A student can participate only in one event. Kindly confirm your school’s participation on/before 30th NOVEMBER 2021 by submitting the google form in the link provided. Participants must adhere to the time allotted for their presentation. The participants must not reveal the name of their school. Each school will be allotted a school code. All videos should be in landscape mode for better clarity. The entry must be saved with the Child’s Name, Event Name, Class and School code and should be mailed in the form of video (YouTube Link). All live events will be conducted on ZOOM ON 18th December, link for the same will be mailed a day prior to the event. Participants of live event will rename themselves as name/school code for example XYZ/000. Participants will join 15 minutes prior to the given time to listen to the instructions related to the event. No teacher of any school will be allowed to enter the meeting room. Cameras of all the participants should remain on during the live events. MARHABA (Welcome to Emirates) CLASSES NURSERY-KG UNITED ARAB EMIRATES The quality of a child’s experience in the first few years of life helps shape how his/her brain develops. The connections needed for many important higher-level abilities like motivation, self-regulation, communion, love and empathy are deeply embedded in them if given proper education and ample opportunities to explore and emote. We have chosen a country that is best known for its cultural diversity, vibrance, eloquence and ethnicity. Our toddlers will unravel the cultural richness of its art and culture and will learn a lot from it. EVENTS : I. COLOUR CASTLE Our little buds are the happiest when they are left free with colours. Imagine their felicity when they have to put colours in the monotony of Desert and Arabic Castles. Let’s give them a chance to express their creativity and make a debut in the world of competitions. RHYTHM IN MOTION: Arabian folk dances are referred to as Oriental dance or middle east dances in the entire world and have gradually acquired the status of one of the fastest and the most rhythmic dance forms. Seeing our little toddlers dressed in authentic costumes trying to replicate the elusive movements will be a visual treat for all of us. NIHON YE YOKOSO (Welcome to Japan) CLASSES – I AND II JAPAN Japan, also known as ‘The Land of the Rising Sun’, is a country that has always risen like a phoenix every time it has faced a natural or human disaster. Its culture also is equally exquisite and has changed greatly over the millennia, from the country’s prehistoric Jomon period, to its contemporary modern culture, which absorbs influences from Asia and other regions of the world. Japanese culture and tradition represent a fusion of old world culture with newer western practices. The students will get to explore the unraveled mysteries of this beautiful ‘The Land of the Rising Sun’. EVENTS I. IKEBANA -Flower Arrangement Flowers are the ornaments of nature. Ikebana is an ancient Japanese art of flower arrangement. The name comes from Japanese ‘IKE’ meaning alive or arrange and ‘BANA’ meaning flower. The purpose is to spread beauty, fragrance appreciating the nature in the most harmonious manner. RULES JUDGEMENT CRITERIA This is a live event. Idea One participant from each school. II. JINTA MAI -FAN DANCE Japanese fan dance is an integral part of folk festivals celebrated in Japan. Let the little ones recreate the magic dressed in traditional attire along with self- made fans. BIENVENIDO A ESPANA (Welcome to Spain) CLASSES – III AND IV SPAIN Art nurtures creativity, innovation and cultural diversity. Gearing up for it, we all are ready to spread the rich array of Spanish art and dance among young people and promote the cultural cohesiveness. From the baroque brush strokes of Diego Wallace and religious relics of El Greco to Pablo Picasso’s concept of cubism, Spanish art is among the world’s best and it draws people from different countries. EVENTS I. STROKES OF PICASSO –Abstract Painting Abstract painting (Picasso) uses virtual language of shape, form, colour and line to create a composition which may exist with a degree of independence from visual references in the world. Children love to be free when they play with colours and imagination. No wonder Picasso gave them this gift of abstract painting and we have given them the perfect platform for it. OLA BRASIL (Welcome to Brazil) CLASSES – V AND VI BRAZIL The culture of Brazil is primarily western and is derived from European Portuguese culture. It presents a very diverse form of nature showing that an ethnic and cultural mixing occurred to give its most exquisite and breathtaking view which makes Brazil one of the places, anyone can claim a paradise on earth. We have chosen the aspects of Brazil to make our kids aware of its richness and diversities. EVENTS I. CARNAVAL DO BRASIL - 3D CARNIVAL FULL FACE MASKS One of the biggest festivals of Brazil is the Carnival, so let’s create colourful 3D Carnival Mask. Samba, Carimbo, Capoeira, Forro, Caruria, Jongo are some of the famous dances of Brazil. Let’s groove in these rhythmic and fast dances and enjoy their vibrance. BRAZIL-“ Lungsof The Earth”-A Documentary Brazil, also popularly known as the lungs of the Earth, generate about 20 percent of the world’s oxygen and its trees play a key role in reducing pollution. It is an abode to 3 million species of flora and fauna but is facing a threat to its existence for which our young brigade needs to be vocal about. So, a documentary on the same would be our