“ÇARŞAMBA’YI SEL ALDI” THE STORY OF THE TURKUS Ahmet lost his heart to a young and attractive girl named Melek. He noticed Ahmet and opened his heart. They were promised and after a while Ahmet left the village while he was performing his military service. It meant a lifetime for the angel. Mehmet Ali did not see anyone but Melek Ahmet. When Melek rejects Mehmet Ali, Mehmet Ali and a few of his men have Melek on the mountain because the reputation of the village chief will be shaken. He deserted from the military and started looking for Melek. Ahmet, choosing tomorrow, it rained one day and the Green River overflowed, Wednesday turned into a lake. The flood swallowed everything like an avalanche from the peaks of the Canik Mountains to the foothills. After life returned to normal, the villagers gathered in the village square. They saw the bodies of two people on a rock. They saw that it belonged to Ahmet and Melek. They were lying there holding hands. Rumor has it that the large boulder broke apart from its seven places, and a cypress-size water gushed out of one of them. The villagers prayed. These Prayers have become verses expressing people's pain for years. The Folk Song That Flooded Wednesday was also born from these prayers. It was known as the 'Değirmenbaşı'. The wooden mill had seven stones. It was considered good luck to walk seven times over the embankment that gives water to its seven gutters, and to throw water over the right and left shoulder seven times. The tradition repeated in Hıdırellez lasted until the mill's destruction in the 1970s.

“YÜKSEK YÜKSEK TEPELERE” THE STORY OF THE TURKUS In the old-fashioned Malkara, there is a beautiful 15-year-old girl named Zeynep. One day, Ağa has a wedding in the village. “ÇAYIR ÇİMEN GEZE GEZE” THE STORY OF THE TURKUS Every song has a story that is true or created by people. There is also a story in the folk song Çayır, Çimen, Geze Geze,’ Wandering Through Meadow and Grasses’ . Rumor has it that a young boy loves a young girl. These two young people see each other in a meadow and meet in that meadow. But let's face it, he won't give this girl to this young man, but his family and these two lovers are separated from each other. The separated lovers get very upset, they begin to suffer from love. No matter what way they try, they cannot meet and they find the solution in really leaving. But in the meantime, the young girl repeatedly asks her family, but in vain. Finally, the young boy comes to the girl's door and begins to sing improvised folk songs in front of the girl's door to remind him of meeting in the meadow; meadow grass for a trip. Then, because they didn't give the girl away, I went on a trip to the meadow and grass to show that he was singing the song all the time, so he continued the song as a talker.

“ORDUNUN DERELERİ” THE STORY OF THE TURKUS Years ago, two young people lived in one of the remote villages of Ordu. Mehmet, whose financial situation is good, fell in love with the young girl, Hacer, whose financial situation was not as good as him. The young girl was so beautiful that it blew Mehmet's mind. By the way, Mehmet was also very handsome. He used to drag young girls with him to the grave. The love between Mehmet and Hacer, who destroyed his surroundings with her beauty, was similar to the great loves in the past. On certain days of the week, they would meet at the bottom of the currant tree. They wouldn't even notice the passing hours, eye to eye, knee to knee. But there are many who are jealous of this beautiful union. The other envious girls of the village destroyed this sweet union with their intrigues. They produced incredible rumors against the young girl and finally caused Mehmet to leave his beloved and his village. Mehmet, who went abroad with such a deep sadness, left behind a girl with tears in his eyes, a troubled, bedridden mother who could not get up. The girl Hacer, whose heart was burned in great pain, used to go to the side of the stream that flowed near her house every day. While hanging the snow-white laundry he washed on the fence, he kept the whole village moaning with a song he kept on his lips. Unfortunately, neither Mehmet heard the cry of Hacer, nor the well-intentioned neighbors who intervened could find a

solution to this issue. The house where all the neighbors go and go has turned into a house of mourning. Months passed like this after that day. Neither Mehmet nor Hacer went to his beloved; but Hacer's heart is burned, she always sang this song in sorrow. my Mehmet, my Mehmet, I didn't say I was upset with you. They passed me over to you, By God, I didn't say it. There is truth in these words of Hacer. Unfortunately, the heartfelt girl, the troubled girl, could not convey her grief to the one she loved. Those who intervened could not cope with the task. Thus, years passed. Mehmet stayed abroad, and Hacer girl was by the creek... She both cried and sang the ORDU'S DREAMS folk song until she died. Since then, this song has survived to the present day.

