BRAND & DESIGN PHILOSOPHY Nickolas has created a brand along side a small rm in order to deliver a genuine one on one experience. Gurtler and his team have an identi able signature due to their bold & glamorous design style. They describe their philosophy as quote “Design, to us, should be transportive, immersive and thought-provoking. We seek to design spaces that create intrigue and invite curiosity. Whilst each project is different our studio aesthetic sits at the point of tension between stringent minimalism and absolute glamour, delicately balancing the opposing ideologies together. We call this “restrained glamour”. Our studio has a commitment to authenticity, a reverence for history and a longing to create. MAIN DESIGNERS & AREAS OF DESIGN With only a small studio, Nickolas Gurtler is the main Interior designer & creative director of his team. He handles all materiality selections, furniture & decor. Gurtler regularly employs interns to help him with this design process and offers them an abundance of knowledge & techniques along the way. Nickolas also employs a project manger that helps with all the behind the scene aspects of their projects including ff&e scheduling, calling suppliers, coordinating trades etc. An article about Nickolas Gurtler design studio was recently featured in the Australian design review & he mentions, I Quote: “ Surround yourself with people who are good at what they do, so you can do what you’re good at. It’s only been in the last couple of years where I have delegated out things like accounting and drafting. I was spread so thin, I couldn’t focus on the parts where I excel. “ Gurtler and his team often hire the best architects, landscape architects, Interior stylists & photographers to assist with their projects however only consist of a small team originally.

COLLABORATIONS Nickolas Gurtler’s design studio have collaborated with many business since lunching in 2015. Some of these include; Chamberlain property - Located in Melbourne. Nickolas designed their high end multi residential apartment schemes. Dion Robeson - Dion is an architecture & interior design photographer which the team at Nickolas Gurtler always employs to capture the character of their projects. Youth lab Australia - Collaborated with Youth lab to Design their agship store in Perth LBD studios -  A branding, design and content agency that elevates and transforms brands to help them grow, Nickolas collaborated with this business in his recent rebranding campaign. lf

MAIN PROJECTS Nickolas has many impressive projects under his belt that have gained attraction from some of the worlds most renown & reputable publications and magazines, including - The local projects - Vogue living - Belle magazine - Architectural digest & Many more! His main projects include the following: Youth Lab Claremont Interior Design & Decoration Nickolas’s collaboration with industry leading cosmetic brand youth lab is one of their widely recognised projects. Located in Claremont Perth, Gurtler was called upon to design their agship store. Moving away from medical clinic cliches, Nickolas designed a luxurious, glamorous & innovative space. lf

KBS Residence Interior Architecture, Interior Design & Decoration Engaged by a family who were soon to commence building their new residence reached out to the talents of Nickolas & his team to assist with interior architecture, design & decoration. Nickolas designed every aspect of the interior & looked towards Belgian & French architecture for inspiration to compose a layered and sophisticated family home.

RDG Residence Interior Decoration Nickolas’s most recognised project is his RDG residence. This inner city apartment combines both luxurious textures & materials that are layered in a sophisticated palette providing a timeless and contemporary appearance. In his very own apartment, Nickolas beautifully pushed the limits and experimented with luxurious textures, including; marble, brass & velvet. Overall this impeccably crafted and bespoke project takes viewers on a design journey back to the late 70’s & early 80’s. In 2020 Gurtler’s RDG residence was declared the “most popular & liked” home by Vogue living.

AWARDS Nickolas has recently been shortlisted for two reputable design awards this year, one being for his RDG residence, shortlisted in the Australian interior design awards as well as his KBS residence being shortlisted for best interior design scheme (Asia paci c award category) for the international design & architecture awards. Nickolas has also previously won 2 best of houzz awards in years 2018 & 2019 for his service & design. f i
