Peter Gene Hernandez(born October 8, 1985), known professionally as Bruno Mars, is anAmerican singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, andchoreographer.His stage name, “Bruno Mars”, was inspired by the wrestler BrunoSamartino, because as a child Bruno was confident, independent andstrong-willed, like the wrestler. The ‘Mars’ came along because girls usedto say he was “out of this world”, so he used the planet Mars as his lastname.One of the reasons I chose Bruno Mars as my inspiration is that he isunabashedly and unapologetically confident and vibrant and that shows inhis music.His set list blends several genres of music such as: pop, doo-wop, funk,R&B, soul and reggae.
