Description: I was subsequently elected State Senator to the Florida Legislature in 1990, where I served until 2002. During that time I amended the foreclosure laws approximately 11 or 12 times. I never thought that I would be involved in defending homeowners with this plight in the future. I got involved with the process when a couple of friends where going through a difficult time and about to lose their homes because of the economic down turn. I referred them to someone else and they were not happy with how their case was being handled. They persuaded me to help them. Since I knew the law well, having worked on it in the Florida Senate, I got them a loan modification in about 3 months. They were very relieved and satisfied. These two friends referred 35 new clients to me. This is when I decided to open my own firm. At that time I had retired from law for 3 years.