way to preserve this biodiverse paradise by raising awareness for the same. BIEN VENUE EN FRANCE (Welcome to France) CLASSES – VII AND VIII FRANCE This beautiful country is renowned for its captivating paysage , home to some of the world’s most iconic structures and buildings and of course, for the gastronomie locale (cuisine) and fashion label which has turned the world’s ‘fashion statement’. The country boasts of having the world’s best loved literature, films, monuments and the fashion brands. “Joie De Vivre” – Exuberant enjoyment of life is what the French culture spreads everywhere. EVENTS I. IMPRESSIONIST PAINTING –Canvas Painting Impressionism developed in France in the nineteenth century and is based on the practice of painting out of the doors and spontaneously ‘on the spot’ rather than in a studio . Main impressionist subjects were landscapes and scenes of everyday life. French tradition in Fine Art is celebrated throughout the world. II. LA MUSIQUE – Revamping The Classics Music is like a canvas that can allow lot of variations in its bent. Musicians from the very beginning love to play with music and this allows them to stamp their own style onto the original track and reinvent the artist’s creation in a unique and a completely nouveau form. Let’s give our participants a chance to re-explore, reinvent and revamp their musical skills. The participants will take a French song and revamp it by presenting an unplugged version of it. LA MODE - E-catalogue Fashion is an emerging industry and we cannot do away with Paris when we refer to fashion. It has been nurtured and developed there and what we know as ‘la Mode’ is the gift of Paris Fashion Week.The world’s best and the first few designers were from France and have been seen as the role models for the budding designers since ages. We have designed an event so that the participants can come up with their creative catalogues defining fashion and its revolution from 60s until present in the form of a flip book. SAWUBONA SOUTH AFRICA (Welcome to South Africa) CLASSES – IX AND X SOUTH AFRICA South Africa has been famously referred to as the rainbow nation because it is made up of so many diverse cultures and religions. Contained within the South Africa’s borders are Zulu, San, Hindu, Muslim etc. to name a few. South Africa is heir to a legacy of autonomous livelihoods as well as Bantu immigration, slavery, colonization and liberation movements which play a major role in defining its culture. Blending Western technology with indigenous technology, South Africa is a study of contrasts. It represents a blend of modernism and antiquity in the most picturesque manner. EVENTS I. TRIBAL ART -3D Mural Making South African art is the visual art practised by the natives inhabiting the territory of South Africa. The oldest art objects in the world were discovered in South African caves. Archaeologists have discovered two sets of art kits, thought to be 100,000 years old, in a cave in South Africa. Let’s reinvent the beauty of their raw art. The participant will create 3D Mural Art on canvas or a ply board based on the themes of South African tribes. Performing oral history and other recitations leave an impact on spiritual experiences. African dancers utilize the concepts of Polyrhythm and total-body articulation. They are a collective activity performed in large groups and look beautiful even in their individual depiction. INDIA (Namastey Bharat) CLASSES – XI AND XII INDIA The art and culture of any nation is a symbol of oneness. Culture and its heritage reflect and shape values, faith, and aspirations, thereby defining a national identity of people.. India is a carrycot of the finest cultural symbols of the world which include paintings, sculpture, classical dance, performing art, and architecture. The digital world too has a great impact on the country’s economy, education, and society overall. Let us avail the opportunity to showcase our insight and techniques which will invigorate the creative spirit. I. SHILPSHASTRA -Traditional Mythological Painting Indian paintings are a portrayal of tradition and depiction of ancient texts and theories in color and anecdotal accounts. From the ancient civilization to the present day, the paintings provide an aesthetic continuum. Various traditions that have existed in the country have helped in the evolution of paintings in India. II. JUGALBANDI–Classical Duet A jugalbandi is a rendition not only in Hindustani classical music but also in Carnatic music form. It features a duet of two solo musicians. The word jugalbandi literally means, \"entwined twins\". The duet can be both vocal or instrumental. Here the participant will get a chance to perform a vocal jugalbandi supported by musical instruments. RULES JUDGEMENT CRITERIA One Team of two participants from each school. Rhythmic interpretation Duration : 3-4 minutes Voice quality Raag to be chosen from first to fourth year. Coordination It should include taraana. Dynamics No recorded music is allowed. RURAL-COMMENCEZ –A Startup Idea Make in India and Startups- Make in India is an initiative to facilitate investment, foster innovation, building the best in class infrastructure and making India a hub for manufacturing, designing and innovation. Rural India has a huge potential which is untapped and if we want to make India a superpower, we need to integrate rural India with technology. RURAL-COMMENCEZ is an initiative to provide students an opportunity to apply their creative business minds to bring startup projects for Rural India.
