December 7, 2015WITHIN THIS ISSUEProject Milestones | Symphony | CMMi | Know your team members | The Canon-Capgemini journey | “I Am Impressedby the Way You Embrace the Canon Brand!” Dear Team, Welcome to the first Capgemini Newsletter for Canon! We at Capgemini have continuously strived to align ourselves to developments at Canon. This time, we set the appropriate governance based on your upcoming programs while ensuring that there is no impact on our delivery standards. We now have a re-organized account and delivery structure in place so that we're mobilized globally as One Team with Canon, simplifying how we engage with you, and what we believe is fundamental to a lasting partnership. In August, we had the pleasure of hosting some of your key people in Mumbai for a floor walk with the project team and participate in some interesting workshops. It was a great opportunity for us to understand your ambitions and plans. We feel encouraged by the results of the last satisfaction survey (OTACE), and truly appreciate the trust you have shown in us. We also acknowledge the room for improvement in certain areas and are confident to address it with our revitalized set-up. Understanding your priorities better, we will continue to work hard to improve business value, quality of services delivered, as well as bring relevant thought leadership and innovation to you. The purpose of this quarterly newsletter is to give you a delivery update around some key highlights from the last quarter and the next steps planned. We also aim to share thought leadership nuggets and articles that might be of interest to you. Hope you find this useful and we look forward to your feedback. Let us together take this relationship to greater heights. Amitab Srivastav Account Executive

DPS change from Windows service to a Web Service: This was a technical change made to enable Experience manager functionality on staging websites. This change has brought major performance improvement on the websites allowing faster page load. UGC Gallery: It was done to implement the Image Gallery functionality on Canon’s websites so that any end user can sign in and upload their images. It uses SDL Media Manager for image moderation and hosting purposes. Webform: Store and forward mechanism was designed in Webform to handle end user requests seamlessly if middleware was down. Earlier, during planned middleware outages, a banner was displayed on Webform. Also, the webform requests raised by
end users would be lost. This change has covered both these aspects and improved end user satisfaction. Bazaar Voice: Ratings and reviews tab has been implemented on Canon product pages. This allows end users to see ratings for Canon products and at the same time provide their own reviews and ratings. Security enhancements were done on eCRM application and integrated with eCommerce platform.MIGRATIONS Serena PVCS License Migration- The Serena version control software (i.e. PVCS) was using the license from the old server. We therefore migrated the license manager from old to new server. This has removed the dependency on the old server and it can now be decommissioned safely. Multiple LN applications have been decommissioned across multiple NSO’sNEW SCOPE TAKEN UPBI – R11 Data Quality project:The Unity BI Foundation (BIF) application extracts and loads incremental Supply Chain Planning and Financial data from theEBS R11 systems (CIG and BIG). However, due to issues at R11 side the last_update_date was not populated for many tablescausing data discrepancies. Thus this project includes creation of dynamic triggers and indexes as a solution to resolve thisissue which requires extensive testing to minimize any potential performance issues at R11 side.Darwin:Canon uses Darwin platform, a standard communication platform, for SCM planning in Canon global operations, betweenBusiness Unit HQs that coordinate with factories and all sales regions. The Darwin platform has already been implemented inmost of the CIG and BIG products such as Photo/ Video, IJ printer, LBP, Copier, LFP etc. Canon now wishes to implement thesame platform in NVS and Océ products (only xTOM item). As part of this project, there will be setup/ configuration changes forvarious new file types introduced for the existing interfaces. Consolidation and centralization of LN application across various NSO’s to bring them under one data center UGC gallery - A new application has been added for supporting the UGC Gallery application Newsletter – This application is used for managing and sending newsletters to registered Canon users. The new IT operation delivery organization will be called Symphony. Here are a few key advantages that would result from this union: 1. Our operations will be aligned to business/ functions in Canon (manageable units) rather than application and technology. 2. We will have a single way of working. So predominantly operations will work the way current FAM team works. This will reduce operational overhead. 3. Canon will be able to save costs and improve efficiency as a one-stop-shop for functional maintenance and operations. As the first step, we have started merging the delivery organization aligned with F4F organization of Canon. Broadly, all actions arecategorized in two areas at Symphony:Delivery Integration: Integrated delivery will start in Dec-2015 a. Team merger and alignment with Canon Operations Team b. Transition and cutover to steady state new Symphony organization: Process and procedures are being aligned with FAM way of working c.
