What regular folks are saying:“Walt, next to my Bible, your book, Turn Your Passion Into Profit is the book I reference the most inmy house! It is the only other book that is constantly visible (it’s on the dining room table right now)!”—Karon Mason Etienne“...My husband had a total revelation about his passion as a result of your book two years ago andwe both really like your work. Peace and Blessings, Ruth!”—Ruth Kirby, Medford, OR“Do you know how it is when you’ve run across something that is just what you’ve been lookingfor, but didn’t know you were looking for it? Well, that’s how I feel about having found your[Passionprofit.com] site! I am excited about what I see in your company and am looking forwardto becoming more involved. Honestly Walt, I haven’t seen anything on the internet that has somoved me as what I’ve experienced visiting your site! Thanks again and again!”—Henry Street“I have read many “self-help” books, but yours is actually instructional and answers questions. Itaddresses how I feel and what I am thinking. I also e-mailed you several months ago about how I[pursue my passion] when I have a house to pay for, a child to support, etc...and you told me tostart out slowly and build. Like you said in your book, it is scary. However, I am doing what yousaid and am starting to feel so much better. I realize I have a long way to go but, I think justrealizing that I don’t have to stay in one of those 9-to-5 jobs working for someone else gives me somuch courage to get out there and start doing what I want! Thank you so much for the book andthe inspiration. I truly appreciate it!”—Tammy van der Leest“I want to thank you again for all the insights you shared with me yesterday. Listening to youenabled me to see my situation in a whole new light. As a result, I’m now focusing on variousactivities I would like to engage in rather than fretting over my life’s purpose, which I’m sure willshow itself to me in time.”—Shelly“Yeah, why else did I go to college for 8 years to be turning someone else’s key!! Time isimportant. Better to start right away with my own business than to juggle a bunch of part-timestints with no long-lasting benefits to me or society. You are right... I just hope to God that I findmy way through the obstacles, and plethora of get-rich-quick schemes and information out thereon the net! Your book will be a fine manual for putting this business together.”—a client“I will be eternally grateful to know that there is a mentor out there who is available to offeradvice on turning my passion into profit! Again thanks... I will ponder over what you’ve justshared with me for the remainder of the day and I am certain my God-given brain will come upwith some answers and thought-provoking questions! Thanks!! PS. I was up for 5 hours last nightbrowsing your site and taking in information! What swell work you have done!!” —T., a client\"I’ve seen a lot of motivational books (such as Tony Robbins’ stuff) and this one is VERY different. What you don't get is the typical fluff and puff of most motivational writings that only temporarilymake you feel inspired yet leaving the reader with not knowing really how to apply it. This authoractually describes the \"HOW TO\" in coming up with your own passion ideas for making an incomestream based off what you know and what you are passionate about. This is the KEY difference. Hedescribes the step by step process and even shows how he markets his books too. I haven't seen othermotivational books that do that. This author is very direct, real and down to earth which is what Ithink makes him so credible. It’s real life common sense stuff that he teaches you how to act on anda lot of \"make sense\" philosophical creeds\" to go along with it all. I give this book the highestpossible recommendation. It can be a life changer to those who read it!\"—Steve Neese

See Coaching questionnaire in Appendix and request an application (I can’tcoach everyone) at www.passionprofit.com/coachingPassion is now part of “The Integrated Life” series Over the years, I've observed that in the pursuit of economic survival, bodilysustenance and social acceptance, people often (1) disregard their passion in order tofocus on a practical career, (2) allow their diet and food choices to undermine theirhealth, and (3) deny their sexual and gender wiring in order to conform to societalconcepts of relationship. Therein lies the majority of unhappiness in our modern life. Instead of the usual choices above, however, it is possible to live what I refer toas the integrated life—a life in which (as covered in Turn Your Passion Into Profit) yourpassion is integrated into your means of securing financial survival; and (as covered inother books in the series) your food choices actually help your body stay young, reverseaging and heal itself, and your choice of partners and relationship structure supports yourdeepest desires, honors your fantasies and affirms your gender wiring; a life in which it isrecognized and honored that each of these areas complements and facilitates the othertwo. Ducks in a Row! Ducks in a Row??? Please. How to find the courage to finally QUIT your soul-draining, life-sapping, energy- depleting, freedom-robbing job now...before it's too late…and live passionately ever after! (ISBN-13: 978- 1482364187; 5.5\" x 8.5\"; 100pp) is the \"prequel\" to Turn Your Passion Into Profit and answers a question I often get asked by coaching clients and workshop attendees who want to know how I did it! THE DEFINITION: ducks in a row: slang. Everything is ready, all preparations are complete; to have everything just the way you want before you take the next step. Usage example: \"I definitely want to quit my job and pursue my passion, but I want to get all myducks in a row before I hand in my resignation.