LOT 46 ORIGINAL 1876 PROOF SET FROM THE YOUNG-DAKOTA COLLECTION EX CHEYENNE COLLECTION Here is a very important, matched, original early Proof Set, featuring nothing but centennial year GEMS. Not only are all the coins of exceptional quality, several of the coins are near the top of the pop, and would be exciting coins on their own. All eight coins are PCGS/CAC and are Legend quality! Taken as a collection, these Centennial year coins are very special indeed. This set contains the following coins: 1C 1876 PCGS PR65+ BN CAC. Pleasing violet and red hues blend together over evenly reflective, GEM quality surfaces. Sharply struck. 2CN 1876 PCGS PR66 CAC. A light iridescent, silver white hue gently caresses the reflective nickel surfaces. Really nice eye appeal. 5C 1876 PCGS PR65 CAC. The surfaces are an exact match to the 3CN offered above, with a soft haze over reflective surfaces. Totally original. 10C 1876 PCGS PR67 CAC. TIED FOR FINEST in the designation at PCGS. A rare opportunity, NONE have ever sold in auction. Exciting, intense mirrors glitter from below a rich, but not dark melange of orange and blue-teal color. Razor sharp and ice smooth, this coin is nothing short of stunning! 20C 1876 PCGS PR66 CAM CAC. Tied for second FINEST graded, just a single PR67 CAM is graded higher. SUPERB in every way, with flashy mirrored fields that contrast against the frosted devices. A similar color blend of toning as the dime, the pattern is slightly different, but no less original and beautiful. 25C 1876 PCGS PR67 CAM CAC. Just a single PR67+ CAM is graded higher, this is very high end and near the top of the pop for this popular issue. Thickly frosted devices show off a bold contrast to the watery reflective mirrors. A wonderful mix of lilac-slate, rose, gold, and teal-blue toning is brought out by the stunning mirrored fields and accent the bold cameo contrast. 50C 1876 PCGS PR66 CAM CAC. There are just two coins graded finer, this stunner has a gorgeous look. Essentially an exact match to the quarter, the reverse is a little lighter in the center. WOW! T$1 1876 PCGS PR65 CAM CAC. Bold contrast between the thickly frosted devices and the extremely reflective fields. The mirrors have a watery finish to them, which glint and gleam in the light, beaming all over. A real GEM, with a gorgeous melange of colors that match the other silver coins in this set, the fields show just the ever tiniest contact, which is why it is not graded higher. VERY RARE any finer, this is a great example. Only 1150 Proof sets could have been assembled at the time. If other sets are out there, it would be extremely hard to rival the quality of the present set. The Collectors Universe value combined is over $56,000 and we know a set like this will entice very strong bidding from anyone seeking SUPERB centennial year Proofs. Good luck! ESTIMATE: $85,000+ 51
LOT 47 COMPLETE 1885 PROOF SET FROM THE YOUNG-DAKOTA COLLECTION This is such a beautiful, quality oriented, and affordable set. To find a 134 year old matched, original set in our opinion is equal to owning any classic rarity! 1C 1885 PCGS PR65RB CAC. Not typical as this coin has lots of color. The mirrors are strong and make the colors stand out. The mirrors have tremendous clarity, cleanliness, and flash. Original green/Mint red/ gold colors swirl all over. Great coin! 3CN 1885 PCGS PR65 CAC. Here is a lovely, flashy Proof with icy mirrors and nicely preserved surfaces. Not hazy or with any kind of film on the surfaces that distort the mirrors, this GEM has a great look. 5C 1885 PCGS PR66 CAMEO CAC. Deep mirrors beam boldly from all over. The mirrors have good clarity and are pretty clean. You do not have to imagine the contrast. The eye appeal is superb! 