Let's Talk Social Media Deepak Digwa Just now·5 min read 52,560 minutes are spent on social media by young adults per year. Let that sink in…… For the math nerds, that's 36.5 days a year spent on these addictive little platforms. Over a month, every SINGLE YEAR that is spent looking at other peoples lives. If that doesn't scare you, I will let you into a little secret. All indications suggest that it is only going to get worse. What does this mean to you? Well, this is dependent on what type of person you are. If you're a very negative and close-minded person, you will grow to hate social media and try to avoid it at all costs. On the other hand, if you’re a positive and open-minded individual you will see the huge potential which awaits you.

I sincerely hope you are the latter of the two, if not I suggest you climb back under your rock and stop reading now. (Slightly harsh but you get my point) So, for all my open-minded and businesspeople, the gates of heaven have opened. It is now time to take advantage of an unprecedented shift in human attention. Getting straight to the point, let’s talk about social media. By the time you have finished this short and brief article, you should have a very basic understanding of the 3 major social media platforms (Twitter, Instagram and Facebook) and how it could benefit you. If you don’t obtain this knowledge, I have failed my job and you can contact me directly on Instagram @deepak_digwa and I will go through everything in more depth. Sound fair?

The last thing before we dig in, what makes me qualified to talk about this? I am the owner of a Social Media Marketing Agency called Ads4lawyers and it would be rather embarrassing if I didn't know this. I have a proven track record for taking advantage of these beautiful platforms and I have dedicated many years of my life to understanding how to optimise this wonderful opportunity. In other words, you are in safe hands. Twitter Twitter is one of the older platforms, which has remained a dominant force throughout time. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Twitter, it is a social arena where you can “tweet” about things you find interesting or anything that is on your mind. Famous for being extremely interactive and allowing freedom of speech, Twitter can be seen as a “loud” platform. What we mean by this is, you can tweet over 15 things a day and you would not bother your followers. This same luxury cannot be enjoyed on other platforms, for example, Instagram as there are different standards and expectations. I personally use Twitter (deepak_digwa) to vent about business.

What this can do for your brand? • It is a perfect platform to interact with your users • It is a perfect platform to show your personality • It is a perfect platform to test your strategies as it is a “loud” platform and can be tested without irritating your followers Some great mentors to follow on Twitter are: • Neil Patel • Garyvee • Ashnichrist

They can guide you a lot better than I can and I would highly recommend you look into those geniuses. On to the next one. Instagram Instagram is one of the most famous Apps to ever be made. Originally created as a simple way to share good-looking, edited, photographs. It was an immediate success, gaining one million users in its first couple of months. I believe any business in the world needs to establish a following and a presence on this app, as it is a showcase for the wonderful things you’re business or you are doing for the world to see. Instagram has become a powerful tool for social proof and a great presence on this app could be the difference-maker between a successful business and one that no longer exists. The main focus on this app is to post content that reflects your personality and your best bits. Your aim should be to interact with your audience through this app and create a consistent and appealing brand. (Picture of Ads4lawyers Instagram below) What can this do for your brand?

• Give you social presence • Give you social proof • Give you a stage to demonstrate your work Some great mentors to follow : • Tai Lopez • Garyvee • PrimeBrainz Finally, the mother of all social apps, Facebook. Facebook Facebook is the original social network and what we like to call a hybrid app within the industry, this means that it is an app that does a bit of everything well. For example, Facebook has the function to post text like Twitter. The option to go on ‘live’ and post pictures like Instagram. Also, you can post stories like Snapchat. Picture Facebook as the ultimate hub, although many people prefer other apps. This social network is a must-have and simply irreplaceable. One of the main advantages of this monster app is the hyper-targeted marketing ability which is available. What can this do for your brand?

• Access all types of target audiences • The use of Ads could make all the difference • Gives social proof Some great mentors to follow: • Tai Lopez • Grant Cardone • Jon Loomer Putting this all together, so you can see how this works practically. At Ads4lawyers we will use Twitter to tweet about certain marketing techniques and how the company is doing generally. We will also experiment with a few things on the Ads4lawyers account so we can determine what is working. Then we will use Instagram to showcase our best bits and what makes us different as a marketing agency. Our team will also optimise the story function on the app to engage more with the audience. Finally, we will collect the data from these methods and other sources, which allows us to use Facebook to hyper- target our audiences and run a bunch of advertisement. Essentially the Ads4lawyers brand reaches tens of thousands of people organically (without paid ads) and when we run paid ads this number increases exponentially.

Once you appreciate the power of these apps, the potential is limitless. Now that a very basic understanding of the power three is established, I will take my leave in the hopes that one person can capitalise on the opportunity available. My next article will go into the depths of each one, so stay alert to when this is released. Thank you for your time. Deepak Digwa.
