Legend Rare Coin Auctions is honored to offer the Oak Collection of Circulation Strike $3 Gold Pieces as the anchor collection to Regency Auction 52, which will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022 in New Orleans. This marvelous set ranks as the current #3 Basic Date Set, Circulation Strikes, and #4 Complete Set on the PCGS Set Registry and is complete save for an 1855-S and the unique 1870-S (which is impounded in the Harry W. Bass Core Collection on display at the American Numismatic Association’s Money Museum in Colorado Springs). The Oak Collector has been a long time customer of Legend Rare Coin Auctions, and his collection of Carson City Half Eagles highlighted our May 2018 Regency Auction. For years, our client has sought with the eye of a connoisseur the best pieces he could find for the particular dates. This effort paid off, and the quality of these coins is exceptional, as evidenced by the fact that the majority of the coins 31 out of 39 have  received approval by CAC. A few of the coins were designated Prooflike by PCGS, and there are a few ex Bass and ex Pogue Collection coins.
