our ProCeSS & What to exPeCt te CaLL etaiL F i r S t things F i r S t date step &Chaad When you call or write us, we like to start with a brief chat on the phone to go Writ through the key points – a little bit about you & your family, your personalities, 1 your relationship to the Wood river Valley & a general overview of what you are looking for. meet this first conversation helps us figure out what kind of portrait is right for you step and to start to start to discuss the details-- location, time of day, etc. for your portrait. 2 Let ’S meet! PiC K From there, we’d love to meet you! Let’s schedule a time to chat here at step studio hQ to discuss things in greater detail. 3 tell us about yourselves! What do you for fun? Who loves to have their photo taken and who hates it? are you goofy or serious? do you have a vision in mind? this will help us get to know you so that we can figure out how best to tell your story! We’ll also discuss how you plan to print and display your images and show you some of the great options we have here in the studio. BooKing your session once we’ve brainstormed a bit, we can help you choose the best time and location for your session. reserving your session with us is super easy. Complete the contract, pay the session fee, & we will get started! our calendar fills up fast, so it ’s always a good idea to book early if you want to get your ideal date and time. Fi n aLS the nitty-gritty step once your session is finalized, we’ll reach out again to check in & help out with anything you might need to prep for your session, with helpful tips on how to 4 prepare, what to wear, etc. We’ve got you covered. you’re in good hands. 4 this is also a great opportunity to talk more about your plans for the images when they are done-- if you want a book or a wall portrait, where you might hang them in your house, what size images you might want, if you are looking for a single image or a series-- all of which help give us some direction about how we might shoot your session.

We’ve talked, we’ve planned. then now it’s time to sit back, relax & have a good time! he r e! 5 don’t worry if someone didn’t get a nap, or didn’t eat all their lunch, or if one of and the kids has a little stain on their shirt. all you need to do is show up & be pres- ent. Leave the rest to us! We’ll wrangle the kids, keep things fun and make sure to step check the list for you! 6 a F t e r it’s over Co me it generally takes 2-3 weeks to process your images. When your photos are ready, we’ll schedule a time for you to see your slideshow on the big screen at step studio hQ. if you are no longer in town, we’ll email you a preview galler y. 7 We ask that before your viewing & ordering session, you look over the printing options one more time (we’ll send you home from your pre-session with plenty tay i of info!) so that you have some specific plans for your photographs- where you want to put the images in your home, what mediums you prefer, who you want to step get gifts for, etc. 8 your viewing & ordering session We’re so excited for you to see your images! When you come in, we will play a slideshow so that you can see all of the images from your session. once you’ve seen all of your images, we’ll go through them one at a time, comparing similar ones, and picking your favorites. We’ll make ‘ yes, no, and maybe’ folders. one we have your favorite images chosen, we will guide you through the process of making final decisions about how to best display each image, which medium works best, what size makes sense, etc. all of the images you see at your viewing session will have already gone through our basic editing process, but those you choose to print will be given a little more personal attention. WraPPing it all up! We’ll put together your products, send you a proof when applicable, and send the final images off to the lab! orders usually take 3-4 weeks to be completed. We’ll let you know when they are ready and you can stop by to pick them up! But that’s not it! We are not done with you! Long after your images are hanging on your wall, please stay in touch! We’re family now! it’s a gift to watch your family grow & develop in the years to come! 5

Printed on beautiful, heavy watercolor paper, these prints are then finished with hand-torn edges. the print is framed floating off the mat board to highlight the torn-edge.
