Thedesignwasawin-winsolutionforwarungusers, government,androadusers.Warungownersandlovers couldstillenjoyeatingatwarung,thegovernmentwould resolvetheissueoftrafficandscarcityofland,androad userswouldexperiencelesstrafficjam ‘ScarcityofLand’-ArchitecturalDesignV 2014

Nevertheless,Stornowayhasitsowncharm. Itwithstandsthousandyearsofhistoryandit hastransformedintothebiggesttowninthe OuterHebrides.Captivatedbytheambienceof coastaltownanditsvibrantbuildingcolours, Mungkiaimedtoshowthebeautyoftheisle throughtheurbanperspective.
RAINBOW S AT FLOW COUNTRY Thisfilm wasmadeasresponsefrom afieldtriptoCaithnessinthenorthofScotland.Weatherphenomenonwasveryobservableinthisarea. Havingrapidchanges,thereweremultitudesofrainbowfoundinthevistas.Theexperienceofwitnessingabundantrainbowsinthelandscape wasbeingreplicatedthroughoutthisfilm. Thisfilm wasselectedtobepartoffilm libraryatRoyalHospitalforSickChildrenEdinburghopenedin2019.

blue Aimingtostopandslowpassers-bydown,afilm pieceentitled‘blue’ wasback-projectedwithinthefirstfloorofEvolutionHouse. Thefourglasspanelsweretransformedintoahugeprojectionscreen showingthemovementofcalmingwaves.Thescaleoftheworkwas monumentalinordertoachievethemesmericeffectperceivedfrom theimposingtraitofanocean.Thework’sgentlepaceandmovement setavisualcounterpointtothefranticpaceoflifeonthestreetbelow, calmingthespectatorandraisingconciousnessofthenaturalworld. Theexposureoflandscapeimageryintheurbanenvironmentcould provideaconceptualalternativeof‘beingaway’from lifeinurbanto ‘nature’.Thepresenceofa‘blue’and‘green’ina‘grey’environmentalso actasanunexpectedvisualexperienceforthepedestrians,itsabstract form couldonlybeinderstoodwhenpeopletakeabreak andexaminethework. W ATER SURFACE “Wearebeginningtolearnthatourbrainsarehardwiredtoreactpositivelytowaterandthatbeingnearitcancalm andconnectus” BlueMind:TheSurprisingScienceThatShowsHowBeingNear,In,On,orUnderWaterCanMakeYouHappier,Healthier,MoreConnected,andBetteratWhatYouDo(2014).
FLOW Flowisacollaborativeworkinaform ofsculpturalinstallation.Abstractfilmswereprojectedonasuspendedfabricwithprintedpoetictexts thatcorrespondthefilm.Usingnaturallandscapeimageries,theartistscreatedaninteractivebuiltenvironmentwithcalmingambience. Visitorsarefreetoexpresstheirfeelinginthisspace,eithersitting,standingstill,orplayingwiththefabric.

TheLandArtGeneratorInitiative(LAGI)isaninternational,biennaledesigncompetitionwithabrieftodesignlargescalepublicartworkscapableof generatingrenewableenergy. Ateam consistingofeightstudentsfrom variousbackgroundworkedtogethertocreateanimmersivcseriesofsculpturesformedoftransparentglasssolar panelsfortheSt.KildatriangleinMelbourne,Australia.Theproposeddesignnotonlyseamlesslyembeddeditselfintotolandscapeandprovidedunique experiencesforindividualsinthespace,butwasalsoabletooptimisetheefficiencyofthetechnologyimplementedthroughtheutilisationofaparametric design,layeringtheglasssolarpanelsastomaximisetheamountofinfraredlighttheycouldcapture.Additionally,themodulardesignallowedforfuture expansionoftheworkbasedoncurrentenergydemand,withtheinitialamountofenergyproductionbeing690MWh. Response-ability MultidisciplinarytalklinkingtowetlandpracticesinScotlandandSouthEastAsiaincommemorateofWorldWetlandDay.MungkiDewiwasshowing theparticipantsofthestrangesmellofapalm oilsample,Dewitalkedabouthowshebegantoworkwithpalm oilasamaterialduringthefirstyearofher masterstudy.Herartwork“Hand”wasexhibitedatEdinburghCentreforCarbonInnovationduringthe2016EdinburghScienceFestival.Atfirstsight viewersmightrecognizetheworkasahumanhandprint.Butlookingcloseupyoucanseeitcannotbe.ItwasOrangutan’s.Theorangutanhandprintwas madefrom palm oilwhichhasastrongodourthatoffersanothersensetothework.Orangutansareoneofthedirectvictimsofpalm oilindustryin Indonesia.Theworkspeakstheironyofhuman,whoiscloselyrelatedtoapes,biologicallywastheonethatcausedthelossoftheirhabitat.
