Scripture Reading 1 Timothy 3:1-7 1 This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. 2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; 3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; 4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; 5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?) 6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil. 7 Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil
Wholly Thine 1 I would be, dear Savior, wholly Thine; Teach me how, teach me how; I would do Thy will, O Lord, not mine; Help me, help me now. Refrain Wholly Thine, wholly Thine, Wholly Thine, this is my vow; Wholly Thine, wholly Thine, Wholly Thine, O Lord, just now. 2 What is worldly pleasure, wealth or fame, Without Thee, without Thee? I will leave them all for Thy dear Name, This my wealth shall be. 3 As I cast earth’s transient joys behind, Come Thou near, come Thou near; In Thy presence all in all I find, ’Tis my comfort here.
Watch Ye Saints 1 Watch, ye saints, with eyelids waking; Lo! The powers of heaven are shaking; Keep your lamps all trimmed and burning, Ready for your Lord’s returning. Refrain Lo! He comes, lo! Jesus comes; Lo! He come, He comes all glorious! Jesus comes to reign victorious, Lo! He comes, yes, Jesus comes. 2 Lo! the promise of your Savior, Pardoned sin and purchased favor, Blood-washed robes and crowns of glory; Haste to tell redemption’s story. 3 Kingdoms at their base are crumbling, Hark! His chariot wheels are rumbling; Tell, O tell of grace abounding, While the seventh trump is sounding. 4 Nations wane, though proud and stately; Christ His kingdom hasteneth greatly; Earth her latest pangs is summing; Shout, ye saints, your Lord is coming. 5 Sinners, come, while Christ is pleading; Now for you He’s interceding; Haste, ere grace and time diminished Shall proclaim the mystery finished.
Malon Danley Peters was born on July 6, 1984, to Joy Peters and the late Clarry Junity Joseph who hails from the village of Beausejour, St. George. Malon has twelve siblings, 7 brothers and 5 sisters. During his formative years, Malon attended the Happy Hill Primary and later the Happy Hill Secondary School. At age 14, he went to a stereo to listen to Buju Banton, one of his favourite reggae artists, but instead found a gospel cassette which his mother brought from England and placed on the player. His encounter with God began as he was listening to the song \"Come Just as You Are, won't you hear the Spirit Call.\" In tears, he made the deliberate choice to fully accept Jesus and later requested baptism; during a meeting with Dr. Clinton Lewis, the district pastor at the time. He was baptized at the Concord River on May 7, 1999, and he joined the Concord SDA Church. Malon went on to the world of work after completing secondary school. He is a skilled tradesman, farmer, as well as an experienced and Licensed fisherman. In the year 2006, the Ministry of Youth awarded Malon, for exemplary performance in the field of Agriculture. So skilled was he in this area that plans were being made for him to further his study in the said field. However, because of his passion and yearning for Godliness he chose a different path. The Beausjour congregation was established in 2002 after a crusade held by Pastor Enoch Isaac adjacent to the Beausejour Playing Field. At the age of 18, Malon began serving in various offices in the church, including: First Elder, Personal Ministries Leader, AY Leader, Pathfinder Director, Deacon, Communication Secretary, and even Chorister. Whilst serving at the Beausejour congregation, the late Bro. Oswin Murrell, became not just a guiding leader, but also a friend and father figure. Bro. Murrell who saw Malon's potential, constantly encouraged him to make the decision to go and study Theology but Malon was very hesitant, and at times got incredibly angry with Elder Murrell’s persistence. However, little did Malon Know that it was God leading the charge. One Wednesday evening while he was leading out in a prayer service, the President of the Conference Dr. Clinton Lewis and his wife Sister Femma Lewis entered. He welcomed them and proceeded. After the service, Sister Femma Lewis commended him, and then asked, have you ever thought of going to Trinidad? He said, not really, she then reply, “you should consider it”. He battled with this weight of reluctance as appose to God deliberation on his life for a while. In the 2009, Malon finally accepted the call to Pastoral Ministry and was accepted to the University of the Southern Caribbean in Maracas Valley, Trinidad. He attended USC from January 2010 until December 2013, formally graduating from university in May 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology with an emphasis in Pastoral Ministry. Malon met his fiancé Tonya in 2011, while they were students attending the University of the Southern Caribbean. It was during the sojurn at USC their love for each other was formalize and cemented. The bond was crystalized on December 21, 2014, at the Breath of Life SDA Church in Barbados when Tonya accepted his hand in marriage at her home church. Pastor Malon Peters entered the Gospel Ministry on January 1st, 2014, in Grenada as a Ministerial Intern in the Eastern 1 district which comprises the churches of Paradise, Telescope, Mt. Horne and Moyah. He worked under the supervision of two senior pastors, Pastor Christopher Williams and Pastor Isaac Andrew.
