You cannot find a single flaw with the naked eye and the quality holds up under close inspection. PCGS 1, NGC 1, CAC 2. This coin does not appear to have sold in auction previously and there are no recent records for the NGC-graded coin. THE REGENCY AUCTION 29 LOT 478 25C 1870 J-911. PCGS PR66+ CAM CAC Ex Denali Collection. The FINEST KNOWN example of this very rare R-7+ Standard Silver Pattern. Struck in aluminum with a plain edge. There were many varieties of Standard Silver coins produced between 1869 and 1871 in various different metals and with differing designs. This variety has a capped bust of Liberty facing right with three stars on the band. The reverse wreath is made of one branch each of laurel and oak. This simple design looks fantastic on the highly reflective and contrasted aluminum planchet. Indeed, the coin is blinding when viewed under a light. Most of these off metal strikings were produced as part of special sets made for VIP mint clients to a very limited extent. Untoned and only the slightest bit of haze, but never dipped or conserved. As pretty today as the moment it was carefully removed from the dies. PCGS 1, NGC 0, CAC 1. This is the finest example known, and sold in our Regency XI Auction as lot 347 for $7,931. In January 2016ís Regency Auction XX, the Bob Simpson example, graded PR65 CAC sold for $7,931. Anyone building a collection of Standard Silver patterns should really take a good, hard look at this one and plan to bid liberally. PCGS# 800067 | ESTIMATE: $8,000+ LOT 479 25C 1870 J-916. PCGS PR67 CAM CAC Ex Simpson Collection. R-7+ (4-6 minted). Liberty wears a tiara with no stars. Stuck in aluminum with a reeded edge. What an amazing SUPERB GEM! Clearly the FINEST extant example of this VERY RARE Judd number! Deep and watery like mirrors beam from all over. The mirrors have no oxidation. There is a small area of roughness in the planchet in the obverse right field (mint made). Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck and have thick frost. The eye appeal is excellent! PCGS 1, NGC 0, CAC 1. This is the FINEST J-916 known. In fact, overall in ANY Aluminum Pattern design there are very few PR67’s. There is a $10,000 Collector’s Universe Value, but of course, NONE have ever sold in auction. Mr. Simpson paid $15,000 for this coin in the 2008 mega Pattern deal. Opportunity knocks loud here! PCGS PR66 CAM CAC This coin is a very high R-7 (4-7 Minted). Struck in aluminum with a plain edge. It is the FINEST known. There are less than half a dozen known of this issue and this coin is the finest certified! For a trial striking, a lot of effort went into making this exceptional quality piece. Overall, the planchet was problem free, so when it was struck, there are practically NO imperfections. Gloriouswatery mirror fields that offer extraordinary quality and preservation. This issue has a plain edge and is boldly struck on all the devices with snow white frost glistening over the mirror fields. No spots or lines detract! Undoubtedly this is the finest known of this rare and seldom seen pattern issue. PCGS 1, NGC 0, CAC 1. The ONLY other specimen we are aware of is the PR 64+ Cameo in the all time finest ever PatternCollection-the Simpson Collection. This coin sold in December 2017 for $9,400. There are NO accurate price guides for this coin. Do keep in mind, if it was a regular 1870 Half in PR66 Cameo CAC it would easily cost $10,000+. Good luck! PCGS# 800036 | ESTIMATE: $8,000+ 223

THE REGENCY AUCTION 29 LOT 483 50C 1870 J-991. PCGS PR67 CAM CAC This is the FINEST J-991 graded at PCGS, and is likely the FINEST KNOWN example of this Rarity-8 Standard Sliver Pattern. FINER than the Denali-Simpson coin we sold last year, this coin is simply SUPERB in every way! Liberty wears a diadem with a single star and LIBERTY inscribed on her headband. Sharply struck in aluminum with a reeded edge. The mirrors are bold, deep, and offer a stunning chrome like flash. Every detail is crisply struck up and frosted creating an amazing contrast and eye appeal. The surfaces are without flaw including any oxidation that is often seen. PCGS 1, NGC 1, CAC 1. The only record we can find for a CAMEO is the aforementioned Simpson coin, a PR66 CAM (no CAC) that brought $9,106 in January 2017. As the FINEST KNOWN, this beauty will find itself in any world class collection of patterns! PCGS# 412231 | ESTIMATE: $11,000+224

