Filipinos desire work-life balance, as well as a comfortable, secure, and peaceful life. This long-term goal, known as the AmBisyon Natin 2040, was discovered through a nationwide survey conducted in late 2015. This was around the time when we adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and then created the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2017-2022.

CLIMATE ACTION Our development strategies are guided by the goals and principles of sustainability and inclusivity. Engaging stakeholders is essential for a strategy to reach new and be owned by a diverse group of people who are motivated to see it succeed. With this, one of the actions that the Philippines started to take with is about Climate Change due to the fact that our world deeply suffers and needs action with regards to climate.

PROJECT NOAH THE NEW AND IMPROVED Project NOAH exemplifies the academic- government collaboration in providing quick weather updates for disaster preparedness.

The new and improved version of its disaster risk reduction and decision-making platform, Project NOAH, was launched on 11th December 2015 at the National Institute of Physics - Intel Center for Science Innovation in UP Diliman Project NOAH is the government's flagship disaster prevention and mitigation program, to create a disaster-free Philippines by giving information and resources to mitigate or avert natural disasters.

IT GIVES TIMELY STORM SURGE ADVISORIES It’s advisories had already been used during previous typhoons in the Philippines. The project is a collaboration between LGUs and the government of the Philippines IT HAS PRODUCED BARANGAY-LEVEL HAZARD MAPS Its hazard maps can be drilled down to a barangay level of specificity. These hazard maps also show which areas are safe for evacuation in typhoon-hit areas.

IT PROVIDES REAL-TIME WEATHER INFORMATION It shows the amount of rainfall experienced in different parts of the country in the past one, 3, 6, intensity12, or 24 hours, including its. IT HAS CREATED APPS THAT MAKE DISASTER PREPARATION EASIER Arko, an android and iOS mobile app, gives users up-to-the-minute weather updates. It can generate flood hazard maps within a 2.5-kilometer radius from one's location.

NATIONAL BAN ON SINGLE USE PLASTICS The Philippines is one of the most affected countries by plastic pollution in the world and this affects the climate of the country. A ban on single-use plastics is already implemented in a number of cities and municipalities in the Philippines.

STOP PLASTICS? YES! PAPER BAG TIME! Stopping the production of plastic is the most Currently, available alternatives to single-use excellent strategy to solve the plastic problem plastics encouraged the government to as per the NGOs and LGUs. Recycling, upcycling, and downcycling, and severe support and promote container and delivery remedies such as waste incineration do not address the source of the problem and will systems that don't rely on disposables. With only promote the continuous production of paper bagsthis, were used by most of the single-use plastic. stores in the Philippines.

Plastics, like any other chemical product such as fuels - gasoline, coal, oils, PCBs, Freon, etc., are not the problem; instead, we are unable to control the consequences despite scientific Plasticstudies and warnings from scientists. pollution is just one example of our failure to care for the environment. Plastic bags and other household items are only the \"noticeable\" evidence of our inability to dispose of solid waste properly. If we have collected and recycled all of the plastics, we can benefit from them by converting them into fuel. There is a solution. Collect and recycle all plastics. Plastics are all around us, from furniture to appliances, and even our ATMs, IDs, cellphones, and money like in other countries. Think differently and look for appropriate solutions that are already here and now.

QUICK CLIMATE CHANGE FACTS

NATIONAL FRAMEWORK STRATEGY ON CLIMATE CHANGE 2010-2022

The National Framework Strategy on Climate Change is dedicated to ensuring and enhancing our natural ecosystems and human communities' adaptability to climate change. The Framework aims to steer the Philippines down a more sustainable development path by emphasizing the strong partnership across climate change mitigation and adaptation. The goal of this national roadmapprocess is to create a that will serve as the foundation for a federal climate change program

The Climate Risk Management Framework provides risk information to enhance adaptive capacity. The National Commission for the Environment (NCRMF) has approved by Commissioners a Commission Resolution 2019-001 on climate risk management last 25 January 2019.One of the notable programs of “Antithe National Climate Risk Management Framework is the Single Use Plastic Campaign”.

fatal effects ofThe aim of the campaign is to lessen or remove the global warming and climate change. It starts with prohibiting the use of single use plastics and changing into more eco friendly ones like paper bags which are easy to decay, multi use shopping bags and many more. In this way the amount of non-biodegradable materials and the use of fossil fuels will be lessened due to the less manufacturing of single use plastics which uses fossil fuels to be manufactured.

PROJECT REBUILD The project aims to assess the disaster vulnerabilities of the cities and municipalities within the Cagayan River Basin and the Jalaur River Basin, Philippines,.

To increase the resilience of vulnerable communities, the Project will support the development of climate resilient livelihoods and risk sharing/transfer models. The Project will also help cull and organize knowledge on climate/disaster risk management for vulnerable communities.

