Student Handbook Marketing Management 3 STUDENT LEARNING SUPPORT SERVICES AND FACILITIES 3.1 Academic Services The Academic services of the International Islamic College comprises of three main departments, headed by the Deputy CEO of Academic Management and Admission Division. The main objective of these departments is to assists students in academic matters, especially in relation to academic performance. These departments are actively involved in planning, implementing and monitoring academic policies and procedures to create a conductive, efficient and effective administrative environment for students in the learning process. These departments are:  Registration and Examination Department The main function of this department is to coordinate and to conduct examination-related matters including placement tests, results-processing and also to facilitate appeals for the re- checking of answer scripts and re-admission.  Students’ Records Department The main function is to manage, select and to evaluate applications for admission, while maintaining and updating student’s personal files.  Quality and Accreditation Department The main function is to implement effective quality assurance management unto IIC’s processes and operations including the preparation of the MQA documentation. Student Handbook Marketing Management 3.2 Student Services The student services of the international Islamic College is headed by Deputy CEO of Students Affairs and Discipline (STAD).The main objective of these division is to create awareness among the students on their role and functions as future leaders. It comprises of the following departments Counseling Service (Student Counseling Office) Objectives:  To enhance students’ self-understanding, problem-solving ability, social relationship, self- discovery to become independent.  To assist students in searching a job according to their strengths and interests to achieve their own goals in career development. Service Hours 9:00am – 4:00pm (students are encouraged to make appointments in advance.) Venue Level 3, East Wing, Students Affairs Division Service Categories: (a) Life planning Provide individual and group counseling to facilitate students to achieve self-understanding and self-growth in both life and work. (b) Job searching/hunting Assist students in searching jobs based on their strengths and interests. (c) Job searching information websites & notice boards Provide information of job vacancies and recruitments in the community. (d) Seminars & workshops Invite guest speakers or specialists to give talks and share their experiences with students. 16 | P a g e

Student Handbook Marketing Management Students’ Accommodation IIC has decided to out-source its hostel management to private operators whereby these operators were entrusted to identify and to propose suitable accommodation facilities to IIC as well as to invest, to manage and to collect the rental from the students. IIC, on the other hand, acted as a tenant provider to these respective operators, monitoring the standard of services provided by them. There is only one (1) operator managing IIC’s hostel, that is, Sejahtera Security Services Sdn. Bhd. The details of the hostels are as follows: NO HOSTEL Shuttle bus service is provided for 1. Condominium PV13 students free of charge. Bus trips 2. Apartment, Taman Sri Kuching are limited every day so students 3. Hostel Desa View, Sentul are advised to follow the schedule 4. Kolej Kediaman Bukit Lela of their respective hostels. Student Development Assistance IIC offers various short courses or additional classes to build students’ skills in various fields. SBLSe courses are offered for free. The courses and extra classes are including:  Workshops learning techniques  Academic skills workshops such as writing skills, a study and the like.  Personal development workshops such as Public Speaking, Grooming and Development, time management and etc.  Technical assistance using the computer  Seminars, Forums and Workshops organized from time to time on issues about their area of specialization, education and other issues. Besides, students can get academic advice through a variety of ways. IIC will provides an opportunity for students and open a discussion with students through individual and group meetings with the lecturer, course coordinator or Dean, who are scheduled each semester. These meetings aimed to get students respond directly and discuss the progress of students on academic matters. Apart from meetings, any student can make an appointment with the lecturer, course coordinator or Dean to discuss any problem. 17 | P a g e
