PAGE 2 VIVEK 2020-2021 NEW HOPE FAREWELL Dr. Rita Ramsinghani Dr. Rita Ramsinghani is an inimitable, unique person who retired from the college after a very long tenure of 34 years. Her students will remember her as much for her command over Organic Chemistry as for her witty repartee. Her ever present smile and twinkling eyes will always remain fresh in our memory. Her love for Bollywood movies and songs made her the undisputed judge of the popular ‘Antakshari’ event of the college for years together. Dr. Rita Ramsinghani is also known for her benevolence. Very recently, she donated a good amount to help secure ICU beds of Covid-19 infected elderly patients. She came to the aid of many such elderly people who are left to fend for themselves. Very righty, she has been lauded as the #COVIDJaankari SUPERHERO and continues to be an inspiration to us even after retirement. Though she retired as the senior-most teacher of the college, she was always young at heart, endearing herself to the young and old alike. Dr. Mary Stephen retired from the college in May 2021, Dr. Mary Stephen after a service of almost 30 years. She was an invaluable member of the Chemistry department, and served the college diligently as the Chairperson of the IQAC for more than 8 years. She was a member of the Vivek editorial board for more than 15 years, contributing many heart-warming articles to the magazine. She was also the editor of this very magazine “Vivek”, for two consecutive years, during which she guided the team immaculately, having a watchful eye for every minute detail. She wrote as she spoke – straight from the heart. She will be remembered for her witty comments and unique style of making speeches. She could make jokes with a straight face that often left you wondering whether she was serious or joking. Her elegant saris were a focus of admiration for many. Dr. Mary Stephen is a genuine person who wears no mask and lets her work speak for her, not worrying about getting the limelight. She has the amazing ability to laugh her worries away and distil the best out of life. We wish her a cheerful and fun-filled retired life.
