GRASSHOPPER _ HARBIN AIRPORT MAD Architects | Intern Architect 2018.12- 2019.01 Beijing, China -Used Grasshopper to model the structure system for the airport, including the truss system and the column system; TYPE: Airport CLIENT: Personal SIZE: 420 SM LOCATION: Qinhuangdao, China STATUS: Unbuilt The structure’s expressiveness derives from its organic shaping in conjunction with the powerful algorithm of the complex curves of the roof. The undulating silhouette helps it to fit into the surrounding context, signalises the city in which the structure is located and openly evokes the skyline of the mountain in the surrounding. The roof of the new terminal leaves the impression of a light fabric that seems to be floating over the interior. 1.
