Sticky Keys is a Microsoft Windows accessibility feature that causes modifier keys to remain active, even after they were pressed and released, making it easier to use keyboard shortcuts. The Sticky Keys feature helps alleviate some stress on your fingers by not having to press and hold keys to use keyboard shortcuts. You only need to press and release a modifier key, like ctrl, alt or shift, then press the next key for the keyboard shortcut. For example, instead of having to press ctrl, alt or shift at the same time, you can press each of the keys individually to perform the same function. How to enable or disable Sticky Keys? The Sticky Keys feature is enabled or disabled (turned on and off) through the Accessibility Options or Ease of Access Center in the Windows Control Panel. You can also press Shift five times to open the option. Sticky keys also refers to one or more keys on the keyboard that are sticking because of a substance spilled into the keyboard. See our computer cleaning page for help with cleaning a keyboard and other computer components. What Does Toggle Key Mean? A toggle key is a key that is used to turn a function on or off, or to switch between two functions. Examples of toggle keys are the caps lock key, number lock key and scroll lock key. A toggle key can also be used as an accessibility option to alternate the input mode of keys. Explanation:- Toggle Key A toggle key toggles the input from other keys on the keyboard between different input modes. The most commonly used toggle key is

the caps lock key, which alternates the letter keys between uppercase and lowercase. Num lock is another toggle key which helps to input numerals from the numeric keyboard and is turned on by default. Another example of a toggle key is the scroll lock key, which allows arrow keys to scroll through window's contents and allows users to scroll without depending on the scroll bar. The insert key is another example of a toggle key, and it toggles between overtype mode and insert mode while entering text. A toggle key, unlike modifier keys, is turned on or off when pressed — they need not be held down while pressing other keys. Most keyboards have lights indicating whether the keys are switched on or off. Some operating systems and applications also display the toggle key status on the screen. Filter keys: Filter Keys is an accessibility feature that instructs the keyboard to ignore brief or repeated keystrokes in order to make typing easier for users with hand tremors. To activate Filter Keys – Press and hold the Right Shift key for 8 seconds. Sound sentry:- Sound Sentry is an accessibility feature designed for people who have difficulty hearing system sounds generated by the computer. Sound Sentry allows you to change the settings to generate visual warnings, such as a blinking title bar or a screen flash, whenever the computer you are using generates a sound. Mouse Keys Mouse Keys is an accessibility feature that uses the keyboard’s Numeric Keypad as a pointing device. This replaces using the mouse as a pointing device. To activate Mouse Keys – Press Alt + Left Shift + Num Lock. A tone sounds and the Mouse Keys dialog appears. By default, the cursor is on the Yes button. Press the space bar to turn on Mouse Keys.

Once activated, press the Num Lock key to toggle between normal cursor operation and mouse emulation mode. Serial Key Transfer When software is sold via a digital distribution platform, the ability to down- load the software is tied to a serial key that becomes a part of the user’s account upon purchase.142 A serial key is a piece of data that becomes embedded in the computer, and identifies that computer to the digital distributor.143 It allows the purchaser of the key to download her copy of the software from the publisher’s server.
