ACKNOWLEDGEMENT The fulfillment and accomplishment of this project would not be possible without the people who poured their utmost dedication and passion for this project. We would like to extend our gratitude to Ms. Chaira Faye Ferran, National Service Training Program 2 adviser. Together with her critical insights and constant guidance that help this project be successfully accomplished. In addition to that, we also extend our sincerest gratitude to Mr. Pol Gamban, San Lorenzo Subdivision Phase 1C Annex’s president and Ms. Mary Jane Reyes, a TLE teacher from Dominican College and also our guest speaker on the webinar for the knowledge and support they shared to others on aiming for a greener environment. To our participants in the webinar, thank you for joining us and we hope you learn something and embody it in your everyday living. Last but not the least, we would like to acknowledge our family and friends' support for our project. Without their help and support, we will not be able to gather funds which were used in accomplishing the said project.

IINNTTRROODDUUCCTTIIOONN The Prominent issues or problems of every communities encountering are improper waste disposal. The NSTP-CWTS 101 (lecture) is a training aimed to increase learners' civic awareness by instilling in them the importance of service and dedication to the community's welfare and improvement. The point of this course is to mask the students to turn out to be good members of the community by becoming mindful of issues or problems that the community area had and figure out how to form actions to address them. Additionally, the need to take or engage individuals with the society, and simultaneously extend help to the individuals who are in need. Upon assessment, the researchers have picked a particular local area which is Barangay Phase 1C – Annex San Lorenzo South, province of Laguna. To assist with surveying what areas will be given guide, the researchers directed with the barangay authorities of the local area. The purpose of this project is to improve the club house of our chosen beneficiaries, Phase 1C-Annex San Lorenzo South

IINNTTRROODDUUCCTTIIOONN The researchers wanted to work on their mindfulness on environmental factors, that is the reason our project focused on tree planting because we also wanted to sustain and make the environment better. Consequently, we chose to lead an online course for the Barangay 1C-Annex with the subject of Urban Planting Ameliorating Local Solutions to a Greener Future. The motivation behind this portfolio is to introduce the process conducted, just as the perspectives that were utilized by the researchers to help the Barangay. This will fill in as a proof that our group have effectively help their barangay for their awareness on the surroundings and how they can protect it, in addition, make the environment better also, for the improvement because we plant more fruit bearing trees. This report will be fill in as a guide for the future analysts who are wanting to direct a project of a similar kind.

We started conceptualizing during our 2nd trimester, prior to executing the plan, we began accumulating funds. ReportNARRATIVE PHASE 1 C-ANNEX

ReportNARRATIVE With the dedication and consistency of our campaign, we gained a total of 4000 pesos, which was our initial goal. People who have a heart for service donated and contributed to the success of gathering our funds. Accumulation of funds lasted for about 3 consecutive weeks. This collected money will serve as our source on providing the materials needed in our project for our chosen community and as a token of appreciation for the participation of reliable personnel. On the 11th of June 2021, our group conducted a dry run for the preparation of webinar. We also checked all of the significant things that will be needed in the webinar such as checking the slides of the powerpoint presentation, the spiels, the registration form, the evaluation form, and the electronic certificates to ensure that our group is well prepared. On June 12, the Project Ignite webinar was conducted via Google Meet (9:00 am – 11:00 am), where we accommodated a total of 50 participants who registered for the webinar.

ReportNARRATIVE The attendees are from Phase 1-C Annex San Lorenzo while others are from various places in Laguna that were invited from our Facebook page (La Solucion Verde). The webinar started by the masters of the ceremony to introduce the theme \"Urban Planting: Ameliorating Local Solutions to a Greener Future”, followed by a prayer, the Philippine National Anthem, and the LPU Hymn. We tried our best to make the webinar go smoothly. Mr. Pol Gamban, San Lorenzo South Subdivision Phase 1C Annex President was invited to give his opening remarks. It was a warm talk from Phase 1C’s president and he was very grateful that they were our chosen beneficiaries. The guest speaker, Ms. Mary Jane Reyes, a Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) teacher from Dominican College Sta. Rosa shared her knowledge and insights regarding the topic. Her talk is about increasing people’s awareness of the significance of proper waste disposal which lasted for one (1) hour and thirty (30) minutes. After her talk, we proceed to the open forum portion where all questions or opinions will be entertained and discussed for additional information.

