M6c5oorwpemoietrhislldaliswnooindlde Reviews by readers Still so good I've read and listened and watched this story so many times, but every time when Harry is recounting the events in the graveyard and when Mrs Weasley is comforting him, these scenes always make me cry. They are so well written, JK has done an amazing job of portraying how Harry was feeling without getting maudlin, really putting you in the situation. Fun for all the family A modern classic. Brought to life by Stephen Fry. Wish there were more like it. Summary £37.98 £11.39 \"'There will be three tasks, spaced throughout the school year, and they will test the champions in many different ways...their magical prowess - their daring - their powers of deduction - and, of course, their ability to cope with danger.'\" The Triwizard Tournament is to be held at Hogwarts. Then at Hallowe'en, when the Goblet of Fire makes its selection, Harry is amazed to find his name is one of those that the magical cup picks out. He will face death-defying tasks, dragons, and dark wizards, but with the help of his best friends, Ron and Hermione, he might just make it through - alive! M6c5oorwpemoietrhislldaliswnooindlde Reviews by readers Brilliant! Having now listened to all of the Harry Potter books read by Stephen Fry, I have reached some awareness of just how much of a performance this is. Fry is just brilliant - surely an Oscar-worthy 'reading'! How does he get all the voices right and so consistent throughout the series? I can identify which character is speaking every time, which is just amazing. SO enjoyable. Fantastic I've listened to this repeatedly and its always a great listen, brought to life by the many voices of stephen fry. All the voices are fantastic. M6co5orwpemoietrhilsdlalwisnooidnlde Reviews by readers Wonderful! I am left wishing once again that there were more books to come. Characters that stay with you. Stories that make you laugh and cry and carry you away. The feelings these books evoked were no less affecting with Stephen Fry's wonderful audio narrative than they were upon first reading years ago. Magical in every sense if the word! The Stories That Lived Summary You know that it's a good book when, as soon as you finish it, you feel a little empty. The most amazing stories I've ever read and made a million times better with Stephen Fry's narration. An amazing listen for anyone who loves the stories! £37.98 £11.39 \"'Give me Harry Potter,' said Voldemort's voice, 'and none shall be harmed. Give me Harry Potter, and I shall leave the school untouched. Give me Harry Potter, and you will be rewarded.'\" As he climbs into the sidecar of Hagrid's motorbike and takes to the skies, leaving Privet Drive for the last time, Harry Potter knows that Lord Voldemort and the Death Eaters are not far behind. The Dark Lord is breathing fear into everything Harry loves and to stop him Harry will have to find and destroy the remaining Horcruxes. The final battle must begin - Harry must stand and face his enemy.... And has enabled me to make lasting improvements. Thoughtful and insightful. I loved this book! I'll be doing my best to implement the lessons I've learned from this book! thank you James! £31.98 £9.60 Summary People think when you want to change your life, you need to think big. Reviews by readers Woke me up Really well-considered work. Helped me to start to monitor my sleep pattern and working to obey first law, get to bed and up about same time every night and morning. Have struggled with diabetes and obesity for years. Now sleeping better and making good progress. Ironically, very eye-opening This is an absolutely fascinating summary of what research has taught us about sleep. The consequences of poor sleep are spelled out in plain English, and with extensive reference to real-world examples. Summary £29.98 £8.99 The number one Sunday Times best seller. Sleep is one of the most important aspects of our life, health and longevity and yet it is increasingly neglected in 21st century society, with devastating consequences: every major disease in the developed world - Alzheimer's, cancer, obesity, diabetes - has very strong causal links to deficient sleep. Until very recently, science had no answer to the question of why we sleep, or what good it served, or why its absence is so damaging to our health. Compared to the other basic drives in life - eating, drinking and reproducing - the purpose of sleep remained elusive. M3co0orwpemoietrhsildlalswinooidnlde Reviews by readers Fascinating, mind opening book Absolutely loved this... a dark gripping storyline intertwined with fascinating facts about Masons, ancient religious wisdom and the incredible power of the human mind! Narrator was flawless. I guessed the twist quite early on but this in no way detracted from the enjoyment of listening to this epic story. Dan brown at his best Great book I have listened to it twice, highly recommend. Not just the story but the research into the facts of the story. Summary £21.98 £6.59 The Lost Symbol, the stunning follow-up to The Da Vinci Code, is a masterstroke of storytelling - a deadly race through a real-world labyrinth of codes and unseen truths...all under the watchful eye of a terrifying villain. Set within the unseen tunnels and temples of Washington, D.C., The Lost Symbol accelerates through a startling landscape toward an unthinkable finale. Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is summoned to deliver an evening lecture in the U.S. Capitol. Within minutes of his arrival, the night takes a bizarre turn. A disturbing object - artfully encoded with five ancient symbols - is discovered in the Capitol Building. The object is an ancient invitation, meant to usher its recipient into a long-lost world of hidden esoteric wisdom. And when Langdon's mentor Peter Solomon - prominent Mason and philanthropist - is kidnapped, Langdon's only hope of saving Peter is to accept this invitation and follow wherever it leads him. Langdon finds himself plunged into a clandestine world of Masonic secrets, hidden history, and never-before-seen locations...all of which seem to be dragging him toward a single, inconceivable truth. I recommend this to everyone and will be buying copies to leave at various places wherever I go. Mostly brilliant 95 % of this book is so inspiring and so useful! I wasn't sure about the bit at the end where the author diagnoses diseases as things people can always think away, but maybe she's right?!! Overall highly recommended Summary £17.78 £5.33 On this powerful audiobook, Louise L. 5Mc0oorwpmeoietirhsllldaisownonidlde Reviews by readers An incredible work It's no wonder this book is so famous and considered a classic. The narration was first class. The story is magnificent. It's a fantastic read. Well deserved 5 star!! Superbly read. I Was initially reluctant to download this piece because of the length and as I'd seen the film but I'm so happy that I did. Million times better experience than watching the film and the voice of the reader makes you believe you are in the abbey with him! Summary £36.18 £10.85 This hugely engaging story of murder, superstition, religious politics and drama in a medieval monastery was one of the most striking novels to appear in the 1980s. The Name of the Rose is a thrilling story enriched with period detail and laced with tongue-in-cheek allusions to fictional characters, the most striking of which is the Franciscan friar William of Baskerville, who displays many characteristics of Sherlock Holmes. Although he looks at the past through a postmodern lens, Eco catapults his listeners into the dark medieval world as Brother William tries to discover why people are dying inexplicably and nastily in the monastery. There is something not altogether right within the library that is the pride of the establishment.... The old man Adso, who was an impressionable novice at the time, tells the story. NOTE : e-Book with Audiobook at £10.85 (70% OFF) e-Book and Audiobook separately at £2.50 and £15.60, respectively. (50% OFF)

M5co0orwpemoietrhislldaliswnooindlde Reviews by readers Very interesting I thought this book was interesting but different than any other sexual study I have read so far. It was clearly presented in a way that deplict the reasoning behind the women answers, and some chapters, it gave the people report in their own words. Very interesting. M6co5orwpemoietrhislldaliswnooindlde Reviews by readers You're all a bunch of phonies I had heard of this novel for many years before I got around to reading it and I had no idea what it was about when I started it. But I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. I found the use of language excellent and the lead character extremely likeable. Many of the scenes and phrases used in the book stayed with me long after I put it down and made me think. This book is also extremely short, you can read it in a week easy so give it a go. I would highly recommend it. Summary One of the best I first read this whilst I was at school in the 80’s and when my daughter was born I called her Phoebe so you could say this book had a great influence on my life. It’s like a friend I wanted to be with and I would say it will always be a book I can re read and see a different detail each time. Read it because you want to not because you think you should and you just might find a book that stays with you forever. £4.99 £1.50 'If you really want to hear about it, the first thing you'll probably want to know is