10C 1885 PCGS PR63 CAMEO CAC. Watery like deep mirrors beam vividly from all over. Just a few very minor abrasions can be found in the right field. The colors are deeper golden brown by the rims. 25C 1885 PCGS PR64+ CAMEO CAC. SUPER HIGH END. We really do not see why PCGS was so stingy on the grade. The mirrors are deep and super flashy. There are no visible problems. This coin was upside down when stored with the others. Golden brown obverse, same on the reverse with the same hints of blue the other coins have. Killer eye appeal here too! 50C 1885 PCGS PR64+ CAMEO CAC. Just a few light stray lines keep this coin from a PR65 Cameo. The mirrors are deep and have that “watery” roll. There is no haze-just powerful flash. This coin has the same colors as the other silver coins-golden brown centers with blue by the rims. Great eye appeal! $1 1885 PCGS PR64 CAMEO CAC. The king of the set! No question this beast is HIGH END. Deep mirrors beam strongly from all over. The mirrors are clean and have strong clarity. Only using a strong glass can you find a few really light lines. Like the other silver coins in this set, the rims are royal blue and the centers are a pale golden brown. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck and stand out with thick silver frost. Neat coin! We have not seen many Matched Original 1885 Proof sets in our careers of 40 years. These are kind of the ultimate Proof Type sets to own. This set is actually some what affordable too! The current Collectors Universe value is $12,000. Add about 10% for a set premium. These are just too cheap! We expect strong bidding here, good luck!! ESTIMATE: $12,500+ 52

LOT 48 ORIGINAL 1890 PROOF SET FROM THE YOUNG-DAKOTA COLLECTION Clearly this lovely proof set set was lovingly cared for since 1890, the coins kept together where the silver issues were clearly able to acquire wonderful matching patina on both sides over nearly-GEM to fully GEM plus quality grades. 1C 1890 PCGS PR63 RB CAC. Where is the brown on this high end example? First, the contrast is stunning, the obverse on its own is full CAMEO contrast, imparting bold visual allure. 5C 1890 PCGS PR64 CAC. Nicely reflective for the assigned grade, delicately toned with a nice look. 10C 1890 PCGS PR65 CAC. Thickly frosted devices stand out against the wonderful GEM quality, watery fields. Slate, olive, russet, and gold tone frame both sides, the brilliant sheen enlivens the colors. 25C 1890 PCGS PR64 CAC. Similar hues to the dime, there are hints of teal, rose and gold that blend together on the obverse, the reverse is bathed in gold with a halo of color at the periphery. 50C 1890 PCGS PR66 CAC. This is the highest graded coin in the set, and as expected, the eye appeal is excellent. Bold cameo contrast is seen on both sides. Totally original and very pleasing, this is a very high end example. $1 1890 PCGS PR64+ CAC. Both sides of this GEM Cameo Proof are framed by a lovely patina. The mirrored reflection on the fields contrast with the frosty, sharply struck devices. The silver Proof coins each had a small mintage of 590 pieces. Matched original sets, the few that were sold to contemporary collectors over the years have been broken up, leaving any original set still intact incredibly rare. While the current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $14,140, the value of this set should add to more than the sum of its parts. Good luck! ESTIMATE: $13,000+ 55
LOT 49 1893 MATCHED PARTIAL SILVER PROOF SET FROM THE YOUNG-DAKOTA COLLECTION This lot contains the three Barber designed denominations in wonderful SUPERB GEM grade. Each coin is totally original and very high end with a stunning visual allure. 10C 1893 PCGS PR66 CAM CAC. Intensely reflective, high end watery mirrors beam all over on this lovely GEM. Pale rose, gold, teal, and lilac toning caresses the surfaces and the originality is attested to by some minor flecks, which we think is all that keeps this coin from an even higher grade. Good contrast. 25C 1893 PCGS PR67 CAM CAC. Thickly frosted devices stand out against stunning, icy mirrored fields that beam and reflect with bold clarity. The contrast is exceptional in every way, with razor sharp precision to the details and a nice, thick frost. Impressive teal, blue, peachy-gold, and and lovely pastel iridescent hues enhance the wonderful eye appeal. 