ReportNARRATIVE The last part of the event was the awarding of winner/s in the Paso Making Competition: \"May the Creative Paso, Wins”. The winner is Ms. Ritchwel Roman who really showed her talent in making a paso using recyclable materials. The said prize for Ms. Ritchwel is worth 1,000 pesos. Giving of Certificates for the guest speaker, the chosen community, and the participants in the webinar also occurred. All participants concurred that the project was viable and effective and the topics were well presented in a deliberate way. The group thanked all the participants in the said contest for making the paso and the webinar itself. We also send links to the review form to know what information our audience have gained, and also to know their opinions and suggestions on the said webinar. Surprisingly, their feedback on our webinar was mostly scored as 5 – where they strongly agree to each statement in the form, and we are more than grateful for that.

ReportNARRATIVE After the webinar event, on June 14 to 18, our group purchased the tools and materials for the tree planting activity on the club house of Phase 1-C Annex. For this week’s activity, the materials such as plywood and nails were purchased and we also found a laborer who constructed the plant box where the fruit bearing seeds will be planted. Although there was a 2-day delay, the creation of the plant box was successfully made after a week. Other members of the group planned a meet up to check the progress of the plant box and the planting of the seeds. For the planting, tomato, calamansi, okra, carrots and sili are properly planted and it is currently waiting for the seeds to grow.

ReportNARRATIVE ADVOCACY VIDEO The last 2 weeks of the NSTP project was allotted for making an advocacy video. This is to raise awareness of the significance of proper waste disposal and planting. The wrap-up of the project has ended successfully as well as the implemented activities for the chosen community (San Lorenzo South Subdivision Phase 1C Annex) which lasted for 11 weeks (about 2 and a half months).

Individual Reflection Helping and serving other people has not only been my passion, but my happiness. With our small reach yet impactful and beneficial actions, I never thought I, along with the team would be able to serve and extend a helping hand, not only because we were required; but there was a calling to serve which we immediately said yes to. Throughout the process and implementation, no doubt, that the weight of pressure and stress virtually and personally were present. It was a challenge to seek for people and beneficiary, as well as conducting such outputs like these held on a new normal set - up. Yet, if there is one thing I have instilled in my mind - that would be, serving is not a simple calling. It is done with great passion and perseverance since it is a huge responsibility to undertake. From the planning up to this point, Project Ignite left me a mark - a reminder that even amidst the health crisis, helping still prevails and triumphs. These people were the reasons why behind the sudden presentations and submissions, night before it, magical crammings happen. It is indeed, an opportunity and a blessing to work with these passionate, brave hearts and souls people who constantly became an instrument that there will always be kindness in these trying times. - STEPHANIE RESPLANDOR

Individual Reflection Project Ignite is very special to me. It made me realize that I can do more in life and that I can help people even in a distant. At first I thought it will be easy, but as the project progressed my first impression turned out to be wrong. It helps me to be aware and mindful that as a student, I can do something not only for the benefit of my academics but for the well-being of the people from our chosen community as well. This project also allowed me and my co-members to know the things we are not used to like urban planting and some other things. I’m very proud that I’m one of the students who instigated this project. I’m very thankful for this once in a lifetime opportunity. I just feel so blessed to do something for other people beyond my reach. We may have encountered a lot of difficulties and lapses along the way but what’s more important are the learnings and life lessons we have gained from it. Despite this crisis we are facing right now regarding the pandemic, we were able to pull it off and make a change for the better, greener, and healthier community. Having to work with this project was truly a tiring task, however, the feeling of happiness, fulfillment, and achievement is what makes it worth the time and effort that each one of us have given all throughout this journey. For me, this was such an incredible experience. I’ve learned a lot from this project and I will cherish each moment I spent with my colleagues forever. -ANDRE HERNANDEZ

