The new EAM Discussion processes have been designed and developed by the Office of Finance and Services with support from the NSW Treasury and in collaboration with industry throughout and endorsed by the Asset Management Council. Jamie Maslen, NSW Department of Treasury and Finance Asset Management Subject Matter Expert (SME), has been heavily involved in the development of the business process standards specifically relating to their alignment with ISO 55000. He shares what the processes mean for organisations involved in the management of public sector assets and what it means to be aligned with ISO 55000.11:05 – 11:20 How to Complete a Survey in less than 15 Minutes SPM Assets Master Class Lauren Staddon The data collection process can often be perceived as a long and labourous process. SPM Assets has been surveying or inspecting buildings for 15 years and is constantly refining and improving the process. Much of this knowledge has been built into the SPM Assets software to make the process as efficient and effective as possible. Peter Mowchanuk demonstrates how quickly and effectively a survey can be completed in the field using the Mobile tool and it’s associated ‘smarts’. With a holistic approach to caring for those most vulnerable in the community Wesley Mission owns and maintains a significant portfolio of properties in order to deliver its services. Pam Waterhouse and Ken McPhail of Wesley Mission’s Major Development Projects team, share why effective asset management is an important aspect of service delivery for the organisation. Pam and Ken also outline their experience working with SPM Assets’ services team in order to better understanding the state of Wesley Mission’s asset base and how the organisation will further build on this knowledge in the future.11:30 - 12:00 Thinking Long Term - Moving from a Reactive to Planned Approach SPM Assets Steve Lyons Asset Thinking longer term and moving to a planned approach to asset management means aManagement change of mind set for many organisations. In this hands on session Marcus Xavier takes you through an example scenario within SPM Assets to illustrate how to produce an evidence based five year works programme of projects and repairs.