50C 1893 PCGS PR67 CAM CAC. An amazing SUPERB GEM that is among the FINEST graded-there are just three finer in the CAMEO category. Highly reflective mirrored fields are pristine and have the epitome of flash, clarity and reflection. Both sides are wonderfully toned with a matching palette of color that the dime and quarter possess. A truly impressive coin. Only 792 silver Proofs were struck. This gorgeous trio has a similar appearance, making us believe that they have been together since mintage. While overall the current market values of Proof Barber coinage has been battered, these three coins are truly special examples and should bring bidding that exceed the current combined Collectors Universe value of $15,850. Whether you are going to use these to start a SUPERB set of Proof Barber dimes, quarters, and halves; or place them into a carefully assembled Proof type set, this 1893 trio is for you! LOT 50 ORIGINAL 1895 PROOF SET FROM THE YOUNG-DAKOTA COLLECTION Legend Rare Coin Auctions is proud to have been consigned this magnificent 1895 GEM ORIGINAL PROOF SET that has been off the market for many years. At the Boston ANA Show 2010 our sister company Legend Numismatics was approached by an elderly long time Boston area coin dealer. He offered them the set because of their reputation about buying matched original sets. Within minutes not only was the set Legend’s, it was placed in the Young-Dakota Collection. This set has been Young-Dakota’s favorite set and he is sad to part with it. However, estate planning calls. The selling dealer’s story was simple: he had owned this set for forty years! There was no reason not to believe him. This set was the absolute epitome of being matched original. Neither Legend Numismatics or LRCA had ever seen this set prior, in fact we have never seen any other 1895 Proof sets! Most sets have been broken up due to the dollar’s high value. This superb set includes: 1C 1895 PCGS PR65RD CAC. Deep glittering mirrors beam boldly from all over. The mirrors have tremendous clarity and flash. There are a few light traces of some toning, but there are NO spots (that is a toning dot by the rim). The Indian and every detail is fully struck and has gentle frost. It is a GEM RD coin. The eye appeal is super! 5C 1895 PCGS PR66 CAC. VERY HIGH END. Deep mirrors offer a strong reflection. The clarity and cleanliness are strong too. When you twirl the coin the mirrors are “watery”. Some slight contrast is visible. Miss Liberty is fully struck and has gentle frost. The eye appeal is excellent! 10C 1895 PCGS PR67 CAC. What a coin! The mirrors are strong and beam vividly from all over. Even with toning, you can see the coin’s strong clarity. Both sides are covered by a moderate mix of original olive/teal/blue/pale purple colors. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck. The eye appeal is fantastic! 25C 1895 PCGS 66 CAC. Crisp deep mirrors blossom boldly from all over. The mirrors look like a freshly made sheet of ice. There are no marks or lines. The clarity is off the charts. As with all the other silver coins in this set the totally original colors are olive/teal/blue/pale purple. Miss Liberty and the details are frosted and have full strikes. The eye appeal is terrific! 50C 1895 PCGS PR66 CAC. This stand out SUPER HIGH END GEM is a coin many people would put even in a higher graded set. Exquisite mirrors glow intensely from all over. They are crystal clear and have zero imperfections. Of course the same moderate original color mix of olive/teal/blue/pale purple colors are spread all over. Miss Liberty and the details are needle sharp in strike and have thick frost. The eye appeal is wonderful! $1 1895 PCGS PR67+ CAC. Not only is this coin the king of Morgans, its the king of this set! Outstanding mirrors beam boldly from all over. When you twirl this coin the mirrors have a rolling “watery” look (that’s a good thing). The clarity is strong too. There is one tiny dot that keeps this pristine GEM from a PR68 grade. As you would expect, the colors are identical to all the other silver coins: original olive/teal/blue/pale purple. Miss Liberty and every detail fully struck and do have strong frost. The eye appeal is outstanding! For the silver coins, only 880 pieces each were minted. We feel strongly its a miracle this set was not broken up to pull out the dollar (its pop 1). When figuring this set, include a set premium. We generally figure them at 10-20% depending on how nice the set is. EVERY coin in this set is VERY HIGH END and very eye appealing too. This SUPERB GEM set is beyond nice! Both the Young-Dakota and the Legend family wish that this set is purchased by a collector who will cherish it as much as the last two owners have. Breaking up this possible once in a lifetime set, in our opinion would be a crime. Good luck! ESTIMATE: $170,000+ 59