Individual Reflection Starting this NSTP project was tough because of its quarantine set-up. At first, were having a hard time to think what to implement while we are in this pandemic situation. Making a project virtually is not easy to do, we experience a lot of difficulties especially we can’t meet each other to work in this project. However, having a team with La Solucion Verde makes us even stronger and make this project work even though we are in this virtually set-up. The team’s project, Project Ignite, come up to help the community with their problem in the environment. In this generation we forget to take care and sustain our environment. We focused on turning waste into something beneficial for the environment and of course, the improvement for the Club House of our chosen beneficiaries, Phase 1–C Annex San Lorenzo South. It is indeed feels great to do something for the improvement of the the nature. We are making action to make change for the future. As youth, we are responsible for our actions because we, as they say, “ang pag-asa ng bayan”. If we received help and donations from our friends and other people who are willing to give their “limang piso”, our team deeply appreciate it because without their donation, Project Ignite is not successfully implemented. Thus, each and every one of us should continue to choose thinking for the future because every little action in everyday living, counts to make change. It made me realized that even if we have this kind of situation, it is possible to make change. Pandemic or any circumstances is not a hindrance to make action for our own good. - NICA VITASA

Individual Reflection Talk about growth, we as learner became more intellectually mature and cognizant on how to acknowledge and take actions with the issues that every communities deal with. The Project Ignites is composed of young learners who aims to offer assistance and to impart knowledge regarding the proper waste disposal. This issue is prominent and undying problem of most communities, including our beneficiary community. On the process of executing our aims and objectives, little by little I realize that even if there is a facing crisis today, we can still lend help and succor to the minor issue of small communities dealt with. With compassion and willingness to offer small amount of help it contributes vast changes. It felt surreal that the activities that we wanted to attain and aims to be achieved was successfully accomplished. From raising funds to accumulating the monetary, conducting webinar, implementing competition, executed a tree planting as a contribution to better sustain green, it is heartwarming that people listen and hear what your goal is. As someone who is part of organizing this project, I feel extremely euphoric, honestly, no words can fit in to what I feel, but I know it is fulfilling. As I come to reflect on my life, I became aware and learned along with the process of this project implementation, these are the things that I've never imagined I'll make. Although, challenges and adversities on conducting this project in inevitable, but it only thought me how to deal with and resolve it. Experience is indeed our own teacher, our builder to become a better citizen and an individual. We didn’t only impart help to the community and to its people, but we the Project Ignite contributes to sustain a better environment. No help is small, so lend hand while you can. And this encounter introduces me to a new version of myself that I'll welcome. - KYLEEN ACAIN

Individual Reflection The overall group project and its implementation really took us a lot of patience and effort for it to be said successful. One of the difficulty we experienced was finding our beneficiaries. Our first chosen beneficiary was Brgy. Sirang Lupa, Calamba City but because of some instances we encountered, we have to find another beneficiary which is San Lorenzo Subdivision Phase 1-C Annex in Sta. Rosa, Laguna. The project implementation itself was difficult, there were a lot of things to be considered. Not to mention that we need to do the project without going out because of the ongoing pandemic. The project proposal was hard for we came from different sections and time conflict is our number one enemy. Some of our groupmates cannot reply immediately while the others are busy doing their stuff. But, we easily adjust and started doing our project implementation. Before the actual implementation, we decided that a webinar and paso making contest will help us to fund our said project. With the webinar together with the facebook page, we were able to gain the attention of people from different places in the Philippines. The webinar also helped us to gain knowledge on one of our project where we decided to have a fruit-bearing trees on Phase 1C San Lorenzo Subdivision’s club house. But of course, there were difficulties on the webinar we held. Our speaker for the opening remarks, Mr. Gamban (Phase 1C President) was still asleep even the webinar has started and it got us all panicked. Also the paso making contest made us all worried for we think that no one wants to participate, but fortunately the winner together with the participants send us their entry a night before the cut-off date for the contest. There were a lot of instances happened before accomplishing this project but I am thankful to have a groupmates who motivates each other and to never let anyone feel left behind. - MARY FRANCE LOPEZ

