“Everyone has the power for greatness, not for fame but greatness, because greatness is determined by service.” Martin Luther King Dear Club Presidents and Board Members for the 2022-23 Rotary Year, Dear District Officers, Dear friends, Rotarians, Rotaractors and Interactors, From July 1, 2022, the Rotary wheel began its new rotation and I want to thank you for your trust and for sharing this exciting journey TOGETHER. These 525,600 minutes to strengthen our friendship, achieve our goals and make the dreams of more people come true, each of us—at least one more person. Let’s reinvent Rotary in a new way and leave even a tiny trace. I am convinced that this year will also be filled with many good causes and sustainable projects, because we have already discussed great ideas with most of you. Now is the time to act. I believe that we will create many new friendships and with understanding, good mood and positive emotions we will make a change for the better and be kind to ourselves, our families and society. We must stay true to our Rotary values because they are our strength and faith: FRIENDSHIP—We are all in Rotary together because of friendship and we should cherish it as a priceless gift. INTEGRITY—Work to create and develop an environment of understanding, integrity and engagement of members through their active involvement in club activities. Create an inclusive environment for young and newly admitted members. DIVERSITY—Today more than ever we need strong clubs that appeal to more people, of different age, social group, race and gender. To attract more young professionals to our clubs. SERVICE—We are all not only members of our clubs, but also part of our communities. To be people of action who with great love and dedication give of their time to help people in need. LEADERSHIP—Each of us is a leader in our profession, in society and in the club. Be bold, with a clear vision and specific goals. Encourage your teams to be responsible, engaged and creative. Let’s not forget and always apply the four-pronged test: 1. Is this the truth? 2. Is it fair to everyone it affects?

3. Will it create goodwill and better friendships? 4. Will it benefit everyone it affects? To be more successful and better people to help ourselves and our communities. Because Goodness is a choice, and the choices we make determine who we are today and where we will be tomorrow. At PETS in Hisarya, we presented the strategic priorities of our District—by 2027, Rotary Bulgaria should be a community of: • LIFE CLUBS dedicated to the enduring Rotary values of service; • INNOVATIVE LEADERS at all levels, stimulating clubs in implementing their goals, projects and initiatives; • CREATIVE PEOPLE OF ACTION of all ages working together to inspire causes and promote them in the community; • Professionals who together with fellow Rotarians from around the world BUILD NETWORKS and exchange ideas to solve significant world problems. Let’s actively work to achieve these goals, starting this year, this month and day, to be the change for the better in the years to come. We have a duty to our children, the younger generation and society. I am convinced that this will be a year when TOGETHER we will “REINVENT ROTARY” and make our and more people’s DREAMS come true! Most of you know that music was a part of my life years ago, but it has remained and will always be a part of my soul, so I will allow myself to end each letter with a lyric from one of my favorite songs. This month is: One Moment in Time Each day I live, I want to be A day to give, The best of me I’m only one, But not alone My finest day, Is yet unknown! “REINVENT ROTARY”
