MVN TIMES Children’s Day 2022 Special Edition

From principal’s desk “If there is one field of life which teaches us the most valuable lessons about perseverance, patience, discipline and character building, it is Sports.” Ms. Agalya Venkatesh If there is one word that best epitomizes children and childhood, it is Sports! for One word sums it all. No doubt, Books – our eternal friends; repositories of all learning, knowledge and wisdom; our guides and guardians – shape us but sports play their own master- stroke. Sports augment physical health, accentuate fitness, enhance stamina, strength and endurance. Sports cultivate leadership, team spirit, skill of collaboration integrating it with resilience, respect, empathy and sportsmanship. The will to succeed, the passion for persistence, the spirit to do are but the virtues of sports. At MVN, Sector 17, we believe in the alchemy that transforms not only mind & soul but also our bodies, a synergy that will sculpt young minds, hearts and spirits, who will be the pride of families, exultation of society and glory of our nation. And, what better time than to catch them young. The Sports integrated curriculum at MVN – 17 assimilates round the year fitness classes and sports activities; the glimpses of which was showcased on this Children’s Day i.e., 14TH of November, 2022. The school organized “MVN Champions League” for our little bundles of joy to enrich their fun-filled day to day routines; to instill a message to work hard, to persevere so that one day their signature becomes an autograph. We, at MVN pledge that we shall always strive for excellence personifying the sporting spirit – FASTER, HIGHER AND STRONGER

Health is a dynamic expression of life in terms of how joyful, loving and enthusiastic you are. The students of Grade I demonstrated their yogic skills by performing various asanas as it is rightly said, when the body is physically fit, the mind is clear and one remains focussed.

‘Umbrella Drill’ by Grade II was a yet another colourful coordinated rhythmic performance. The umbrella indicates enlightened beings. The colourful umbrellas held by our acquainted beings brightened up the day.

Reading is to mind what exercise is to the body. The students of Grade III performed a Dumbbells Drill in their own sporty style, showcasing how fit healthy and active we can be. It was indeed a cadence patterned demonstration.

A strong message of camaraderie and unity was delivered by the students of Grade IV through a Taekwondo demonstration thereby showcasing how to improve self-regulation.

A robust mind and a lively body are the fundamental requirement to live a long and happy life. With this message in mind, the aerobics and gymnastic display of Grade V aimed to illuminate the audience with the merits of living a fit and healthy life, promoting the initiative of ‘Fit India’.

Playing sports can also help children to develop their social skills and help to set them up for positive relationship building for life. Through an event like a sports day, children get the chance to show leadership, teamwork and communication skills, as they interact with new people and face new challenges. Running the different races involves the skills and risk but the fun outweighs it all!

The crazy frog racers hopped and jumped down the length of their drive way and tried to develop competition amongst them by reaching the finishing point. They had a croaking good time showcasing their gross motor skills. The price of greatness is responsibility, the tiny tots of grade I learnt to be responsible and organized through the race “Getting Ready for School”.

Beautiful, angelic souls learned to fight their way through various odds to achieve their goals in the hurdles race. The secret to a happy life is finding the right balance to everything you do. The acrobats of Grade II balanced the ball artfully and tactfully to reach the target.

The small ducks of Grade III waddled in competition with each other to the finishing line. This bodyweight challenging workout targeted to involve lots of important muscle groups in a single move. The event that encouraged the children to work together to achieve the same goal. Imagine the teamwork needed to get this one! The children loved being tied together with a partner while they enjoyed the challenge of trying to walk and run together to the finishing line, ensuring a soft landing at the same time.

A great form of aerobic exercise that required the children to work on their hand-eye coordination as they held the sack up while they jumped thereby enhancing their gross motor skills. Relay Races are a quick and easy way to promote teamwork, active participation, integrity and fun. The active racers of Grade IV passed on the baton and shared the responsibility with their team mates

The athletes of Grade V ran the 400 m sprint race and set records with the timings. Aiming to bridge the gap and be united, let’s walk together race was held for the students wherein they walk together in teams to achieve their goals as Together Everyone Achieves More.