Individual Reflection In the first project we proposed, I can say that our group will have a hard time to do it. Each of us had brainstorming first to make sure the project we were going to do would be nice. The process of creating the whole activity was very challenging because we are only doing the project that we implemented through online because of the pandemic that we have until now. It was then when the project regarding the NSTP came up and that became an opportunity for us to extend the help to others who are in need. It is a nice opportunity because we experience this kind of project and we hope that it will continue and make it better in the future. Since nowadays webinar are spreading with various topic, our group decided to put together a webinar so that the people will gain new knowledge that they need to know especially when it comes on tree planting. I am very satisfied by the webinar that our group has managed. As a member of Project Ignite, I have also learned a lot from the speakers and had a lot of realizations along the discussions. The purpose of our activity is to make the environment better and turn it to a greener one. The overall activity was fun and also a good experience for me. In terms of helping the South Subdivision Phase 1C Annex, it takes a lot of courage and teamwork accomplish a goal. This project made me realize that even though it has a pandemic it has a way to accomplish the goal very well if it has a determination and teamwork and also it would be possible if not with the help by the support of each member of the group. - QUIELA NIEGA

Individual Reflection From the very start planning the project, I, and my group mates as well honestly has a lot of complaints and question like “Why would they give us such tasks in an online setup and expect us to execute plans through online platforms without an actual representation?” it is difficult but thinking that we made it right now is such a relief. I have realized so many things by doing this kind of project even though we have a lot of doubts at first. This made me more flexible than before and it made our team very resourceful when it comes to planning, executing, solving problems, and most importantly our teamwork. There are times that we cannot be available for the project to the point that we cannot contribute an excellent part but when we needed to be a team, I am absolutely amazed how our group manages to catch up and even though there are times we procrastinate; we always make sure that we finish the task before the deadline. In two semesters that we have been together, I will never forget how we successfully managed our projects. I have learned a lot and it feels good to contribute a little help for the nature and to be knowledgeable in terms of taking care in small ways. We did not just help people to learn how to prevent having a healthy nature, or to feel good about ourselves, but we indeed provide something for our environment even in small ways. - DANYELLA JEN DELA CRUZ

Individual Reflection At first It's been tough for us students to undergo the subject NSTP because of the new online class system. There are lots of challenges we've been through, deadlines, exams, other subjects, unstable internet connection and communication issues, but despite of those challenges we pull through and accomplish our missions. Our mission was to help our chosen community with their problem and we choose the Phase 1-C Annex San Lorenzo South, City of Santa Rosa Laguna. We all gather our thoughts, we brainstorm and seek information regarding to the said community. After planning a month and thinking what plans or actions we will to just to help the community. The fund raising \"lima piso para sa pagbabago” was a big help for us to gathered funds to buy some stuff such as seed, plant box and more that might help the beloved community to be a greener and breath taking place, we can't achieve the goal that we want without the help of our friends and family. Weeks gone by and we finally launch our own webinar and the activities that we plan, it's hard to find participants who are willing to join in our webinar and we're shocked that we invited over 50 participants. We almost lose our hope and just gave up to the point \"kaya pa ba natin?\" but we still stand firm and face the challenges in our way. We felt the happiness in our system knowing that as this young age we just help a community who was asking to help them. Our sleepless nights is paid off and turned into an achievement that we will keep in our life, We learned a lot im this subject that we may carry in the rest of our life and help us to be successful and a kind human being. - ANDREA OAFALLAS

Individual Reflection Even though this course required physical and hands on work to enact and apply services and training, my professors and classmates were still able to push through and make it possible virtually. I was able to learn the training programs and to also give services, and be aware of certain issues of drugs and corrupt ways of hazing and other military style training requirements you are to tackle in college. This course was more labor and performance which required hands on and face to face activities yet it was achievable through online classes. I was able to learn to be more reliable and to also oblige to the following tasks I’m able to do, to always follow guidelines, to use the expanse of time I and my group mates gad to the best of our abilities and it amazes me that we were able to have done these things as freshmen in college and ensures me and shows me that I am ready to be an adult that I can apply the these I learned to my line of work and I everyday life in general. I admit the course was quite hard during online classes due to the lack of interaction and physical labor but at the end of the day everything falls into place and was able to be done smoothly without any complications. Our group’s program “La Solucion Verde” was definitely a success that I did expect we would be able to push through and actually collect real funds from donators and have a webinar and a special speaker, it was definitely a good experience and it will surely be helpful in the near future. - JUSTIN CARBAJOSA