where I was born and what my lousy childhood was like, and how my parents were occupied and all before they had me, and all that David Copperfield kind of crap, but I don't feel like going into it, if you want to know the truth.' M5co0orwpemoietrhislldaliswnooindlde Reviews by readers Outstanding Absolutely fantastic. Its been years since I watched the movie, so I said I would give this a go. New author and narrator for me and wow o wow. If you like the old WW2 stories or the old commando comics then this is for you. loved it. Thrilling The film is a classic and very faithful to the book which, of course, gives much more detail. The narration is superb and Noble’s voices and accents are spot on. Always difficult to do female voices I think but he nails every one. Highly recommended. M8co0orwpemoietrhsildlalswinooidlnde Reviews by readers Oh Pinocchio! The Adventures of Pinocchio is a timeless classic. I've seen the various movies over the years and enjoyed them. Nothing compares to the book though! So much fun! This selection came up in my suggested reads and I laughed. Pinocchio? Really? I’m not that far from 50... but then I remembered that original classic stories can be very different than the Disney versions. This did NOT disappoint!! This original version is delightfully trippy and a tad sinister. What made it was the narrator. He’s fantastic!!! Several times my kids and husband have come running to see what I’m laughing about and shake their heads... Pinocchio. Summary £19.16 £5.75 Once upon a time, there was a talking, walking, dancing piece of wood. His name was Pinocchio, the marionette created from an enchanted log by Tuscan woodcarver Geppetto. Challenged by an escalating series of misadventures, Pinocchio must learn to be selfless, respectful, and honest in order to fulfill his wishes and lose his strings. A childhood favorite, Pinocchio endures as a rite of passage and illustrates the difficulties of growing up, staying true to oneself, and being kind to others. M3co0orwpemoietrhsildlalswinooidlnde Reviews by readers Best of the trilogy This is the first and in my opinion the best of the trilogy. This story can stand alone from the two subsequent works, books two and three are in effect two halves of one story. The character, Lisbeth Sallander is very interesting and as we peel the layers, she becomes more complex. The story line is well thought out and the ending is anything but obvious. Very good listen. Excellent A great book with lots of fantastic characters and a twist at the end. Well worth a listen and well read by Saul. M4c0oorwpemoietrhislldaliswnooindlde Reviews by readers Outstanding combination of subject, story telling and performance. The idea of writing the history of philosophy in a language suitable for for young adults is a stroke of genius in itself. But Gaarder's brings it to life in a plot that is imaginative, humorous and faithful to the subject at all times. Finally, Simon Vance's performance adds an extra dimension to this already extraordinary take. Its as if the characters were telling it themselves! Mind-blown! The fact that there is a narrative makes it so engaging, I love it! The reader’s performances were really great as well.z Summary £43.88 £13.16 One day, 14-year-old Sophie Amundsen comes home from school to find two notes in her mailbox, with one question on each: \"Who are you?\" and \"Where does the world come from?\" From that irresistible beginning, Sophie becomes obsessed with questions that take her far beyond what she knows of her Norwegian village. Reviews by readers Light hearted with a lot of truth. The reason I love this book is because it doesn't take itself too seriously, it's written for the average joe who worries to much about daily life. If you're uptight/snobbish you probably won't enjoy this but if you're just a normal person stumbling through life I believe there's a lot you can take away from giving this a listen/read. Fantastic book and performance An honest view about what is really important in life. One of the best self help books I have read for a long time. Summary £30.18 £9.05 In this generation-defining self-help guide, a superstar blogger cuts through the crap to show us how to stop trying to be positive all the time so that we can truly become better, happier people. For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. \"F*ck positivity,\" Mark Manson says. \"Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it.