HR related news and stories that are worth sharing I just started stanning/liking a Kpop group called EXO. I used to hate everything related to Kpop and even judged people who like them but because of pandemic, I decided to try new things and got interested in this group. I bought my very first EXO album last July 2020 and I have been collecting almost all of their group albums for more than a year now. I have also collected their other merchandise like the official lightstick, posters, photo cards, socks, pins, EXO-inspired scented candles, necklaces, cupsleeves, and others. When I started liking this group, it felt good listening to their music and getting to meet new people and friends online because we are all part of a big fandom (EXO-L). I also get to have an outlet where I can share my emotions about liking this group because that other person in the fandom feels the same. During the early start of the pandemic, it was super hard for me to cope with the changes, like not going out and meeting and talking with people face-to-face. I have cried almost every day after work and suffered numerous anxiety attacks in the middle of the night for months. Although, I would not say that EXO totally helped me with everything, but they are a huge part of the solution of how I was able to cope with the stress and anxiety. They simply made me happy, ‘kilig’, and giddy. AUBREY LABAO Because of the pandemic, I officially became a BTS fan. And I have no regrets because it makes me feel fresh and young again. CHAR! Advantage po is I was able to reconnect with old friends, na BTS fan din. Stress reliever po ang panonood ng BTS videos like performances, variety shows and online concert. Basta may papasok na negative, keep calm and sabi nga sa song nila, “Just keep the right vibe yeah!” 7 REZON RIBAYA THE ISLA CHRONICLES The Official Internal E-Newsletter of Isla LPG

HR related news and stories that are worth sharing I’ve already lost count of how many movies and tv series I’ve watched or rewatched on Netflix especially during the pandemic. And yes, I believe it has really helped keep me sane amid all the challenges and uncertainties brought by the Covid-19 global crisis, not to mention that I became a mom in the middle of all the chaos, so it was good that I always have something to look forward to during my rest time, whether it’s rest from work, or rest from taking care of my baby. Watching a film to is me the same with reading. It takes us to a different world. It stimulates our imagination. We learn new things. We even learn about cultures, or about history. Movies also boost our language and vocabulary, the same way that reading does. Some of the tv series I really love (and most of these are available on Netflix) are Breaking Bad, Prison Break, House of Cards (very good scriptwriting for this, by the way), Suits, Money Heist, The Crown, Gilmore Girls, and Narcos – I’m crazy about Narcos and all other related shows that document stories about drug cartels in Mexico and Columbia. Thanks to these shows, my imagination and my spirit are always alive. I also get inspired and motivated by some of the characters in the shows I watch, whether they’re realistic or fictional. Not that I want to be a drug trafficker like Pablo Escobar, haha, but you see, there is always something fascinating about certain characters in a movie or tv show, like how they view life or the world. I always believe that if you just really pay attention to the stories, there are so many insights and lessons behind it all, but of course, how you’re gonna make sense of them is going to be up to you. MAU ORTIZ-DELA CRUZ I’ve been more active in triathlon training because of the pandemic. It makes me feel energized and focused at the same time. Ang advantage naman is that it breaks the monotony of a day-to-day pandemic life and urges me to push beyond my limits. Considering it’s somehow new (again) to me, it also forces me to veer away from social media, C-19 news, presidential elections propagandas, etc. and at the same time stimulates both mind and body. HR related news and stories that are worth sharing Among many things, Biking is on top of the list of my hobbies during the pandemic. I saw biking as one of the most practical, environment friendly and enjoyable recreational activities out there. It’s a great low intensity workout while you get to go to amazing places and bond with other people. Of course, food adventure is awesome! Now did it help me with taking care of my mental health? Yes, definitely! As someone who was diagnosed with mental health issue, biking definitely checks all the boxes. You get to disconnect from everything toxic so you can have more focus on yourself and the road. Breaking a sweat also releases happy hormones like endorphins which helps with your balance. Going to scenic places also provides you an environment for meditation. MARVIN CASTOR Before the pandemic, cooking was a horrifying activity for me to do -- 10 from the selection of the ingredients, choosing the proper cooking pan, the actual process to actual serving. I could not even cook a simple THE ISLA CHRONICLES scrambled egg. I used to burn both garlic and onion when sauteing and I couldn’t even serve a proper canned corned beef. A year and half passed and now I serve dishes based on orders. Yep, you name it, I cook it. My new addiction? Cookware, chopping boards, knives, spices, anything that’s related to the kitchen plus cooking shows and youtube channels! It makes me happy and satisfied as if it’s some sort of achievement each time I cook a nice meal. Nakakahappy vibes! BIANCA ANICETO Cycling has also become one of my stress relievers lately and also boosts my physical health and fitness. Cycling gave me time to think things over, have some quiet time, and deal with my mental health effectively. It’s certainly a form of self care and I would highly recommend this activity to those who are planning to try on new things. MARVIN DELA FUENTE The Official Internal E-Newsletter of Isla LPG

