["Video \nInteraction \nGuidance \nBuilding relationships \nbetween parents \nand children","Video Interaction Guidance (VIG) is a \nstrengths-based intervention that promotes \nhealthy communication in relationships \nbetween parents and children. \nVIG is effective with parents and carers of \nchildren across all ages, including babies \nand even unborn babies, and is most often \nused with children under the age of 5 where \nbehaviour is a concern. \nThe aim of VIG is to understand behaviour \nand relationships. We\u2019re not here to advise \nyou on what you should do differently, and \nwe won\u2019t offer solutions. VIG is a \ncompassionate, respectful, hopeful, and \nstrengths-based intervention. \nIf you have thoughts that you are not doing a good job \nas a parent, VIG can help you move into a new \nnarrative about yourselfas a parent, about your child \nand about your relationship with your child.","The VIG Process: \n1. We will agree on a goal, such as \n\u201cI want to build a closer relationship \nwith my child\u201d \n2. We will take a video of a few minutes of \ninteractions between parents and children. \n3. We micro-analyse the video, editing \nit to create 'clips' of lovely moments \n4. We will talk about the clips together, \nreflect on what we saw, and build on \nthe strengths.