\" In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up. Reviews by readers Very interesting, well written and narrated I knew I’d enjoy this book and I was right. I enjoyed his honesty, acceptance to acknowledge that he was wrong when applicable, not blaming anyone. He gives credit where credit is due and doesn't fire people if they point out that he has made a mistake. The inside politics was a bit boring but relevant. An education and a truly engaging read. Summary I simply couldn't put this down. Full of insight into the working of US government. It confirmed my views on Obama, an inspirational figure and a very worthy president. £65.98 £19.79 A riveting, deeply personal account of history in the making - from the president who inspired us to believe in the power of democracy. In the stirring, highly anticipated first volume of his presidential memoirs, Barack Obama tells the story of his improbable odyssey from young man searching for his identity to leader of the free world, describing in strikingly personal detail both his political education and the landmark moments of the first term of his historic presidency - a time of dramatic transformation and turmoil. This beautifully written and powerful book captures Barack Obama's conviction that democracy is not a gift from on high but something founded on empathy and common understanding and built together, day by day. M5c0oorwpemoietrhislldaliswnooindlde Reviews by readers A piece of art What a journey. Magical realism is the perfect holiday book genre and this story is curious bizarre and fascinating. So illustrious without ever describing how the characters feel, actions tell all. Extraordinary little details rise and return with skill. A masterpiece A classic worth reading The best depiction of family life and history repeating itself I have ever read. It is cosidered one of the best works of Marquez for a reason, I would highly recommend. The performance was very good, apart from the last 3-4 chapters where the narrator's voice becomes distant at times and then resumes to the normal volume again. Summary £34.28 £10.28 One of the twentieth century’s enduring works, One Hundred Years of Solitude is a widely beloved and acclaimed novel known throughout the world and the ultimate achievement in a Nobel Prize– winning career. The novel tells the story of the rise and fall of the mythical town of Macondo through the history of the Buendía family. Rich and brilliant, it is a chronicle of life, death, and the tragicomedy of humankind. In the beautiful, ridiculous, and tawdry story of the Buendía family, one sees all of humanity, just as in the history, myths, growth, and decay of Macondo, one sees all of Latin America. M5c0oorwpemoietrhislldaliswnooindlde Reviews by readers Beautifully written and perfectly performed. A book I kept on the shelf for sometime due to the subject matter. Not what I expected although sometimes still difficult to read. Hard to empathise with Humbert even when he pens, with great eloquence, the beauty he sees in Dolores Haze. The book is his memoir so you cannot escape his sordid desires and justifications. However it is beautifully written and the story so compelling. The characters are colourful and rich, painted from Nabokov's deep literary palette. Descriptive chapters pull you into their time as you struggle to find your own perspective. Summary £22.98 £6.89 The same man who carried off this most challenging of anti-heroes with aplomb in the controversial Kubrick film adaptation, Jeremy Irons' narration of this timeless classic retains all the dignity and skill of his original performance. Lolita, light of my life, fire of my loins. My sin, my soul. Lo-lee-ta: the tip of my tongue taking a trip of three steps down the palate to tap, at three, on the teeth. Lo. Lee. Ta. Savagely funny and hauntingly sad, Lolita is Nabokov's most famous and controversial novel. Completely changed my attitude towards money. Brought this book as it comes highly recommended by a lot of people. This has helped me to understand how to create wealth along with helping me to understand my own financially mistakes and start to correct them. Summary £27.68 £8.30 Rich Dad Poor Dad is the #1 personal finance book of all time. Listen today to set yourself up for a wealthy, happy future. Robert Kiyosaki’s easy tips and straight talk will… • Explode the myth that you need to earn a high income to become rich • Challenge the belief that your house is an asset • Define once and for all an asset and a liability • Show parents why they can’t rely on the school system to educate kids about money • Clearly lay out what to teach kids about money for their future financial success \"The main reason people struggle financially is because they have spent years in school but learned nothing about money. The result is that people learn to work for money… but never learn to have money work for them.\" NOTE : e-Book with Audiobook at £8.30 (70% OFF) e-Book and Audiobook separately at £2.35 and £11.50, respectively.
