Children, adolescents, and young people can experience a range of social, emotional, behavioural, and psychological difficulties. Sometimes, they can be overwhelmed by their feelings or by the world around them, and it can be difficult for them, and for their families, to understand and overcome the challenges that this brings. Our team of highly qualified clinical psychologists and counselling psychologists offer specialized psychological assessments and therapies, for many difficulties that children, adolescents, and young people can find themselves living with. Our team are exceptionally well-qualified, to doctoral level - the highest academic standards. Our team have spent many years with NHS teams and we are rigorously regulated by the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC). All the work we offer is based on the latest evidence, approved by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), and we wil l only ever provide support if we believe that we are best placed to do so. Clinical psychologists specialise in a variety of therapeutic approaches, and all can be used depending on expertise, training, and professional interests. We tend to practice Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Meta-Cognitive Therapy (MCT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), narrative therapies, family therapies, systemic and integrative therapies and neuropsychological work. cayp-psychology.com 0333 242 0824 Video Interaction Guidance (VIG) By reviewing authentic video clips from your real-life, we aim to help improve communication within families, develop relationships, and improve the bonding between parents and children. Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) Through conversations, guidance and exercises with parents, we can address children’s violent or self-destructive behaviours by resisting violence whilst conveying love and respect for your child. Mindfulness-Based Helping children and families to develop skills in being present, and being aware of their environment around them. We will work hard on not being overly reactive or being overwhelmed by what’s happening all around. Neuro-Rehabilitation For children, adolescents and young people who have an acquired brain injury, we can provide specialised assessments and emotional support, even for parents, to best understand their day-to-day life, strengths and difficulties. We also offer some highly specialised therapies, that may be offered based on the difficulties that your child is experiencing. Animal Assisted Therapies Any conversations, discussions and therapeutic support is completed with and alongside dogs and other animals which has shown to significantly improve children’s emotional and psychological wellbeing. Theraplay A fun, physical and interactive play-based approach designed to enhance attachment, develop self-esteem and build trust in others. Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) Informed Support A therapeutic parenting approach, based on attachment and developmental trauma, to help children and families understand and improve their relationships. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) A structured therapy to help children and young people recover from a trauma or other distressing life experiences. Internal Family Systems (IFS) Children's wellbeing and their minds are considered as parts of an individual's internal system, rather than a whole family system. We can develop techniques and strategies to understand how these separate parts interact.

How much will it cost CAYP Psychology prides itself on the professionalism and quality of our appointments. We offer appointments between £130 and £195 , depending on which psychologist you see, the day of the week, and at which time of the day. Payment is only due after your appointment, and payments must be made before any further appointments can take place. We accept all forms of payment. The Logistics and Practicalities We can also offer appointments online Our work together is highly confidential, so we do not talk to anyone else – including your GP or school – unless you’d like us to, or if there may be any danger to someone. We do not record any appointments by video or audio, but we will take notes to ensure we are practicing to the highest of standards. Any information about you, your child or your family is stored on our encrypted practice management software, accessible only by CAYP Psychology. Your information will never be shared publicly or sold. Appointments with this level of detail & skill require many years of training and experience. Clinical psychologists are considered to be the most highly qualified profession to provide psychological support for Children, Adolescents and Young people.