He was appointed the district pastor of the Eastern 2 district of Richmond, Soubise and Mt. Fann, upon completion of his internship. It was during his tenure in the Eastern 2 district, that on May 11th, 2018, the Peters family welcomed their daughter, Maliya Eliana Peters. Unfortunately, after 8 months of health challenges, Maliya passed away on January 21st, 2019. This little family is looking forward to that day when Christ comes again where “little children are borne by the angels to their parents’ arms.” Pastor Peters is currently serving in the South-Eastern District of Seventh-day Adventists, the churches are: Crochu, Marlmount, Corinth and Westerhall. Pastor Malon Peters is currently in his final year pursuing a Master of Arts in Biblical and theological Studies with an emphasis in Old Testament Theology from the Inter American Theological Seminary of Seventh-day Adventists. Pastor Peters can be considered a very Spiritual, assertive, jovial, and no-nonsense individual. His greatest Joy is to see people give their lives to Jesus and as a result he has developed a love for evangelism and biblical expository preaching. He presently serves as Grenada’s Pastoral representative on the Caribbean Union Conference Executive Committee. Pastor Peters has two (2) guiding philosophies which reads “Life is not determine by the physical construct of a man, but rather upon the ethical, moral and spiritual principles He establish, and those He follows” and the second which states “Before you judge my present realities, pause and take a read into my long winding history”. Pastor Peters has attributed his development to a multitude of individuals, but he would like to single out a few. Firstly, sincere thanks to the almighty God for fulfilling his cause on his life thus far, and the many blessings he has bestowed upon him. He gives special thanks to his wife for being very tolerable and seeking to make ministry as less stressful as possible and acting as his secretary in a limited capacity at times. He reorganizes the role of his Mother Joy Peters Barker who played the role of both parents after loosing his dad at age 12. Pastor Peters says thanks to Pastor Enoch Isaac and Ashton O’Neil for their sound leadership and guidance in His development. He also extends thanks to Dr. Clinton Lewis, and his wife, Sister Femma Lewis, and by extension the Administration of GCSDA. Special mention is made of his Sister Venissa Peters/Parris, and all of the members of the Eastern 1 and 2 Districts. Pastor expresses gratitude to all of his adopted mothers, whose names are too numerous to mention. Lastly, Pastor expresses his deep appreciation and thanks to his present district for your love, prayers and support. Special mention is made of his team of Elders, he says, it is a joy working together with you in this ministry. Over the period of Nine years in Pastoral ministry, Pastor Peters has led over 190 persons to the foot of the cross. Today, as he is ordained to the Gospel Ministry, he would like to leave you his favourite text, Phillipians1:6 “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you,
will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ
On Sunday, 6th November 1977, Marlon Anderson Panchoo was born to Richard and Theresa Panchoo at the Princess Alice Hospital, Mirabeau, St. Andrew’s, Grenada. He is the first of three children, having two younger sisters Marlyn Panchoo Brookins and Misha Panchoo and the proud uncle of one niece Amelia Brookins. His formative years saw him living both in the villages of Mirabeau and Sabb, alternating between his grandparents’ home and parental home, a privilege he delighted in because of his grandmother’s favor. His spiritual journey officially began when he surrendered to Christ in baptism on June 4th 1994, at a crusade held in Victoria Park, Grenville by Pastor Nord C. Punch. The importance of how his early years of attending the Mirabeau SDA church has shaped his faith was never lost on him. One year while on a mission trip he heard a friend playing an old but familiar melody on a dusty piano they stumbled upon in the basement of a church in Niagara Canada. Puzzled, he inquired and was reintroduced to the immortal hymn from the old hymnal, 654 Holy Day, Jehovah’s Rest. He believes that God preserve that melody in his heart as a child to strengthen his faith in a time when it was most needed. In his earlier years as a member of the Mirabeau S.D.A Church Marlon served as a Sabbath School Superintendent, AY Leader and Assistant Treasurer. His