LOT 51 NEARLY COMPLETE 1902 PROOF SET FROM THE YOUNG-DAKOTA COLLECTION A lovely, mostly complete set indeed! Missing just the quarter, this set was put together by our collector looking for coins with well matched surface quality; 1902 Proofs are brilliant, usually with little Cameo contrast. The eye appeal and quality is pretty well matched. 1C 1902 PCGS PR66+ RB. The only non-CAC coin in the set, and the eye appeal is great. We think that a few insignificant flecks on the reverse is all that keeps this GEM from getting a CAC bean. The color and reflection are beautiful. 5C 1902 PCGS PR67+ CAC. Tied for FINEST graded! Flashy chrome-like reflection is blinding and the icy smooth surfaces beam blindingly. 10C 1902 PCGS PR66 CAC. Flashy, brilliant, original silver surfaces with lovely, clear gold toning adding to the eye appeal. 50C 1902 PCGS PR66+CAM CAC. Blazing mirrors and bold contrast for the date are seen on this SUPERB GEM. Untoned, this coin looks like it just came off the dies. $1 1902 PCGS PR67+ CAC. Among the FINEST graded! Gorgeous ancient tawny gold and blue toning which flashes with amazing contrast over the mirror fields and frosted devices. This type of elegant toning has been seen on the most original sets that were put away at the time of issue and left in the original paper wrapping from the Philadelphia Mint. Such toning takes generations to develop and truly comes alive when examined under a light, with vivid shades of blue and russet dancing across the glassy fields and frosty devices. The effect is stunning. The silver 1902 Proof coins had a limited mintage of 777. This set, with two coins that rank at or near the Top of the Pop, will delight any one needing those coins for their advanced sets. That said, the whole package taken together also is a true delight to behold. The Collectors Universe value adds up to $43,200, with the dollar accounting for more than half of that. This group of SUPERB coins will bring a very strong bid when the hammer drops. ESTIMATE: $38,000+ 60

LOT 52 ORIGINAL 1904 PROOF SET FROM THE YOUNG-DAKOTA COLLECTION This is a great, matched original proof set! You can clearly see that each coin was carefully stored together for the last 110 years. Only 670 sets could have possibly been minted. 1C 1904 PCGS PR65 RB CAC. A mostly red and gorgeously reflective GEM. Strong eye appeal. 5C 1904 PCGS PR65 CAC. A very pleasing, high end, lightly toned example, especially for the grade. 10C 1904 PCGS PR64 CAC. High end, zero imperfections, with both good flash and lilac-dove color that delights the eye. 25C 1904 PCGS PR65. Super clean, strong mirrors and identical colors to the rest of the set. Weíre unsure why this failed to CAC. 50C 1904 PCGS PR63 CAC. Really high end for the grade. There are a couple of hidden, toned over hairlines that are all that keep this coin out of a higher grade holder. Trust us, we have seen worse in PR64 holders. $1 1904 PCGS PR63. Hard watery mirrored surfaces show off the identical colors as the Barber coinage in this set, but they are just a bit more mottled. We do not know for sure why CAC did not bean this dollar, it is totally original. Despite the modest grades, we really do like this set. Its a true “old time” looking group of coins! Back in October 2014, this set realized $8,519. Probably rarer today than five years ago, this is a truly well matched, original set in a price range most collectors can afford. ESTIMATE: $7,500+ 63