\"THE FLAW: Sure, we've all seen ducks in a row. The trouble is, you’ll nevermeet a set of ducks who enjoy standing in a row for too long. Watch them longenough and they eventually break formation. In other words, if you're waiting forthings to be perfect and stay perfect for before you act on your dreams, and ifquitting your job and becoming a passionpreneur is contingent on your ducksstaying in line for the duration, you might be in for a rude awakening.THE TRUTH: It's not about the freakin' ducks!! It never was and never will be.It's about finding the courage to do something you need to do whether the ducksare arranged the way you want them to be or not! See, if you make it about theducks, then you've got to keep herding ducks every day of your life. On the otherhand, if you practice taking action regardless of what formation the ducks are in,you'll be better prepared for the realities of life as well as business! The truth is, Iknow your dirty little secret and I'm going to expose it. The truth is, there ARE noducks!!! That’s just an excuse you’re using to delay taking action. Well, you don’thave to play that game any more! In this prequel to Turn Your Passion Into Profit,I'll take you through the step-by-step mental, emotional and physical processes ofwhat it took to make that life-changing decision, hand in my resignation, burn thatbridge, and walk away from my \"good job\" forever with no safety net and noteven a penny in savings! There was something in particular that gave me thecourage to do it, and I share that with you in all its gory detail! \"It's not about the freaking' ducks! It’s about finding the courage to live your dreams regardless of what formation the ducks are in! ~ W. Goodridge (duck slayer)

12 Turn Your Passion Into Profit Mission, Philosophy, Formula & PromiseThe Mission“I am proud to offer the world a philosophy and formula for turning one’s passion into profit. I encourage its use by parents, teachers, coaches, as well as within institutions of higher learning. It is my hope that it will foster a greater understanding and appreciation of our inherent value as spiritual beings and the expression of that value within the physical marketplace. It is my wish that these ideas lead a revolution in thought and in deed and usher in a new era of entrepreneurial expression, financial independence, and personal freedom.” — Walt F.J. Goodridge. The Passion ProphetThe Philosophy Your PASSION is part of your life’s purpose HAPPINESS in life starts when you pursue it EVERYONE has a passion ALL passions have value ANY passion can be turned into profit You can make money doing what you love! The Formula: The Cycle of SuccessThe Promise: Value No One Can Steal \"If you create and market a product or service through a business that is in alignment with your personality, capitalizes on your history, incorporates your experiences, harnesses your talents, optimizes your strengths, complements your weaknesses, honors your life’s purpose, and moves you towards the conquest of your own fears, there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY that anyone in this or any other universe can offer the same value that you do!\"

“One step beyond the wish, is the way.” Chapter 1: Your Mission to Dream! \"Imagining a Passion-Centered Lifestyle\"Welcome to a different world! Congratulations! You are about to enter a brave new world! Everything you now believe and accept about the world, about money, aboutvalue, about making a living, about your self, your self-worth, your value to the world, other people, how others see you, and even about your very purpose on the planet isabout to be challenged. By choosing to turn your passion into profit, you've embarked ona mission to dream. If you follow through with that dream, you’ll be doing somethingmany people talk about and wish for, but that few actually find the courage to do. The reason more people don't take this journey is simply that it's uncomfortable. It involves growth, and growth requires stretching beyond the known towards a new goalin the unknown. If your goal is, in fact, to turn your passion into profit, then please knowthat the answers you're looking for, the guidance you need to achieve that goal won'tsound anything like what you're accustomed to hearing from the people around you. It'sthat discomfort that tends