Phase to Face “Mens sana in corpore sano” “A healthy mind in a healthy body”There are a few ways to interpret this ancient latinphrase, but we see it as this:A healthy mind creates a healthy body and a healthybody creates an even healthier mind. It is a positivefeedback loop of good health. Often, when we feel “outof touch” with ourselves we are not aware that ourphysical or mental needs are not being met. By takinga moment to check in, we put ourselves in a newposture.A conscious mind is aware of its body. One great wayto communicate with yourself is through theexternalization of information.Phase cards are a tactile way to get in touch withyourself and measure your state of well-being. Beforeyou can be conscious of something you must firstbecome aware of it. GuidelinesOn the back side of every card is a space dedicatedfor drawing a mandala. Mandalas are a generic termfor any diagram, chart or geometric pattern thatrepresents the cosmos metaphysically orsymbolically - a microcosm of the universe.Mandalas are beneficial for focusing attention,establishing a sacred space and to aid in meditationand trance induction.But most importantly, they are a way to achieveindividuation.The full moon is a natural mandala.Carl Jung (1875-1961) was a famous psychologistwho found a pattern: as a person’s mental healthincreased so did their capacity to create mandalas.Mandalas have been used for thousands of years bycultures all across the world. “I sketched every morning in a notebook a small circular drawing, a mandala, which seems to correspond to my inner situation at the time. With the help of these drawings I could observe my psychic transformations from day to day.” Carl Jung, MDR, page 195
