TRAVELODGE, MANCHESTER Garnett Netherwood were appointed by API Ltd to substantial alteration of the rear elevation to Back refurbish the former Woolworth department store Piccadilly. The external envelope of the building on Piccadilly Gardens in the centre of Manchester. was fully refurbished with new windows, shopfronts and a full cleaning of the existing Portland stone The conversion consists of a new 157 bedroom façades. Travelodge hotel in the upper levels of the building, with three retail units on the ground floor and basement level. The proposal includes the insertion of central lightwells for the bedrooms, the remodelling of the existing roof to provide an additional floor of bedrooms within a new zinc mansard roof and the GARNETT NETHERWOOD ARCHITECTS 7

PREMIER INN, MANCHESTER Garnett Netherwood were appointed by Greenalls to design a nine storey hotel for the Premier Lodge brand. The site is on the edge of Manchester’s central conservation area and many of the neighbouring buildings are grade II listed. The brief was to provide 147 bedrooms with a leisure club, bar and restaurant on the ground floor. GARNETT NETHERWOOD ARCHITECTS 9