to make people fearful and give up on their dream. For most of your life you've heard that in order to be a good child, a goodstudent, good employee, good spouse and a good and functioning member of society thatyou have to give up your dreams, and do what's practical. You've heard essentially thatyou have to choose between passion and profit. Now, if you're open to seeing things differently, I’m first going to suggest to youthat unless you are, in fact, pursuing your passion, then your life is only being half-lived.Furthermore, if you're not pursuing that passion for profit, then you have no clue whatyou're missing out on! There's a whole other world that you’ve yet to experience. There'sa world of freedom, of fulfillment, and of living each day with a sense of purpose andpassion. There's a world where you get up every day eager to see what happens next; aworld where you make money simply by being and becoming more of who you are andwho you were meant to be; a world that rewards you for the uniqueness you bring to theparty, not for doing what someone else decides is important for their balance sheet orfinancial bottom line, or what someone else decided years ago you should be or do, basedon their worldview or their definition of success. You've paid a few dollars for the chance to really change your life, and I'm goingto deliver on the promise of the title of this book. I'm going to share with you aphilosophy and a formula for turning your passion into profit. Remember, one stepbeyond the wish is the way! Chapter 1: Mission to Dream 15Who are the Passionpreneurs? By taking this bold step into this new world, you’ll join the ranks of a uniquegroup of people I call “passionpreneurs,” a word I coined that is a portmanteau* of thewords “passion” and “entrepreneur.” Passionpreneurs are men and women of every age, ethnic group, educationalbackground, profession and religion. They include housewives, inventors and artists. They are a diverse group of people from every corner of the globe who share a commontrait: they’ve all found something they enjoy doing and have decided to keep doing it. What’s more, not only do passionpreneurs enjoy what they do, they get paid todo it! They’ve found the hidden value in their hobbies, talents and interests, offer thatvalue to the world as unique products and services, and do so for profit. In other words, they’ve created businesses to make money doing what they love. As a result, many havewalked away from frustrating nine-to-five jobs to live a passion-centered lifestyle. Theyset their own schedules and control their time. They live according to a personal valuesystem rather than someone else’s. Furthermore, passionpreneurs experience the joy, empowerment and unique satisfaction of being compensated for being who they chooseto be, honoring what they believe in and doing something they feel divinely called to do.*portmanteau: n. a combination of two or more words or morphemes into one new word (um,maybe I need to define morpheme, too! morpheme: n. a meaningful linguistic unit—a word or aword element—that cannot be divided into smaller meaningful parts.)ANYONE can do this The Passionpreneur Club is not exclusive. I contend that everyone can turn his orher passion into profit because of a few special beliefs I have about people. First, I believe that everyone is creative. We are each an individual expression ofcreation. Therefore, we each have within us the ability to create as well. I also believe that success is a process that can be taught and learned. Everythingthat I've listed as the keys to my own success are ways of being that I learned andpracticed until they became my own habits. I believe people can learn to be successful. Yes, I believe anyone can turn a passion into profit. It doesn't matter if you'venever run a business before. It doesn't matter if you don't believe you're creative. Itdoesn't matter what you think your present skills and talents are. I've seen people whoconsidered themselves very ordinary, do some very extraordinary things once they weregiven a vision that inspired them—a vision presented in a way that moved them to action. I also believe that people need more than motivation. I've observed many peoplewho attend motivational seminars who leave high on momentary motivation, but havingacquired no definite direction in which to apply it, find themselves \"back at square one\"shortly after. They leave marveling at another’s success, but often don't make thenecessary connection in their own lives. I believe people can succeed if they simply knowwhat to do next in the process. I believe, too, that everything you need to become successful is already yours.Every desire, motivation, talent, skill, reason and rhyme you need is already a part of you. And finally, I know one individual who went to school for engineering—whonever took a writing course, and who couldn't bring himself to strike up a conversationwith a stranger—who is now inspiring others as a successful entrepreneur, author andpublic speaker. Yes, my friend, if I can do it, you can too!

