Back Safety For many employees, back injuries are something that “happens to the other person... not to me.” Yet four out of five people will experience some type of back problems during their lives. And many back injuries are caused by common activities experienced both on and off the job... such as lifting, climbing, reaching, etc. This course emphasizes the importance of overall back care, both at work and at home, including exercises and weight control. Approximately 30 Minutes Basic Electrical Safety Basic Electrical Safety in the Workplace course gives a basic understanding of electricity. There are different types of electricity or electrical energy; low voltage, high voltage, static electricity, alternating current, direct current, and so on. This course is designed to make you more aware of electrical safety. It’s important to understand how electricity works and preventing shocks. Approximately 15 Minutes Bloodborne Pathogens This course is designed to provide an understanding of bloodborne pathogens, modes of transmission and methods of prevention. Bloodborne pathogens training is required if you anticipate coming in contact with blood or other potentially infectious material as part of your job duties. Health care facilities require bloodborne pathogen training and exposure plan. In addition to health care facilities, industrial nurses, first aid providers, emergency responders can also be exposed to bloodborne pathogens and require training. Proper procedure in disposal of contaminated materials is discussed. Approximately 30 Minutes Bucket Truck Safety Bucket trucks are also known as aerial lift trucks. This equipment is used in every industry and comes with risks and hazards. Bucket trucks are used to elevate personnel to tasks above the ground. Serious injuries and deaths have occurred in construction, mining, tree trimming, public works and fire fighting. Common falls and electrocution are the hazards when operating this equipment. Workers whose jobs are outside are at risk as well as professional athletes. Approximately 15 Minutes Ladder Safety Landscape workers have a lot of responsibility maintaining parks, highways and other areas that provide enjoyment for a large number of people. They are also responsible for fire safety in these areas. The equipment, chemicals and techniques used can be hazardous. This course focuses on safety awareness in landscape maintenance. Approximately 15 Minutes Landscape Maintenance Safety Landscape workers have a lot of responsibility maintaining parks, highways and other areas that provide enjoyment for a large number of people. They are also responsible for fire safety in these areas. The equipment, chemicals and techniques used can be hazardous. This course focuses on safety awareness in landscape maintenance.
