RMGPRESS RELEASEVISIT US AT: BOOTHS LEWIS Model 8TM 1812 & 2112 RMG Continues to Develop and Sell Modernized Lewis Machine Synchro/Cut Machines LEWIS Model 16TM Last year, RMG customers purchased our Lewis Machine model 8TM Synchro/Cut machines to process hard drawn spring wire with a tensile strength of 280 ksi that needed to be fatigue problem free. Our Synchro/Cut shear design minimized the stresses created by the rotary arbor during the shear sequence. This design allowed our customers to process material for applications that involved secondary bending and forming operations. This year, customers processing high tensile strength titanium wire found that our Synchro/Cut models were a perfect fit for their applications. The Synchro/Cut design eliminated material processing issues found in traditional stationary cut machines by maintaining consistent wire properties throughout the entire coil of processed titanium. This consistency produced a high quality finished product, reduced downtime, and increased production rates. These new models from RMG carry on the Lewis Machine legacy by incorporating new technology with proven, reliable designs which improve up time and increase productivity. We have a range of machines to handle high carbon steels and alloy materials from 2mm to 16mm with high tensile strengths. Please visit our website rmgfelm.com or contact us by phone at 815-624-2500 or email [email protected] to discuss your application and how we can help you meet the demands of your market. RMG will have the model 8TM Synchro-Cut machine on display and running product in Booth 2112 during the International Fastener Manufacturing Expo in Atlanta, May 14 – 16, 2019. 14343 Industrial Parkway South Beloit, Illinois 61080 815.624.2500 [email protected] www.rmgfelm.com

Depending on the application—from simple rings, hoops or frames to complex three-dimensional (3D) parts, star patterns or precise spirals—there are many effective and versatile machines out there to help you do the job of forming and bending wire or tube into useful and profitable products. The material to be processed can be round, flat or shaped and secondary operations including buttwelding, threading, piercing, punching, chamfering, swaging, etc., are often combined with the bending and forming operations. All machines use some type of feeding mechanism, which in some cases is patented. The bending of the wire or rod is done by slides or bending heads. The machines make use of one or more bending heads or slides, and some can bend two products at the same time. Some machines utilize bending tables that are horizontal, vertical or capable of tilting between the two positions. Tilting is often used to accommodate larger wire forms. PRODUCT SHOWCASE New Spring Coiler Series HTC currently produces CNC spring coiler machines for wire sizes ranging from 0.15 to 18 mm (0.006\" to HTC Spring Machinery and Forming Systems, Inc., 0.708\"). www.formingsystemsinc.com Schoolcraft, MI, USA, have announced the addition of the new HTC 60CLII, 5 axes CNC spring coiler with a wire range of 2.2 to 6.0 mm (0.086\" to 0.236\"). This new design replaces the previous HTC-60CL machine. The main design features that have changed from the previous HTC-60CL include: Larger feed motor, for increased power and higher feed speeds; All new feed transmission gear deign, to handle the higher speeds; Feed speed increased by approximately 30% faster than the previous HTC-60CL; and Higher accuracy. Other machine features include five programmable axes including feed, OD, vertical pitch, horizontal pitch and cutter. The touch screen interface simplifies programming, while the advanced coiling point system simplifies conversion from RH to LH coiling. As always, HTC is known for its straight forward and easy to use software. The camless operation provides fast and efficient set up and operation. Both rotating and straight cutoff are standard on the HTC coilers. Also, the mandrel in/ out movement is also programmable. This machine is also available in 8.0 mm size. Part Collector With Load Cell HSI Machinery and Forming Systems, Inc., Schoolcraft, MI, USA, have announced the addi- tion for the new PCL-100 parts collector with load cell, which now has the capability to change bins by count, by time and now by weight. Bin changes can be scheduled by count, by time or now by weight. The PCL-100 system’s compact size along with its caster design allow mobile operation. Applications for the PCL-100 parts collector include springs, stampings, screws, plastic parts, etc. The Human Machine Interface (HMI) panel allows connection of the PCL-100 parts collector with the production machine for automatic operation. The pneumatic clamps incorporated in the lifting unit ensure less noise and more stable operation. Additionally, the part collector’s system’s swinging chute prevents part damage during bin changes. A load cell provides overload protection. Also, optional stainless steel bins are available for the PCL-100 part collector. www.formingsystemsinc.com Spring 2019/Wire Forming Technology International 69