16 Turn Your Passion Into ProfitHow this book came to be The story of how this book came into being is itself a good example of the powerof pursuing one’s passion. I was living in Silver Spring, Maryland at the time, and hadjust sent my book, Lessons In Success, off to the printer. Because of the success of mywebsites, I was being sought for my expertise on launching online ventures. I was invitedby an organization called the National Money League (NML) to give a talk entitled\"Doing Business on the Internet\" as part of their Eagle's Nest workshop—a seven-weekcourse that focuses on mastering different elements of prosperity. As I always like to do when I give public talks, I involved the attendees from thevery start and tailored my presentation to their immediate needs and interests. Idiscovered that people were more interested in discovering what their passions were, andhow they could make money doing it, than finding some turn-key online business theycouldn't really get excited about. As a result, the discussion evolved into a brainstormingsession in which we all contributed suggestions to help individual attendees discoverwhat it is he/she loved to do and to come up with business ideas with which to capitalizeon those unique interests. It was truly an exciting and magical night! According to NML founder, Sidney Harleston, what happened that night reallygot people excited. She invited me to return as one of several presenters in a single-dayworkshop that would allow more people to experience the magic of that first evening. Over the course of the next week, Sidney shared with me the enthusiastic pre-event response she was receiving to my topic. There was so much, in fact, that Sidneysaid she could sell all the available seats just on that section alone. She then added, \"It'sgreat that your book [Lessons In Success] will be out by then, too!\" \"Sure,” I replied, “but Lessons In Success isn't about creating a business aroundyour passion.” I added jokingly, “I'd probably have to write a separate book for that!\" Atthat instant, that old familiar light bulb went on and shone brightly on an idea that I nowrealize had been in production for most of my life, and that had reached completion atthat very moment. The idea that was conceived at that moment was the perfect embodiment of whatmy life had been about for the previous eight years. Ever since I walked away from mycorporate job, it seemed that friends, family and strangers had been inspired by mycommitment to my passion, and have asked me to share my experiences, insights, tipsand advice to help them do the same. A book on that very topic was actually longoverdue. I decided to call the book How To Make Money Doing What You Love. A few days later, Sidney called to tell me the name she had come up with for mysection of the all-day workshop. She decided to call it “Turn Your Passion Into Profit.” \"Hmmm,\" I thought to myself. \"That's a catchier title. Perhaps I'll use that.\" The next day, I sat down to write the book you are now reading. My task, overthe weeks that followed Sidney’s phone call was simply to add the content to herconcept; to put the knowledge that already existed in my mind, into a form others couldaccess. This book, therefore, is filled with information that I have been living and sharingwith thousands of people in many different ways. It is nothing less than every single wordof advice and guidance I've given to the questions people have asked over the years. So, with special gratitude to Sidney Harleston, I now offer to you and to theworld, Turn Your Passion into Profit, my best information, inspiration and ideas to helpyou make money doing what you love!

