MANAGER’S MESSAGE A tiny girl who lost her front teeth sings 'All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth!' We pray God to fulfil our needs, I mean we find happiness in receiving gifts and blessings from God, friends and relatives. Christmas is all about 'giving'. God the father gave us life out of His love for human beings and sends his only begotten son Jesus Christ to save the humanity from its sin, Mary gives herself to God to be instrumental in giving birth to Jesus Christ on the earth, Jesus gives himself to us with love in our own human body on the day of Christmas. Thus, the Joy of Christmas begins in Giving and Sharing. As we celebrate the post covid time Christmas of 2021, believe me the Joy of Christmas rests in Sharing and Giving what we have with everyone who is in need. Feel the wonder by sharing your time, your possessions, your happiness with the people around and that shall be the celebration of Christmas for all of us. Wish you all a joyful Christmas and a healthy new year 2022 ahead. Rev. Fr Renny John CMI MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL’S DESK Christmas is a season of great joy, a time for remembering the past and hoping for the future. This time of year brings festivities and family fun. It is a time for reminiscing and looking forward. A Christmas candle is a lovely thing; It makes no noise at all, but softly gives itself away, while quite unselfish, it grows small. Let our life be like a Christmas candle. During the miraculous time that is Christmas may you see with the eyes of a child, experience the wonder of love, and truly enjoy all that the season has to offer. Christmas is the perfect season to reach out to others when laughter and good tidings are in the air. May the spirit of the season bring you closer to those whom you cherish so much. As you celebrate the glory of this miraculous season, may your home be filled with love, peace, and joy. May this Christmas burn away all your sadness and bury the tears so that your live is perpetually filled with happiness and joy. May these blessings follow you throughout the New Year. Rev. Fr. Sebastin P J CMI 1
EDITORIAL “Peace and Hope to People on Earth” Christmas, the universal and the greatest feast of humanity is beyond religions cultures, casts and creeds. It is the celebration of Joy, Hope and Peace, Greetings and Gifts, Love and Concern, and especially the uncertainty principle float over the humanity during this pandemic; it is a beautiful and hopeful occasion for celebrating a happy and healthy harmony. Christmas invites us to focus more on its inner message and challenging values. I would like to share with you three simple messages on this Christmas season. They are Silence, Space and Simplicity. Three S. We are familiar with the Christmas carol Silent Night Holy Night. It is in inner silence we encounter ourselves. It is in silence we discover and experience the harmony between the divine and the human, harmony among the brethren harmony with the enveloping nature. Silence is the best source of spiritual energy of social strength and ecological energy. The second point is space. The one who did not get a room in the Inn, teaches us to leave same space in our heart for those in peril and poverty. Christmas inspires us to be open to the needy, to be compassionate to the suffering sections of society to the loving and condescending. During the Covid 19 pandemic we learned and practiced more to help the needy, let the sharing and caring be the part of our life. The third point is simplicity. Simplicity is the whole mark of Christmas. Poverty was the wealth of the one in the Cradle. The entire scene of the original Christmas was surrendered and decorated with utter simplicity. The presence of the Shepherds and settings spoke eloquently on the value of simplicity in life.Christmas gave a lot of importance to ordinariness and simplicity. The parents and the place chosen, the first visitors being the shepherds , the entire ambience , all were simple , extraordinarily ordinary, amazingly poor , and abundance of material wellbeing. It is with great pride and immense joy that the editorial board comes up with the release of Chrysalis for the Christmas Edition newsletter so meaningfully and eloquently. We are sure that this endeavor will inspire many to experience the peace and hope of Christmas and focus their life in more harmony to overcome the struggles of the pandemic. Let us make Christmas-2021 a different one, giving more importance to its real meaning and message. We wish you all a very happy and Blessed Christmas. Let the Peace, Hope and Love of Christmas fill in us all, especially in our Christ family and in the families of all of us. EDITORIAL BORAD Rev. Fr. SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS 'For God loved the world so much that he gave his only son, so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life” John 3-16 I think this is a very relevant message at the tie of Christmas. Christmas comes to us with the message that God still loves us so that he has shared his own son to us. Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ and we celebrate it by encountering Jesus among the poor downtrodden. Let's love them, embrace them and make one among themselves. It is a magical season that brings joy, love and togetherness to families and friends. Everyone has their own way of celebrating it. But many of us forget about its true meaning. Christmas is not fun with parties and gifts aloe. It is a time of giving, caring and sharing. The spirit of Christmas is 'togetherness' too. We think about others, we 'forgive' and we 'forgive' and become 'better' of ourselves. All those who believe in this truth, for all of them Christmas must be a new day in their life and I wish all of you the same. Handsome gifts with festive trim Bring smiles of see content, But modest gifts of humble means Are of times heaven sent. Whether it be large or small Each gifts will share in part The message of true Christmas joy If given from the heart. Aneena Joseph, grade 9. CHRISTMAS CRIB: Origins and Tradition The representation of the scene of the nativity is a tradition that is almost a thousand years old. In the year 1223 St Francis decided to celebrate the feast of Christmas in a new way. His aim was to help people to better call to mind the poor surroundings in which Jesus was born and to make the wondrous event of the incarnation more real to the people of the time. In the town of Greccio, with the help of a local landowner, a nativity scene was set up with a stable, animals and straw. People came at night from the town with candles and torches to attend holy Mass by the crib and seeing the scene, be reminded of God's love for us in sending his only son to be born in the poverty of a manger. Saint Bonaventure, Francis's biographer, said of the scene, \"Many brothers and good people came at Francis's bidding, and during the night the weather also was beautiful. Many lights were kindled, songs and hymns were sung with great solemnity so that the whole wood echoed with the sound, and the man of God stood by the manger, filled with the utmost joy, and shedding tears of devotion and compassion. By his order the manger had been so arranged that Mass was celebrated on it, and blessed Francis ... sang the gospel and preached to the people on the Nativity of Christ our King, and whenever he pronounced His name with infinite tenderness he called Him the 'little Babe of Bethlehem'\".
