FERTILIZE Part of speech: Verb Definition: To add nutrients, such as minerals, to the soil to help plants grow. Example Sentence: 1. Plant ash can be used to fertilize the soil. 2. Farmers can use camel waste fodder laies fertilize their crops.

EXPERIMENT Part of speech: Noun Definition: a test used to discover or learn something. Example Sentence: 1. The experiment confirmed my theory. 2. The results of the experiment were inconclusive.

POISONOUS Part of speech: Adj. Definition: full of poison, a substance that may cause sickness or death. Example Sentence: 1. Some mushrooms are extremely poisonous. 2. He was bitten by a poisonous snake.

SPECTRUM Part of speech: Noun Definition: the series of colors that white light separates into. Example Sentence: 1. A spectrum is formed by a ray of light passing through a prism. 2. Beyond the red end of the visible light spectrum is infrared.

DIRECTIONS Part of speech: Noun Definition: lines that something moves, faces, or lies along. Example Sentence: 1. In which direction are you going, north or south? 2. They hit a truck coming in the opposite direction.

SEASHORE Part of speech: Noun Definition: land near or on the edge of the sea. Example Sentence: 1. He liked to look for shells on the seashore. 2. I found her on the seashore.

ENVIRONMENT Part of speech: Noun Definition: the surrounding of a plant or animal that affect its life. Example Sentence: 1. It matters what we do to the Environment. 2. Organic farming is better for the environment.

SUCTION CUP Part of speech: Noun Definition: a cup-shaped object that sticks to a flat surface through lowered air pressure. Example Sentence: 1. It's difficult to see suction cups in a sentence. 2. The toothbrush holder adheres to the sink with a suction cup.

RECORD Part of speech: Verb Definition: to set down on paper. Example Sentence: 1. I record all my thoughts in a notebook. 2. Keep a record of everything you spend.

TIDES Part of speech: Noun Definition: the rise and fall of water levels that, in most oceans, takes place twice each day. Example Sentence: 1. The tides depend on the pull of the moon. 2. The height of tides is increased by onshore winds.

CHALLENGE Part of speech: Noun Definition: something that is difficult to do. Example Sentence: 1. That's going to be my new challeng. 2. The college entrance examination is a real challenge.

EXPOSED Part of speech: Adj. Definition: allowed to have light shine on it. Example Sentence: 1. The film has been exposed to light. 2. The garden was very exposed to westerly winds.

REVERSED Part of speech: Adj. Definition: changed to the opposite. Example Sentence: 1. Writing is reversed in a mirror. 2. The decision was reversed on appeal.

VISIBLE Part of speech: Adj. Definition: able to be seen. Example Sentence: 1. It is a visible star in the sky. 2. The hills were barely visible through the mist.

SITE Part of speech: Noun Definition: the place where something is Example Sentence: 1. The government is looking for a site on which to build a new school in this area. 2. We found a perfect site to set up our tent right beside the river.

BLIZZARD Part of speech: Noun Definition: a severe snowstorm with high winds and low visibility. Example Sentence: 1. The white sand blowing around looked like a Texas blizzard. 2. In March, another blizzard struck the eastern seaboard states.

COTTAGE Part of speech: Noun Definition: a small simple house, typically one near a lake or beach. Example Sentence: 1. They arrived at a small cottage in a clearing. 2. The nearest cottage was still some distance away.

DEODORANT Part of speech: Noun Definition: a substance which removes or conceals unpleasant smells, especially bodily odors. Example Sentence: 1. Showering daily and using deodorant can help. 2. They are an effective natural deodorant shaped from crystallized salts.

SHEAR Part of speech: Verb Definition: have something cut off. Example Sentence: 1. I'll shear off all that fleece. 2. Paul has never sheared a sheep before.

INFLAMMABLE Part of speech: adj. Definition: easily set on fire. Example Sentence: 1. It is very volatile, the vapour being heavy and very inflammable. 2. They are all readily inflammable and are practically insoluble in water.

MAGIC Part of speech: Noun Definition: the power of apparently influencing the course of events by using mysterious or supernatural forces. Example Sentence: 1. I want you to sense my magic without touch. 2. Her healing magic zapped him hard enough almost to right his head.

ORTHODONTIST Part of speech: Noun Definition: a dentist who is qualified to treat irregularities in the teeth and jaws. Example Sentence: 1. Doctor Namnua has more than 25 years of experience as an orthodontist. 2. Local factors, such as sharp teeth or braces, can be addressed by a dentist or orthodontist.

PEDIATRICIAN Part of speech: Noun Definition: a medical practitioner specializing in children and their diseases. Example Sentence: 1. We're looking for a new pediatrician in case anyone's wondering! 2. Before your baby is born, you'll want to choose a pediatrician that you can trust.

PRESCRIPTION Part of speech: Noun Definition: an instruction written by a medical practitioner that authorizes a patient to be provided a medicine or treatment. Example Sentence: 1. People who abuse alcohol, illegal drugs, or prescription medications often exhibit signs of dementia. 2. A separate prescription sheet records the intravenous fluids given.

SCENARIO Part of speech: Noun Definition: a written outline of a movie, novel, or stage work giving details of the plot and individual scenes. Example Sentence: 1. That's the only scenario that makes sense. 2. We are looking for the most feasible scenario.

AGRICULTURE Part of speech: Noun Definition: the science or practice of farming, including cultivation of the soil for the growing of crops and the rearing of animals to provide food, wool, and other products. Example Sentence: 1. Agriculture is the main industry in this rural location. 2. Agriculture exists only for the supply of local needs.