18 Turn Your Passion Into Profit This book will not exempt you from the challenges you will face or the life testsyou will be given, but it will help you to better interpret the lessons they offer. This book will not be the definitive source on every topic it covers. It is designedto highlight the areas that are connected to your success, and offer guidance if you wishto pursue more knowledge in those areas. This book will not guarantee a specific dollar amount in profit from your venture. My area of expertise is business ideas and strategies that can free you. What you do withthe seed of an idea and how much money you ultimately create using these strategies isup to you and your belief level, as well as what author, T. Harv Ecker, calls your “moneyblueprint.” By virtue of our ingrained relationship with money, each of us is “coded” toattract different levels of wealth. Two people can achieve vastly different incomes usingthe same information and implementing the same strategies. This book will not guarantee that the first passion you choose will be successful. It will, however, exist as a constant reminder that success is a journey, and that whereyou end up is always a function of your next step. Remember, this is a process. How to use this book As I mentioned earlier, I believe success is a process that can be learned. In orderto extract the greatest benefit from this book, it is important to know how we learn. We learn by asking the right questions. At the end of each chapter aresuggestions and questions entitled “The Right Questions To Ask.” These mentalexercises condition your mind to go ever deeper into its infinite pool of resources to findsolutions to the challenges you face. We learn by doing. This book is meant to be interactive and experiential. Onceyou know the right questions to ask, the next step is to create a “to do” list based on thosequestions. All great achievers work from lists. If you gain nothing else from this bookother than the habit of creating lists from which to tackle the challenges of your life, you’ll be among the world’s great achievers. I encourage you to perform the suggestedtasks in the follow-up file at the end of each chapter. We learn new ideas, skills and habits through repetition. Go through theexercises over and over. Each time you do, you'll find yourself moving closer and closerto your goals. Finally, we learn best by teaching others. Imagine you'll be required to give aPassion to Profit workshop. Explain the concept, the process and the strategies. Inparticular, explain those sections with which you have the most difficulty. You'll find thatby teaching a thing it becomes a part of you that you can tap into at any time. The secret power of life rhymes! Chapter 1: Mission to Dream 19Don’t judge the messenger This book offers a philosophy and a formula inspired by information and ideasfrom such varied sources as network marketing, Scientology, Hinduism, Veganism,Eckankar, Astrology, Caribbean culture, and from people as ideologically different asDeepak Chopra, Elijah Muhammad, Les Brown, Buddha, and a wacky engineer friend ofmine in New Jersey. Don’t judge the messengers. No more excuses As you proceed through this journey, you may find yourself challenged bydoubts and fears. While this is a natural part of being human, giving into them doesn’thave to be. Here are my suggested counter-arguments for “The Top Ten Excuses PeopleGive Themselves For Not Following Their Passion:”Excuse #1: Will people really want to pay me for this? One of the truths of turning passion into profit is that anything created out ofpassion has value that will resonate with others.Excuse #2: I don’t have the credentials. Most successful entrepreneurs don’t have formal educations or degrees.Excuse #3: If it does sell, will it continue long enough for me to be successful? The question is not whether IT will continue long enough for you to besuccessful, but will YOU?Excuse #4: I don't know where to begin. You feel this way because you feel overwhelmed by the task. Make your list ofthings to do and simply take one step at a time.Excuse #5: I have kids and a family to feed. Yes, and soon the kids will have additional expenses like college tuition. Ratherthan working more and more hours to make more money, wouldn't it be easier to putsomething in place to decrease your dependence on a single stream of income?Excuse #6: I'm not a good business person. That's not a requirement. Many successful entrepreneurs are \"idea people\" whowere simply smart enough to find people who are good in the areas they weren’t.Excuse #7: If I leave my job, I'll lose my pension and benefits. If it's predicted that 97% of the population will retire dependent on family, friends and the federal government to survive, and those people are doing pretty much thesame thing you are, what assurances do you have that your fate won't be the same?Besides, no one's saying you have to leave your job, but simply think about creatingsomething that can at least create additional streams of income.Excuse #8: I'll think about that when I'm older. And in the meantime? There really is no such thing as the future. There is only now!

