The personal onslaught against me. Geingos and some of her influential women friends is a change in strategy by those that have for the past four years, since the Geingob marriage and Presidency, failed to create a rift between Dr Geingob and his overwhelming national support base that not only cuts through ethnic differences, but recognises the variety of Namibians and tie them together as democrats. The onslaught on the First Lady is not an isolated new hate campaign. It is much more than that. She became a target even before marriage, which failed but was followed with every effort to first divide and then isolate Dr Geingob from his comrades, Swapo and even the Founding President, Dr Sam Nujoma, until the most recent Swapo Congress overwhelmingly supported him, and on the Nujoma birthday celebrations in his home village where he in an act of great leadership referred to Dr Geingob as “My President.” Regonising what Namibians demonstrated by a 87% vote for Dr Geingob. Were the clean-up movement of Dr Geingob an election, Dr Geingob would have received 99% of the votes. Not able to shake the foundations of the Hage support his adversaries must shake the foundations of his relationships. But what is most disappointing is that the Kalondo/Geingob business partners and males in the corporate world who benefitted and stil benefits from her skills and knowledge as businesswom- an in various transactions do not have the guts to defend her reputation in dealing with her. More was expected from her shareholders and male business partners. Namibians don’t do that. The President, Dr Geingob, is a president for all and the few who want to be privileged because of friendship know that he cannot publicly defend his wife, because he does not have to. Even so, Namibians must never allow a few political scavengers to tear the values of the nation into pieces, but as lions must defend the spoils that are to be shared amongst the pride. It is a sad day when an alleged murderer, Valombola, is constitutionally privileged and for- given, but the wife of the President is constitutionally abandoned and her happiness, family and sacrifices are scattered by the scavengers in the chaos of uncontrollable faceless and cowardly communication outlets. Love is a mystery, and loyalty and friendship are sacred foundations of Namibian sacrifices for independence, freedom and justice. The least Namibians can do for each other is to be fair, respectful and dignified, even in opposi- tion and resentment. Of all remedies, bravery to speak up or to speak for and on behalf of the wronged, will create and sustain a common value of human dignity that was so long denied to so many.