LOT 484 THE REGENCY AUCTION 29$1 1870 J-1018. PCGS PR67 CACThis is undoubtedly, by a long margin, the FINEST J-1018 225and there are just TWO graded at PCGS of this Rarity-8Longacre dollar.Struck aluminum with a reeded edge, this beautiful patterndollar has Longacre’s gorgeous Seated Indian Princessdesign paired with the regular proof reverse die.First, as noted, the design is gorgeous. Longacre’s creation, showing Lady Liberty dressed as an Indian Princess sits ona rock, supporting a globe inscribed LIBERTY and holdinga pole with a liberty cap on top. What an improvement thisdesign would have been if it had been adopted! The mirrors are sleek, and have a stunning deep flashingbold reflection that is just fantastic. While aluminum is asoft and reactive metal, there is not a single hairline, scratch, mark, or any type of corrosion that often plague coins struckin this metallic content. Every detail stands out in its full, higher relief definition. They are frosted, and this coin istruly a borderline CAMEO with impeccable surface contrast. There are a number of old auction appearances listed in thePollock pattern reference, but the old photo plates (if theyeven have plates) make it hard to trace the provenance. Forthe entire J-1018, PCGS has graded two examples, this onethe absolute finest, and the PR64 that is impounded in theSimpson Collection.PCGS 1, NGC 1, CAC 1. We do not doubt that this and theNGC coin are both the same coin. NGC has two coins inPR64 reported, likely the same example which is now inthe Simpson collection. This may very well be a once ina generation opportunity for any advanced pattern dollarcollector. There are no accurate guides nor is any fifteen yearold APR relevant today for a coin graded much lower! The10th edition of Judd (2009) has a value of $52,500 in PR65and nothing is priced higher. This is a very cool coin that wehave had a hard time putting down since it came in, and wethink you will have the same problem when you see it!PCGS# 61266 | ESTIMATE: $65,000+

THE REGENCY AUCTION 29 LOT 485 $1 1871 J-1148. PCGS PR66 RB CAC Too bad this design never made it into coinage--it is beautiful! The obverse features James Longacreís Seated Indian figure of Liberty and the reverse is the standard proof die for the year. This coin is extremely high end. R-7+ 4-6 Minted. Struck in copper with a plain edge. Outstanding deep mirrors vividly beam from all over. Copper coins rarely offer powerful mirrors like this-- totally clean and clear. A bold mix of violet, red, and magenta hues are totally original and blaze from both sides. Very similar surfaces to bronzed copper medals produced at the mint. There are NO spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and every detail is sharply struck and have thick frost. The eye appeal is awesome! PCGS 3, NGC 1, CAC 3. You can’t top the electricity of the colors and the flash of the mirrors here. A near twin to the one that sold in our July 2017 Regency Auction for $31,725 and the current Collector’s Universe value is listed at $34,500. This is a supreme example of a tough Longacre design that was a near miss to become a regular US coin design. This will be a stunning fit in any superb pattern collection. PCGS# 71410 | ESTIMATE: $23,000+226

THE REGENCY AUCTION 29LOT 48610C 1879 J-1589. PCGS PR65+ RB CACA beautiful Morgan dime pattern. The famous MorganLiberty head on the obverse makes this look like amini-Morgan dollar in copper. The reverse has ONE DIMEinside a beaded circle with E PLURIBUS UNUM aboveand an olive wreath around. Struck in copper with a reedededge, it is listed as Low R-7, with fewer than 12 examplesbelieved to have been minted. This AMAZING looking pattern dime is the CoinFactsplate coin and for good reason! Its look is dramatic. Richred mirrored fields have a bold contrast against the frosteddevices. Violet overtones can be seen when rotated in a light, but coin is mostly brilliant RED. Sharply struck up, everydetail is sharply rendered. The beauty and elegance of thisdesign makes us wish that the mint adopted it.PCGS 2, NGC 2, CAC 3. This is the only 65+ RB graded, and we think that the populations reflect this coin as both a65 and 65+. PCGS has graded 8 in all color and CAMEOdesignations total, this one among the FINEST numericallygraded and is a true prize for any pattern collector. TheCollector’s Universe Price Guide does not list a value in65+RB, but is listed at $11,500 in 65 and $16,500 in 66 RB;we think this GEM will cause the price guide to be rewrittenwhen the hammer falls. Good luck!PCGS# 71966 | ESTIMATE: $13,000+ 227
