SECTION 1Austria “WOMEN ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND NETWORKS - Research, Good Practices and Practical Perspectives” June 10th 2014 The first WINGS Roundtable “Women Entrepreneurship and Networks - Research, Good Practices and Practical Perspectives” was organized by the project coordina- tor FH Joanneum and took place on 10th June 2014 in Graz, Austria. After the offi- cial opening by the director of FH Joanneum Mr. Günter Riegler, the both project co- ordinators Ligia Franco Pasqualin and Lisa Mahajan gave an introductory presenta- tion about the WINGS project and it’s objectives to the 50 participants. Mr. Thomas Schmalzer, Austrian project leader of the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) continued with a presentation of a study and findings about female entrepreneur- ship from the actual GEM report before Mrs. Edith Zitz, member of the WINGS Ad- visory Board gave a speech about the importance of Networking for Female Entre- preneurs. The presentations session was closed by two female representatives of the IdeenTriebwerk Graz who discussed the importance of support systems for female 20
entrepreneurs in Austria and Mrs. Karin Ronijak who talked abouther experiences as a female entrepreneur.The event was closed by a Round Table session divided into twogroups. One group discussed about the importance of networkingfor female entrepreneurs whilst the second round table discussedabout the necessity of supporting systems for female entrepre-neurs. The discussions within the round tables resulted in relevantinput for the creation and design of the WINGS platform. 21
SECTION 2Belgium “LIGHT UP YOUR ENTREPRENEURSHIP - Insights from Entrepreneurs on How to Be Active Online” January 29th, 2015 3 successful female entrepreneurs gave an inspiring keynote presentation who gave you insights into how important it is to communicate online as an (female) entrepre- neur. Katlijn Voordeckers (author of Onderneemster zkt sterk merk) gave a presentation about branding and social media. She gave useful tips how to make a good brand- ing strategy and use this to communicate on the existing social media. Afterwards Jozefien Daelmans, founder of Charlie Magazine. Charlie is a successful online magazine that communicates differently than the normal printed magazines. for her is online communication the core of her business. Her articles are shared 10,000 times on Facebook and Twitter. Mostly her articles opens a discussion subject in tv shows and the classic printed media. She knew better than anyone els how im- portant it is to be active online and where you have to take care on. She gave a 22
strong presentation of the experiences. She had to admit that it'snot always sunshine but empowered the participants to survivethe difficult periods in entrepreneurship.The keynote presentations were closed by Iris van Den Daele. Sheis a young starter that created a social media platform in Belgium.She gave some insight about her beginning experiences and the pit-falls to start your own business. She used the social media on a dif-ferent way than the others, for her it was to give an insight of whoshe was, who is behind her product.