LOT 53 1905 PROOF SET FROM THE YOUNG-DAKOTA COLLECTION For whatever reason, so few of these sets survive today. Only 727 were ever minted. To find a set so pristine and original like this is exceedingly rare-do not underestimate it. 1C 1905 PCGS PR66+RB CAC. VERY HIGH END quality. Deep glittering mirrors are impossible to miss-even from a block away! The mirrors enjoy bold clarity and are clean. Only a tiny toning dot or two can be found using a strong glass. The color is a GEM original faded mint/red/pale brown. Do not think this date or grade are common-they are not. Great eye appeal! 5C 1905 PCGS PR66 CAC. You do not even have to twirl this coin to see the deep and “liquid” like rolling mirrors. The surfaces are super clean. Mellow splashes of gold are spread all over. There are no spots. Miss Liberty and the details are needle sharp in strike. Terrific eye appeal! 10C 1905 PCGS PR66 CAC. Deep mirrors glitter boldly from all over. You can clearly tell they are clean and offer good clarity. Both sides are toned similar to all the other silver coins in the set: original splashes of olive/blue/reddish gold/silver colors. There is some contrast. Pretty good looking! 25C 1905 PCGS PR66 CAC. Another totally matched coin. You can’t beat the deep, fresh, clear, and clean mirrors of this coin and all the coins in the set. The same blue/olive/reddish gold colors swirl all over this coin. Miss Liberty and the details really stand out with strong silvery frost. The eye appeal is neat! 50C 1905 PCGS PR66 CAC. SUPER HIGH END! We really do not understand why PCGS at the very least did not + the coin. Glass like mirrors are pristine and offer powerful flash. The colors are a bit lighter and are splashed less across the surfaces. This coin is SUPERB in every respect! The eye appeal is wonderful! Lay the set out on a table and you just get the tingles seeing the matched colors and HIGH END qualities of each coin. The current Collectors Universe Value totals only $13,500 for the set. Even with a set premium, it still seems too cheap. We love the value this 114 year old matched original set offers! Good luck! ESTIMATE: $38,000+ 64

LOT 54 ORIGINAL 1909 PROOF SET FROM THE YOUNG-DAKOTA COLLECTION This is a fantastic 1909 Proof Set that features nothing but GEM quality examples. Each coin is high end for its issue and has a stunning visual allure, imparted by bold mirrors and inspiring, original toning. 1C 1909 INDIAN. PCGS PR66 RB CAC. Swirling original shades of emerald, rose, and violet overtones on brilliant orange-red surfaces. Sharply struck and reflective. 1C 1909 LINCOLN. PCGS PR66 RB CAC. Really, come on?! Where is the brown on this RED Matte Proof Lincoln? Sure the obverse has a touch of light patina over the brilliant red surfaces. 5C 1909 PCGS PR66 CAC. Highly original, reflective mirrored surfaces have a wonderful light iridescent tone and sharply defined details. 10C 1909 PCGS PR65 CAM CAC. Wonderfully toned at the obverse periphery that frames watery mirrored fields and frosty, well struck devices. The eye appeal is quite nice. 25C 1909 PCGS PR65 CAM CAC. This GEM has a classic old time collection look. Flashy, watery mirrors have a bold reflection that contrasts nicely against the devices. Wonderful peripheral toning in shades of blue, teal, and rich amber-gold frame both sides, imparting a very high end visual allure, that is better than most at this grade level. 50C 1909 PCGS PR65 CAM CAC. Exceptional contrast for the date, especially on the reverse, the eye appeal of this highly reflective GEM is stunning. Dappled toning sparkles from the underlying mirrors, giving this amazing coin a great look. All the coins are well matched with nothing any more serious than a few tiny lines, visible only with strong magnification and at certain angles in a light. The silver issues had mintages of only 650 pieces. Over the years, how many of these sets have been broken up? Finding highly original, matched sets like this is becoming increasingly hard to do! The combined Collectors Universe value is listed at $10,150. These sets really should be worth more than the sum of its individual parts, and with this set’s great eye appeal and quality, it will sell for more. Good luck! ESTIMATE: $10,000+ 67
