What Do I Need to Begin? • Tablets can also have both pressure sensitivity and tilt-response. Meaning both the pressure and the angle of the stylus affects the digital brush. There are many companies that produce graphics tablets, the most notable being Wacom, XP-Pen, and Huion. (I use a Wacom Intuos) • Some tablets that can be used for digital painting include: iPads, Microsoft Surfaces, and the Wacom Mobile Studio. • NOTE: I don’t promote any specific product, software or hardware. These are suggestions from research into cost effective technology for beginners. You can always use your existing technology.
What Software Do I Need? • Software ranges from programs that are intended to mimic traditional painting programs such as Corel Painter to image manipulation software such as Adobe Photoshop. • There are different benefits to each digital painting program so it depends on how the artist wishes to work and which tools are important to them. • It also depends on the cost of these programs with many switching to a subscription based model instead of a single once off purchase such as Clip Studio Paint, formerly known as Manga Studio. • Many of the digital painting software for computers have an app version for standalone tablets, but there are also apps designed entirely for them. Procreate is one of these apps. (NEXT) • NOTE: I don’t promote any specific product, software or hardware. These are suggestions from research into cost effective technology for beginners. You can always use your existing technology.
How Can I try it for Free? • There are many “free” options available. • Your computer comes with generic “paint” tools depending on whether you use a MS Windows computer or Apple device. You can also consider using any of the free apps available for your phone (android or iPhone) • (NEXT) • NOTE: I don’t promote any specific product, software or hardware. How Can I try it for Free? ogram created by a team of artists that wished to make digital drawing tools available for everyone. This application is great for creating digitally painted works such as concept art, comics, and oil paintings. • Krita is a great option for both beginner and novice digital artists. It offers limited capabilities for photo editing and animation, so it may not be the best option for professional artists looking for these features. • Price: Krita is FREE. You can purchase a paid version with updates for $9.79. • Website: Krita You can download it here… Please don’t download from any other site. I can’t guarantee it. Features: • Over 100 brush options • Versatile color selector • Bezier tool for drawing professional lines and curves • Workflow switching by editing panel layout • Smart patch tool • NOTE: I have no financial interest in promoting any product.
