Paul places the importance of youth to the body of Christ in 1 Timothy 4:12. This verse of Scripture is calling you out - Yes, you! Young people, do what the Lord has called you to do, do not wait. You are called to set an example “for the believ- ers”. Show them what a heart truly on fire for God looks like. Ellen G. White in Acts of the Apostles, page 203, wrote: “Timothy was a mere youth when he was chosen by God to be a teacher, but his principles had been so established by his early education that he was fitted to take his place as Paul’s helper. And though young, he bore his responsibilities with Christian meekness.” 3

As you take up the mantle of leading our church during Youth Month in November, keep in mind that your constituents are not just the youth. This is not a stage for putting our youth on parade, but rather entrusting them with the opportunity of rekindling or awakening a new experience in worship for all. Do not seek to be exclusive, but rather strive for inclusiveness. Strive to minister to all. Remember, Trust in God always, Set an exam- ple in conduct, love and faith. Pray with and for the people. Challenge your limits. You are not the future of the church. You are the present! Don’t wait until you are adults to make a difference for the kingdom of God. Do it now! God bless you. WHAT IS YOUTH MONTH ABOUT? Youth Month is an initiative of the church that is planned and executed by the Ad- ventist Youth Department. It aims to aid in leadership, spiritual and social growth of our youth. This is done over a 4 week period when the youth of the church take over leadership positions . During this period our young people brainstorm ide- as and plan initiatives that add youthful exuberance to the vison and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. 5