LOT 55 1C 1883 PCGS PR67 RB CAC FROM THE YOUNG-DAKOTA COLLECTION Where is the brown?! This coin displays a deep brick red color with highly reflective mirrors. While the color is not bright coppery-red like it just fell from the dies, there is no other color than RED on this coin; it is just toning down some. The dies were heavily polished, as evidenced by the richness of the mirrors and the frostiness of the reliefs. At certain angles you might actually think this SUPERB gem is a CAMEO. PCGS 5, NGC 5, CAC 1.The last time one sold in auction was in the 2017 FUN auction, realizing $4,700. Previously a non-CAC coin with way more brown and blue toning realized nearly $5,600 in August 2014. This SUPERB GEM has much better eye appeal than that one, and should sell for more. The current Collectors Universe price is $6,250. None are graded numerically finer, although there is a single PCGS PR67 RD finer which has not sold in over a dozen years! Perhaps the finest PCGS coin obtainable in the current market, and well worth a very strong bid from the specialist collector! Over the years, just three examples have sold in auction, most recently a pair in November 2012, which realized $1,645 and $529. The current Collectors Universe value is listed at $650. LOT 58 1C 1909 V.D.B. MATTE PROOF. PCGS PR65 RB CAC FROM THE YOUNG-DAKOTA COLLECTION From the first year of this ever popular series, the 1909 V.D.B. Matte Proof cent is one of the rarest dates in the entire series. Despite a mintage of 1,194, which is the 3rd lowest in the Matte Proof series, it is thought that between 400 and 600 were actually sold to collectors, the rest, either destroyed at the mint or met some other unfortunate fate. Today, PCGS CoinFacts notes that around 200 are known in all grades (Population Report data from PCGS and NGC bear this out, with 192 graded in designations combined). With the lowest survival rate among the series, demand for this issue has done nothing but go up over the years, especially for beautifully preserved GEMs such as the coin offered here. Stunning, satiny matte surfaces offer a bold vibrance. Ample original RED color blazes in the protected areas of the design, mellowing to a soft brown. Rotation in a light reveals some very attractive violet overtones, particularly on the reverse. Some very minor flecks seen on both sides are a testament to the total originality of this highly eye appealing beauty. A single tiny mark on the reverse near the O in ONE will serve as a pedigree marker for years to come. The eye appeal is amazing! This is a date that because of its huge demand has led to hoarding. We know of a single holding that has been offered that contains over 50 pieces of the approximate 200 known. PCGS 30, NGC 14, CAC 6. Do not let the population reports fool you! No CAC-approved example in PR65 RB has ever sold in auction. Going back to 1996, the auction prices database shows just 11 PCGS PR65 RBs selling in auction. A casual perusal of the examples offered this decade show none that have the eye appeal of the presently offered coin, indeed, we like it as much as the PR66 RB that we sold in July 2018 for $55,813. As such, the current Collectors Universe value of $32,500 is easily going to be surpassed when bidding opens on this fabulous Lincoln cent rarity! Who knows when you might have the chance to bid on another. PCGS# 3301 | ESTIMATE: $32,000+ 69
LOT 59 1C 1910 PCGS PR66 RB CAC FROM THE YOUNG-DAKOTA COLLECTION A gorgeously toned GEM Matte Proof has spectacular eye appeal. A whirling blend of azure, violet, and green blends with gold and brown over the original red color. The matte surfaces are satiny with a bold mint glow. The sandblast texture shows off wonderful facets that sparkle in the light The devices are sharply impressed on both sides. The eye appeal is exceptional. PCGS 34, NGC 9, CAC 18. Over the years, only seven PCGS/CAC examples have sold in auction, ranging from a low of $1,293 to a high of $4,830, with the most recent selling in a March 2017 Internet only auction for $1,580. The current PCGS Price Guide value is $1,550 and just nine examples are graded higher in the RB designation. This marvelous GEM will see strong bidding for sure! Superior surfaces are fully matte like. Even using a strong glass, you not find a single flaw. There is a light luster. Totally original and eye-popping colors of blue/green/brown/violet swirl all over creating an unforgettable color pattern. Lincoln and every detail are needle sharp in strike. The eye appeal is unreal!” PCGS 66, NGC 18, CAC 16.