most memorably experience was at the age of 15 when he was engaged in preaching in a youth crusade alongside fellow youths Elvis Hillarie and Shereen Farray. Under the guidance of Elder Gwen Flemming Noel and Pastor Carlyle Wildman a seed was planted in his heart for the gospel ministry. Subsequently around 1998, he was invited to join the fellowship at the Morne Longue SDA Church to assist with the AY department along with brother Lyndon Thomas after a crusade held by Pastor Nord C. Punch. He is forever grateful for the learning and experience gained under the leadership of Elder Derick Alexander and the entire Morne Longue Church family. He fondly remembers the many sacrifices he observed being made. He is still mystified with the fact that Elder Derick’s Isuzu minibus usually packed with 38 persons travelling from the village of Sabb to Morne Longue would safely navigate the then perilous road. All these experiences helped strengthen his faith. It was during this time Marlon was ordained as an Elder of the local church Marlon’s primary school experience began at St. Michael’s Primary School at Byelands, St. Andrew’s and later at the St. Andrew’s R.C. School in Grenville. He then attended the St. Andrew’s Anglican Secondary School graduating in 1994. He then pursued studies at the T.A. Marryshow Community College in Sociology, History and Business Studies. Subsequently he also received certification in plumbing from the same institution. Marlon gained employment with the National Water and Sewerage Authority as a plumber, which he held for seven years until he resigned from his post in 2004 to pursue his studies. During the 2004/2005 school year, Marlon commenced undergraduate program at the then Caribbean Union College now the University of the Southern Caribbean majoring in Computer Science with an emphasis in Software Systems. During the summer vacation of 2005, he, like many other students sought to earn a scholarship through the colporteur ministry. He joined the Canada Youth Challenge and Drug Prevention Programme in the summer of 2005 going door to
door selling books. But after 14 weeks of hard, difficult work he traveled back to Trinidad penniless, failing to earn a scholarship. However, as daunting and hopeless as his future seemed, one thing was clear in his mind, he wanted to work for God. This revelation was made clear when on a particularly hot day after having multiple rejections and doors slammed in his face that he still felt no greater joy than being in service for God. It was then Marlon decided that on his return to Trinidad, his next course of action was to change majors and pursue a study in Pastoral Theology and commit his life to full time gospel ministry. With no money however, his future at the university seemed hopeless, but after many years of struggle and prayer, we say thank God for his continued faithfulness to provide for all our needs. Marlon graduated in 2011 from the University of the Southern Caribbean with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Pastoral Theology. In 2020, Pastor Panchoo attained a Master of Business Administration degree from the St. George’s University. In 2011 Pastor Panchoo began his pastoral internship with the Grenada Conference of Seventh- day Adventists. He had his first stint with Pastor Emmanuel Marshall at the Mirabeau SDA Church. Subsequently, he served under the supervision of Pastor Elvis Hillaire in the Grenadines district. His internship continued with Pastor Enoch Isaac in the Western district. His first District assignment was in the South-Central district, which was followed by the Eastern 1 District, followed by the assignment in the South Western District. Presently, he serves as District Pastor of the Grenadines. Pastor Panchoo is thankful to God for a journey filled with adversity but also one filled with awesome miracles. A special thanks to Dr. Clinton Lewis and the administration of the Grenada Conference. He expresses thanks to his fellow Ministerial colleagues, Elders and members of the various congregations he had the privilege of serving. Finally, Pastor Panchoo express thanks to his Family and friends all of whom have been part of his incredible journey. Special thanks and appreciation to the elders and members of the El Socorro, San Juan and Ebenezer SDA Churches in Trinidad. Pastor Panchoo’s guiding text is 2 Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Over the last twelve years of his Pastoral ministry, Pastor Panchoo has led over 240 persons to the foot of the cross.