LECB PROGRAM The Climate Change Commission (CCC) was established through the Climate Change Act RA 9729 of 2009 as a national policy-making body responsible for formulating and coordinating the country’s strategic framework on climate change, and for mainstreaming of climate change in national, local, and sectoral development plans.

Systematic accounting and reporting of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions was recognized as a key strategy by the government towards achieving its sustainable development and mitigation goals. Philippines policy initiatives and endeavor's for climate action were further supported through the Low Emission Capacity Building (LECB) project’s activities.

SHORT-LIVED CLIMATE POLLUTANTS The National Strategy to Reduce Short-Lived Climate Pollutants from the Municipal Solid Waste Sector in the Philippines was developed through a multi-stakeholder consultation process led by the Department of Environmental and Natural Resources (DENR) The Philippines supported international efforts to reduce GHG emissions by submitting its Intended Nationally Determined Contribution (INDC) in 2015, ratifying the Paris Agreement on Climate Change in 2017, and reviewing the 2018 recalculations in mitigation cost-benefit analysis (CBA) as inputs to the development of the country’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC).

PHILIPPINE DISASTER RESILIENCE FOUNDATION Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation(PDRF) is the country’s major private sector and coordinator that manages and engages in disaster related issues that may fall upon the country. Currently, they’ve been responding and providing support towards the major disaster issues that the country is facing as of 2021. Presently supporting COVID-19the national government concerning the Pandemic whom they provide PPE’s, food assistance and transport accommodations to the citizens and frontline workers.

FUNDING FOR NATURE- BASED SOLUTIONS TO PROTECT FORESTS In a country where 20 typhoons strike on average each year—last year's cyclones caused the worst floods in 45 years on the island of Luzon—well-managed forests and trees can help mitigate the effects of natural disasters.

BLUE CARBON PROJECTS: AMALCIGA TREE MANGROVES A women-led group in Palawan, the country's Blue carbon projects, such as the one final ecological frontier, is seeking funds for Almacigathe replanting of the tree as part of spearheaded by non-governmental the non-profit Centre for Sustainability PH's organization Conservation International that efforts. The Almaciga is an old tree that once aims to generate carbon credits from the mangrovesprotection of, which companies or dominated the northern province's woodlands. consumers can buy to offset their greenhouse The high-value resin it produces accounts for 80% of the income of the indigenous people gas emissions, are among the solutions that who protect the area. the Philippines could implement.

DECARBONIZING MERALCO PROJECT GreenPeaceThe project done by the organization is to Decarbonize the Meralco and other electrical companies that use unsustainable resources to have electricity such as fossil fuels. To implement the campaign and to continue in stopping the worsening of climate change, Greenpeace decides to support the use of renewable energy.

The organization presented to Meralco the advantages of using renewable energy and one of those factors is stopping the climate change, and being affordable at the same time. Using renewable affordableenergy is indeed because it uses the energy that is provided by the earth which is free. Harnessing the resources given by the environment is a must to provide a cost efficient energy for everyone. Thus, it can also help prevent the spread of climate change.

RESPONSIBLE MINING INFORMATION CAMPAIGN This Project done by the DENR hopes to lessen the effects of mining on climate change. This can be done by lessening the amount of mining here in the philippines. Mining has a lot of downside when it comes to climate change and its examples are large diesel trucks and loaders running around emitting CO2, which is the main contributor to anthropogenic climate change.

This campaign reaches out to the mining corporations and informs them that they need to lessen the mining here in the Philippines to minimize its effect on climate change. This is done through educating the mining companies to lessen their mining activities as set by the DENR. Once the mining companies disregard this campaign they will be fined and punished for their negligence on not being able to comply with the campaign. Meanwhile, MGB Director Atty. Wilfredo G. Moncano emphasized that the information campaign aims to promote an inclusive approach in ensuring the mining industry's commitment to the protection of people and the environment. That is why it is the mining corporation’s responsibility to mine responsibly as acted upon by this campaign.

CLIMATE REALITY PROJECT PHILIPPINES The Climate Reality Program is a global Climate Change project founded and chaired by the Former US Vice President Al Gore. Their purpose and mission is to raise the people’s awareness towards the climate and provide them knowledge and understanding to contribute on Climate Change and continue to create change towards the ever changing world.

The Pinoy Climate Reality Leaders reach about 1,200 individuals who share their experiences and promote their climate advocacy and reach out on the youth. The Branches are implementing climate action projects and plans that consist of climate change adaptation and mitigation.

AMIA PHILIPPINES The Department of Agriculture had issued a memorandum in the DA Programs, Plans and Budget that concern the climate change that had been affecting the agriculture industry in the Philippines. In their response, they had composed a Adaptation and Mitigation Initiative in Agriculture or AMIA that aims to create resilience toward the country's vulnerability to disasters. The project has 2 milestonecurrently reaching as of 2021 where they have built and Strengthened the DA enabling environment to mainstream climate change at the year end of 2015.
