In addition, his recruiting efforts helped the ‘Canes earn three Top 25 classes during his tenure. At UM, Gibbs recruited and mentored several players that have continued their playing careers professionally in the WNBA and overseas. Gibbs joined the UM coaching ranks prior to the 2005-06 season, and helped lead UM to a 17-13 record and an appearance at the 2006 WNIT in his first season with the Hurricanes.
