenance of the church in terms of advice, deed and material. Simply put the last twenty or so years of his life has been at the service of the church and so he is likened to that strong pillar which supports the roof of the church. e brother kept every record of the happenings, events and experiences - including picture album, of the church by himself. He loved so much the fellowship among brethren till anything that will foster the unity and promote brotherhood, he championed the course of it. He wished all the time we are together and so he creates occasions that will bring us together. During such times, he will encourage all to bring something from home so that together we all can eat and share some joyful moments. 1948 | IN LOVING MEMORY OF THE LATE BROTHER MICAEL | 2022

page | 26 | When the church was having two services at some point in time, he ensured every one stays during the break, so we can eat together. e survival of the church has been not that easy. At one point, when the church was having its services in the classrooms, the city authority issued a statement to the effect that all church activities in schools should cease forthwith. at was a dark moment for the church. But as usual, the brother put on his elderly posture and his love for the church constrained him to offer a space on his compound for the temporal structure to be erected for church services. He supervised its construction and the end product was a surprised to all. He was instrumental in the maintenance, cleaning, and even the floral arrangements of its surroundings. In addition, he opened up his home facilities to the church and so his home served as a mission house. is wonderful gesture was recognized by God, as it's reward was seen in the last couple of years of his life. Well before his sickness, when we were still worshiping in the classroom, the brother, on several occasions, will make a statement to the church that in the future, when he finds himself unable to walk, those taking care of him must carry him by every means to church for fellowship. is desire was fulfilled beyond his request when God used him to build the church right in his house and close to his room. So he was privileged to have fellowship with the brethren all throughout the times when he was sick. at was a confirmation of God’s reward to all who give to His service. With his military background, the man brought to bear on the members especially the youth, real military discipline. is military posture ensured that things are done rightly and on time. In conflict resolutions, he normally quotes military slogans and shares some village experiences creating moments of fun to diffuse tension. Behind this commandeering character was a personality which carries brotherly love and care for people around. He was so selfless, always attending to things of others, and in most cases using his own resources. 1948 | IN LOVING MEMORY OF THE LATE BROTHER MICAEL | 2022

page | 27 | On returning from peace-keeping missions, everyone has something to receive from him as a gift. Back in his naval base days, he kept a small vegetable farm around the work place. Brethren received significant amount of product from the farm during harvest. He believes in sharing among brethren. So he will stock articles such as clothings, shoes etc donated by brethren for safe keeping over a period. When he realizes enough quantity of these articles, he will set a day aside for the whole church to come around for a special time during which these items are shared among brethren. e youth of the church took a lion’s share of the life of the brother in his service to the Lord. He had an extraordinary relationship with the young ones. It was not a matter of fear for him as such, but it was a special kind of respect he commands before them. Even though he was strict in dealing with them he was so open to them. ey readily shared their problems and experiences with him knowing he will think through them very well and offer the necessary advice. With permission from the leadership of the church, he organizes special meetings and even camp meetings for the youth. e young ones cherish these meetings because they see the best of him at these times. He is so down to earth with them; does everything together with them. ey prepared their meals with him and sometimes new recipes are introduced into their menu by him. All activities are well programmed and so they know what to do at any point in time. e camp commandant, as he was popularly called, leads them through bible lessons, guided by the spoken word message, prayer sessions, testimonies and songs. e youth’s camp meetings usually ended with a service attended by the entire church. e purpose of the meetings is to encourage the youth to be strong in the Lord, obedient to parents and be focused in life. As the youth leader, he kept records of deviant behaviour - seen or reported, of the youth, in the famous ‘Red Book’. Once your name gets in there, it is a difficult thing to redeem it. He was also interested in their academic work. At the end of every academic year, they submit their test papers together with terminal reports to him for perusal. With the permission from the leadership of the church, he organizes a special award’s day dubbed ‘Our Day’ for the entire church, where he comments on every single performance and rewards 1948 | IN LOVING MEMORY OF THE LATE BROTHER MICAEL | 2022

page | 28 | best performances at different academic levels. Most youth, thanks to this initiative, have gained opportunities to be in high levels of academic study and are making significant progress in their chosen fields of study. So much can be said about Bro Michael but we are limited by space and time. Our precious Bro was taken ill some two half and a years ago. e Lord spoke to the church about him before and when he got sick. But the church also kept praying and not giving up. Like Elisha of old who was told that his master Elijah would be taken away, Elisha said “Yea I know it; hold ye your peace” and again he said “As the Lord liveth and as thy soul liveth, I would not leave thee.” ank God the church was being prepared for this event of Bro Michael’s going. It would have been a great shock if it had been sudden. We would not even know how to take it then. Some members were privileged to see his last few days and saw how God dealt with him. When it was all done with him, God took him. And just then some little doves flew past the window of the room where he laid. e youth will miss him as a father and all will miss him as a brother and friend. Yet we are so much comforted and have gone beyond hope, for we are certain of every promise of God which is truth. Saint Paul said in his submission in 1st Corinthians 15:49 “As we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also hear the image of the heavenly.” And so he said again, “When this earthly tabernacle be dissolved, we have one already waiting.” We also rest upon what the Prophet said in the message Souls at Are In Prison Now, “Oh, our hearts beat high and of great anticipation waiting for that hour to arrive. With that, all fears vanish from us. We have nothing to fear, nothing to dread. We look forward to the promise that the Eternal God has made us and we know that it's the truth. at is why we live, we live for that, that hour, that time, when these mortal will be changed and we would be made like him and there will be no more sickness, no more sorrow, no more heartaches. Oh it will all be over then and with joy of heart, we in faith and courage, we look forward for that day.” Great pilgrim, you have finished the race, the days of your flesh has ended and you are back to where you came from - eternal life. Tell all our friends, we are coming too. Amen and Amen!!! 1948 | IN LOVING MEMORY OF THE LATE BROTHER MICAEL | 2022