20 Turn Your Passion Into ProfitExcuse #9: It'll take too long for me to be successful at it. Ask yourself: \"How old will I be in 10 years?\" Then ask, \"How old will I be in10 years, if I do this?\" Then, \"How old will I be in 10 years if I don’t do this?\" Do youget it? The fact is, the years are going to pass regardless of what you decide to do. Thechoice is: pass the years unhappy and frustrated or pass them in pursuit of fulfillment?Excuse #10: I'll start when I have the money to invest. Many people assume that no action can be taken unless and until they have acertain amount of money. In fact, just the opposite is true. Paperwork can be completed.Products can be designed. Calls can be made. Estimates can be acquired. Marketingstrategies can be mapped out. And it's been my experience that if you proceed as if youhave the money, faith will bring what you need. The creative power of the universe isbrought to bear by commitment and serves men and women who go after their dreams. Now none of this is meant to trivialize the reality of your current situation, or toimply that the challenges you face aren't real. Yes, it is challenging to raise three kids, hold down a job, and pursue a passion at the same time. However, what you need duringthose moments that threaten to overwhelm you are simply reminders that others havedone it, and that you can too. You need to be reminded that the alternative is toperpetuate the same unhappiness that drove you to do something different in the firstplace. You need to be reminded of the fact that you can be, do and have anything youwant if you're simply willing to pay the price. It may not always be easy, but it willalways be worth it. Remember, you can always find excuses not to do something you'reafraid of doing. The question is: can you find the courage to act even in the face of fear? It’s not about credentials So what is it that stops you?regulations or degrees Well, the truth is that you're scaredIt’s not about some board But rather than admit itthat validates your expertise you just say you're unpreparedIt’s not about the cash flow When children want they're fearlessor that “money’s kinda tight” for there's nothing they want moreIt’s not about your rent But as adults choose safetyor getting finances just right the predictable and sureIt’s not about you needing proof And skill and time and money?and knowing this scheme works You know what I'll say is true:It’s not about your pension plan Some do more with a whole lot lessjob benefits or perks They’re not half as bright as you! It’s not about your debts Yes, all you need's desireor paying back the student loan forget all that other stuffIt’s not about your age And simply ask one question:or waiting ‘til the kids are grown \"Do I want this bad enough?\"And NO, it’s not a time thing Walt's Life Rhyme #316so just stop THAT idle chatter Excuses, ExcusesWe all know people find the timefor things that really matter

Chapter 1: Mission to Dream 21Rules for the journey In order to help you conquer those fears, eliminate those excuses and optimizeyour success, I’ll share some of the rules I have for my workshops and coaching sessions.Speak in terms of your new passion-centered “income strategy” Tonya was an administrative assistant who had been working various temporaryassignments for some time. She came to see me because she longed to be a full-timepassionpreneur, but felt that something was holding her back. I asked her why she wantedto start her own business, and as she replied, I found myself a bit confused. She revealedshe always loved her “job” and wanted to do it ever since she was fifteen. It wasn't until Irealized that she was using the word \"job\" to refer to her passion for planning weddings, that my confusion subsided. I asked if she had a “day job.” She said yes. I then asked ifshe enjoyed that job. She said no. I explained to Tonya that the words we use create therealities we associate with them, and that if she thought of her wedding planning passionas \"a job,\" that she might end up creating for herself yet another unsatisfying jobexperience rather than something new. In passionese—the language of passionpreneurs—a \"job\" restricts, controls and suppresses. A \"passion,” on the other hand, empowers, satisfies and frees. Your passion can no longer be referred to as just a hobby, something“on-the-side,” or worse, a “job.” The methods of generating income we’ll explore maydefy traditional terminology and won’t always fit into neat name boxes others recognize. From now on, let’s refer to these methods as part of your new “income strategy.” At thenext dinner party you attend, you might find yourself (just like Tonya) saying, “I have aninternet-based, passion-centered income strategy…and my passion is wedding planning.”Stop using the word “problem” “Problems” (like the ones we encountered in math class) are things we may nothave the answers to—that cause stress and anxiety. “Challenges” on the other hand, aresituations we rise to meet. “Opportunities” are what we take advantage of for our benefit!Don’t argue on behalf of your limitations Sometimes I’ll choose a “volunteer” at my workshops, engage her and findmyself suggesting possible solutions, remedies and strategies while she argues back whyit’ll never work given her unique situation. I end up struggling to convince, and she endsup arguing on behalf of her limitations. The goal of this journey is to find solutions andstrategies, but you won’t discover them if you immediately see your challenges asinsurmountable. Instead, ask yourself “How can I make this work in my life?”Stop using the word “try” Whenever someone uses the word “try,” he is not committed. “I’ll try and makeit to your party next week” is the response of someone who doesn’t really intend toattend, and is giving you his excuse in advance (i.e. “I really tried, but I couldn’t makeit.”) As the great philosopher, Yoda, says, there is no try, there is only do and do not.Instead of “I’m trying to start my own business,” say “this is what I intend to do…”or“my goal is..” or “I’m in the process of...”“I don’t know” is not an acceptable answer When I ask what’s your passion, or what’s holding you back, “I don’t know” isnot an acceptable answer. If you don’t know the reasons for your behaviors, who does??

