Help them access any one aspect of technology that is relevant to them (like- internet surfing, writing an email, using YouTube, etc.) Prepare a report in not more than 2 pages with the following parameters- 1. Empowering my grandmother through technology One day my grandmother was browsing through the internet looking for pots and plants for the kitchen garden and other household items. She expressed her desire to order these things but didn’t know how to go about it. This started my journey towards teaching her how to order things online. My grandmother is old but there was a childlike eagerness in her to learn. The first step in this journey was making her account. I was sure my grandmother would be excited and she really was, I could just see the happiness on her face. She was a very quick learner and got the hang of this process very quickly. After this she chose the item she wanted ordered. We put in the address, clicked “buy now” and voila!! A few days later the product arrived with her name on the box. She opened the box with her face glistening with excitement and she was extremely satisfied by the product. She was never hesitant to order because she could always return it if the quality of the product wasn’t up to the mark. I conducted an interview with my grandmother to see how this experience was for her- Rushil- Good Morning Dadi! My Grandmother- Good Morning Rushil!! Rushil- A few days ago I taught you how to order things on Amazon and today you received your first order... How was that experience for you? My Grandmother- Today I am feeling empowered. Earlier I used to ask you for help to order things online but now I can do the same without help. Rushil- Yes dadi, I am generally the student learning things from you but today I felt different being the teacher! Rushil- So would you say that this is more hassle free than going to a shop to buy things? My grandmother- Definitely, now that I am getting old I avoid going to 67

the market. This makes buying things even easier for me. Rushil- So what was the best part about the whole experience for you? My Grandmother- I saved time, I saved money and in case I don’t like the product I always have the option to return it. 68
