What is Cryoadipolysis? A non-invasive technique for the reduction of fatty tissue through the application of controlled cold Due to their high fatty acid content, fat cells are more susceptible to cellular death processes (apoptosis) than other cells in the human body when ex- posed to low temperatures. This process is known as cryoadipolysis. Cellular apoptosis is activated following prolonged exposure to cold, as this causes irreversible damage to cell nuclei through a process of fatty acid crys- tallisation which activates the cells of the immune system, such as macro- phages.