22 Turn Your Passion Into ProfitLaura’s permission to dream Laura is an eighth-grader I had the pleasure of tutoring in math. One day, as wefinished our tutoring session, Laura and I started talking about personal interests. Aftermuch probing, I discovered that Laura really loves to sing. She told me, however, that herlove of singing, and the unique thrill she gets doing it was something she had to hidefrom her parents, as they thought in terms of traditional paths of education andemployment. As I encouraged her to tell me more about her passion, Laura became adifferent person once she realized that I was an adult who wanted to hear about herdreams, and who would actually encourage her to think seriously about being a singer. I’ve since lost touch with Laura, but I truly hope she continues to honor herpassion. I truly hope, as well, that you too can reconnect with your dreams with the sameexcitement of a 12-year-old who's been given permission—and a mission—to dream!Decide Once you’ve given yourself permission and a mission to dream, and believe thata new world is possible for you, the next step in your journey is simply to decide. Decidethat you fully intend to discover a passion around which to build a business. Decide thatyou are willing to leave your present reality behind. Decide that you want to be free fromliving the lies that others have forced upon you. Decide that you will seek out others whoare doing it, and who can provide support and inspiration. Decide that you will commit tothis journey until you reach your destination.

Chapter 6: Passion Eureka! The SECOND Law of Passion Dynamics: “Everyone has a passion. That passion equips you to fulfill your purpose.” pas'sion (pash´en) n. 1. boundless enthusiasm; 2. the object of such enthusiasmWhat is a passion? According to the dictionary, passion is both boundless enthusiasm, as well as theobject of such enthusiasm. Anything can be a passion. Passions span a wide range ofinterests as well as every conceivable type of person, place, thing or idea from themundane to the esoteric. From the shallow to the profound. From the ordinary to the rare. There are people who are passionate about certain types of food, music, a particularlifestyle, a period in history, fruits, pets, dancing, singing, humor, cars, religion, boats, fishing, celebrities, helping others, you name it! In fact, there are as many possiblepassions as there are words in the dictionary. So as I scan further down the page, I can'thelp thinking there are people who are passionate about pasta, pastels, pastiche, pastilles, pastry, pattycake, patchwork, paté, patellas and patents! There are also many ways to express a passion. You may express your passionfor words by writing novels or poetry. Your passion for certain ideas may lead you to bea teacher or consultant. You may express your sports passion by playing, coaching orsimply being a fan. Your people passion may find you traveling, volunteering, or openinga restaurant. Your passion for certain times of day may inspire you to paint sunsets, climbmountains at noon, or rise before sunrise every day. You might live your passion forcertain places doing just about anything as long as it's by the sea, or in Alaska, or inZimbabwe. Your passion for certain objects might find you collecting clocks, fixing cars,or selling jewelry. Your passion for certain periods in history might make you a collectorof antiques, or a tour guide for historical landmarks. Passion makes the world go ‘round. If you’re not sure what your passion is, this chapter will help you discover it. If youalready know your passion, then get ready to see it in a completely different way!

