THE LRCA DIFFERENCE Our boutique style Regency Auctions are ideal to showcase the Duplicates from the Tom Bender Collection. As you know, our Regency Auctions are carefully curated and contain only the finest quality rare coins, and your coins will fit perfectly in our model. We will offer your Type Coins, duplicate Indian Head cents, and duplicate Lincoln cents as its own individual session in our Regency Auction 51, an official auction of the Central States Numismatic Society Convention. By offering your coins in a single owner session, there will be no duplication of coins offered later on in that session to compete with your coins. Your coins will be cataloged to their finest advantage by our senior numismatist, Greg Cohen and every coin will be imaged by our in house specialist and art director, Patrick Braswell. The descriptions and photographs will be used to create a spectacular presentation of the Collection. As you know, your collection will be presented in our fully illustrated, hardbound catalog, which becomes a wonderful keepsake for you to remember your collection. With my leadership every step of the way, your coins will be marketed in all the major numismatic publications and websites, including: PCGS (PCGS.com and the PCGS Rare Coin Market Report); Coin Dealer Newsletter (CDN) and CDN Exchange; the CAC Collectors Price Guide (CAC CPG); CoinWorld; and CoinWeek.com. We will also utilize our relationships with the Fox-Greenberg Public Relations firm and get press coverage in the main stream, non-numismatic press (coins from the recently concluded Regency Auction 50 were covered in Barons, The Asbury Park Press, the Wall Street Journal, and elsewhere). Since our founding nearly a decade ago, Legend Rare Coin Auctions has strove for excellence in both the types of coins we have offered and the quality focus of our sales lead directly to strong prices. Over the years, Legend’s auctions have realized many world record prices. With the strength of the coin market the last two years, we have seen many coins bring prices that far exceeded our estimates and consignors’ expectations; in all series from small cents, to early and rare date gold, and beyond! For the Tom Bender Collection, Part 1, Legend Rare Coin Auctions will pay the consignor the full hammer, plus 10.5%, resulting in the firm making a “net” commission of 7%. Your coins will be marketed through our marketing campaign and your coins will be displayed at the upcoming Mid- Winter ANA show in Colorado Springs, The Whitman Coin Expo in Baltimore, as well as having in-office viewing opportunities prior to the Central States show, where we will have the official lot viewing. Once we have had the chance to review the coins in hand, we will discuss first any coins that night have the potential for upgrade at PCGS and work on any needed CAC submissions. We will do what needs to be done to help maximize the value of this group of coins.

Consisting of early copper, silver and gold, the collection has the majority of the coins grading AU55 to AU58. Highlighted by an incredible Garrett 1798 $5 Small Eagle, every date from 1792 to 1808 is represented as well as countless Red Book varieties. The set is named the “St. Jude” collection and is listed as such under the PCGS registry. One thing Jay and I have done is constantly upgrade the set over the years when a better more appealing specimen became available. As such we had many duplicates, of which several were recently sold in your Regency sales. To say the “St. Jude” collector is pleased would be an understatement !