“İKİ KEKLİK” THE STORY OF THE TURKUS 'Two Partridges' is a folk song that was burned to her son by Şöhret Hanım, the wife of coffeemaker Mehmet Şevket Efendi, one of the people of Güre Village, Edremit district of Balıkesir. Sarıkamış is famous for its snow and boran, the place where soldiers will write epics with bare feet. Is it okay not to go? Everywhere is the land of the homeland. They are headed by Enver Pasha. His job is to open the roads for the soldiers to pass. The soldiers pile up the snow, which is meters high, with their feet and hands, and open the place where they can pass. Who knows, maybe he is clearing the snow with bare feet. Didn't those who went there die a martyr without ever seeing a military boat? Let his mother walk around in high-heeled shoes; his son is scooping up the snow with his bare feet. It is not a job to be done without the homeland in question, but as we said, the homeland is in question! Will the snow of Sarıkamış end with sobering? But they are working out of breath. They have almost become stubborn with the snow and the winter. Then, as he stretched out his feet to clear a large mass of snow, the snowy mountains engulf this valiant Anatolian son. And never heard from again. Black news is heard fast. The

news reaches this village of Balıkesir from the frosty country where whites are falling from the sky like rain. They are looking for the mother but cannot find it? No! They go to the right, they go to the left… Finally, they find him at the top of a deserted rock, having trouble with the partridges. Maybe he's telling the partridges out there about his son, his soul piece! He asks them about his son. He wants them to bring news from distant lands. Let alone saying it like that, someone comes to him from the village side, but this is not a normal arrival! He is hoping is it his son? then… An old man out of breath is telling the dark news. His hand is on his feet. Before he can't breathe.Then he collapses where he sits, sobbing. “HOŞ GELİŞLER OLA” THE STORY OF THE TURKUS This work, which was dedicated to the great leader Atatürk on behalf of the Azerbaijani people, by the Azerbaijani composer Mehmet Türkel Bey, was read for the first time on October 6, 1924, at the welcoming ceremony at the Kars train station when Atatürk came to Kars, and was also played as a play. Local musicians and actors who heard about this visit came together and prepared a play to be played for him at the welcoming ceremony. Then, journalist Mehmet Türker writes the words of the play. Local musician Tağı Bey (Tağı Oşenyüzen) also composes these lyrics in their current form. First of all, Tağı Bey and other folklorists of that period first played for Gazi Mustafa Kemal Pasha in the welcoming ceremony at Kars Station. Pasha gets emotional. It rewards the songwriter and composer of the play. It is said that Composer Tağı Bey had a great financial problem and could not stand it for long and committed suicide. There is a check for 500 liras given by Ata in his house. It is said that he could not bear to cash that check despite all the troubles he went through because it was Ata's signature. It is known that this work was later adopted and read with love in every corner of Turkey. Muzaffer Sarısözen listened to the local team during the compilations of Kars region and added it to the TRT archive. “MİHRİBAN” THE STORY OF THE TURKUS There will be a wedding in the village, guests from the surrounding area begin to arrive. The young Abdurrahim sees a young girl in his village, the girl he sees is the guest girl who came to the neighbor's wedding with her family. It would be nice to meet… Mihriban literally means: compassionate, merciful, affectionate, smiling, mild-tempered. This girl has done the same things as her own adjective. As their stay progresses, the love progresses. One morning, Abdurrahim gets up and goes to see his lover, whom he named Mihriban, and the guests are gone. Abdurrahim's world now changes, life has become meaningless, the pain of love hurts his heart… His family, seeing this situation, goes to Maraş to find the girl, after a long search, they find the girl's family and want her. First they say \"the girl is small\", they find excuses. “ÇAKICI EFE” THE STORY OF THE TURKUS Çakırcalı (Çakıcı) Mehmet Efe went to the mountain in response to the murder of his father Çakırcalı Ahmet Efe, who is a Zeybek like him, by the Bosnian Sergeant, Hasan Sergeant. During his zeybek rule, which lasted for about 15 years, he entered into many conflicts and killed many of his opponents. One of them is Kamali Mustafa Efe, who once had family friends and friendships. One of Çakırcalı Mehmet Efe's daughters will be kidnapped from Kamalı Mustafa's village, Kışla. Zeybeks accidentally kidnap Kamali's wife at night. Although Çakırcalı Mehmet, who understands the situation, immediately sends the woman back and apologizes to Kamali, the matter turns into an honor case. When Kamalı learns about the incident, he goes to the mountain and joins the gang of Çakırcalı Mehmet's enemy Köselioğlu Efe. Çakırcalı, who ambushed the Köselioğlu gang during a feast, kills Efe, while Kamali escapes with an injury in his leg. After that, the two efe, whose hostility increased even more, entered into a fierce struggle. Finally, Kamalı Zeybek, who attended the dinner party held in Birgi, was attacked by Çakırcalı Mehmet Efe and shot dead by his chief zeybek, Hacı Mustafa. Many laments were sung and folk songs were sung on the death of Kamalı Zeybek, a tall, handsome and brave efe. After this incident, for Çakırcalı (Çakıcı) Efe, who remained unrivaled for a while, the following folk song, which is widely sung in the region, was sung: \"The poplars of İzmir fall, their leaves fall off, they call us Çakıcı (I'm tall sapling) We destroy the mansions My selvi is not taller than you.\" Zeybek was shot in Kamali (I'm tall as a sapling) I have nothing to say to Çakıcı.\" The folk song compiled and notated by the source person Ekrem Güyer by Muzaffer Sarısözen has been recorded in the TRT archive with the repertoire number 337. Discussions have been going on for years on the first line of the Turkish song, \"The Poplars of Izmir\". There are many people who claim that the first pronunciation of Turkish is \"Ödemiş poplars\" or even \"Birgi's poplars\".