HR related news and stories that are worth sharing During the pandemic, I spent lesser time in traffic and more time for my family and myself. I was able to find extra time to read books. However, the lockdown became a disadvantage because I cannot purchase actual books. I was forced to shift to e-books but in time, I was able to read more. My interests are mostly on self improvement and non-fictional ones. It has helped me find a wider perspective seeing through different writers and varying stories. Experience is the best teacher as they say, but having the experience of others gives me the same lessons without going through the same difficulties. This has helped me in my mental health because I normally read in a serene place by myself. I can focus and meditate during this period. I also use these lessons in sharing with my team, my family and people I meet. JM OCAMPO 11 I spent a lot of time having DIY projects for my car. Cars have always been my passion and THE ISLA CHRONICLES finding ways to make them “better” is a goal that never ends. During the pandemic, I learned how to do interior modifications, exterior cosmetic work, electrical work and proper car detailing. It’s fun for me. I learned a lot and found out that some shops really don’t spend time making their work perfect since for them, it just has to work. Doing it myself gave me control over the quality of materials and work done. Now I know what upgrades are worth it and which ones are not. My hobby also helped develop my skills and also build courage that I wouldn’t have if I didn’t try doing things myself. More importantly, it helps create a release for all the stress and boredom. My DIY hobby gives me something to look forward to over the weekend and sharing the results with my friends who are also into cars gives us a reason to talk and socialize. It keeps my brain working since I keep trying to find ways to make what is already a good car, even better. Also, it’s not a bad workout as well since I have to do everything on my own. HR related news and stories that are worth sharing Before the pandemic happened, I joined an indoor cycling studio for 2 years. It’s something I really enjoy among all fitness activities. And because we’re just staying home during the pandemic, I decided to purchase my own indoor bike. I must say, it’s my best pandemic related purchase so far because it pumps me up and I feel like all the stress of a busy work day are gone instantly after I work out using my indoor bike. Aside from improving my overall physical wellness, I believe that indoor cycling truly helps in releasing happy hormones called endorphins and in turn, helps keep my mental health stable. I can easily forget everything toxic and negative when I am riding my indoor bike. Truly worthwhile! CHAREN NATAL Isa sa mga nakahiligan ko ngayon pandemic was vlogging. Sa vlogging kasi parang it ignites my creativity, keeping my mind occupied during these hard times. As a person who thinks a lot, parang nakakabaliw noong hard lockdown. We can’t deny na mahirap talaga ang panahon ngayon but I am glad that I get to experience yung mga ganitong bagay na dati ko pang gusto simulan. Making it easier for us -- Finance related updates and milestones Capex Automation System As a capital extensive company, we incur material capital expenditures or also termed as CAPEX (e.g., manifolds, pipelines, cylinders and tanks) for our various customers, as SYSTEM AUTOMATION part of our mission to ensure that we deliver safe LPG solutions to our customers. And as part of our delivery promise to our customers, we need to ensure that the timing of project mobilization for our capex allocation should meet or exceed the expectation of our customers. But before we can mobilize, a capex request shall pass through a series of project evaluations $ and approvals (known as CAPEX REQUEST PROCESS) as part of our company’s internal policies and standards. However, the said process, just like any other processes, may take some time to complete. Incurring any delay in the execution of the process might affect our company’s reputation or worst, we may lose the customer. With this, the project team which consists of Rezon Ribaya and Cheryl Senia from Finance; JM Ocampo and Elizabeth Uy from Sales and Vivian Roxas our GRA manager, worked collaboratively with CPL IT Team, led by Ronnie Anteza and Jorrel Detaunan to develop a platform in which we can properly monitor and automate the current manual process. Prior to the development of this web-based platform, CAPEX request initiated by Sales Account Manager, as well as the approvals and support by various stakeholders are done manually via email. The manual process poses the risk that a request may be overlooked by the approvers. Tracking the status of his/her project in his inbox may also be a challenge for the requisitioner. And since there is a risk that we can incur delay during the execution of the process, we need to ensure that each stakeholder department is within the agreed SLA. With all of the said risks, the project team developed this new Capex Request Management System via Sharepoint which caters important features to achieve this project.