90 Turn Your Passion Into ProfitWhat’s NOT a passion While the title of this book is Turn Your Passion Into Profit, a passion shouldn’tbe viewed as just any business idea that makes you money. There's a big differencebetween turning your passion into profit, and simply turning a profit. Any business canmake you money, and there's certainly nothing wrong with finding a lucrative businessand using it to create the reality you dream of. (In fact, if more people would simply dothat, the level of happiness in the world would increase tenfold.) However, evenprofitable business vehicle might fail to sustain your interest, and eventually fail simplybecause they are not meeting your needs. You may have some success, but may still endup looking for something else later. It’s that something else that we seek in this chapter.Yes, a passion-centered business answers to a higher calling. A passion is also not someone else's idea of what you should be doing. \"My dadthinks I’d make a great doctor\" is not a valid reason to pursue that profession. Eventhough you can and will use other people's observations about your talents and strengthsin discovering your passion, the final choice should be something you decide is importantto you. No, a passion cannot be an obligation or someone else's vision for you. It must beyours and yours alone.A job by any other name One of the most common tendencies people have when they start thinking aboutdoing something they love is to start looking to standard professions. They hold out thehope that changing professions will offer them a means of escape from the monotony andlack of fulfillment of their present form of incarceration, er, I mean employment.Unaccustomed to thinking about making money in ways other than those with names likelawyer, social worker and accountant, they make choices only within those boxes. It’s time, however, to think outside the box. As you search for your passion, don’t make the mistake of simply trading one form of employment for another. While it’strue that some jobs may be more satisfying than others, and that you can get degrees offulfillment from various forms of employment, what we’re doing here is somethingcompletely different. We’re not looking for an existing box within which to fit ourselves. We’re starting with our dreams, and constructing our own box from scratch.Your desire is your degree No resume is needed in order to live the Passion Profit lifestyle. There are no pre-qualifications, just your natural gifts, talents and interests. A lack of formal education ordegrees will not exclude you as long as you have a willingness to learn. Your desire is theonly degree you’ll need. In addition, there’s no job description to adhere to because you are creating a lifethat allows you the freedom to follow your heart from one day to the next. 348 Turn Your Passion Into Profit The Journey Continues in The Integrated Life™ series of productsbalancing passion with career, diet with health & sexuality with relationship “I share what I know, so that others may grow!\" --Walt Goodridge As an author, and as part of my personal mission, my greatest wish is to share thedetails of what I’ve learned with as many people as possible. So, I write books, and yes Isell those books! That's what I do. That's the VALUE that I've been blessed to be able toprovide to the world in exchange for the things of value that I desire. That's how Isurvive. As we learned in Turn Your Passion Into Profit, That's how ANY of us survivesin this world, really. We offer something of value—whether it's our time, experience, expertise or training—in exchange for something of equivalent value. I'm proud to say that my books have been used as texts for university courses, asguides by other coaches, and my ideas have been quoted in books by Guerrilla Marketingguru Jay Conrad Levinson, music industry pioneer Chuck D, and other business authorsworldwide. I hope you can find something of value among the products below! The Integrated Life: a blueprint for balancing passion with career, dietwith health & sexuality with relationship by Walt F.J. Goodridge I've written this blueprint because I've observed that in the pursuit of economic survival, bodily sustenance and social acceptance, people often (1) disregard their passion in order to focus on a practical career, (2) allow their diet to undermine their health, and (3) deny their sexual and gender wiring in order to conform to societal concepts of relationship. Therein lies the majority of unhappiness in our modern society. Instead of these choices, however, it is possible to live what I refer to as “the integrated life”—a life in which your passion is integrated into your income strategy; your choice of food activates your body’s healing code to stay young and reverseaging, and your choice of partners and relationships honors your desires andfantasies and affirms your gender wiring; a life in which it is recognized that eachof these areas complements and facilitates the other two; a life in which allelements are combined and coordinated so that they become a harmonious, interrelated whole. 120 pages; 6.0 x 9.0; ISBN: 978-1517297077; Take the test atwww.integratedlifetest.comPaperback | Kindle | Nook | on Amazon
