“My question isn’t How many meetings did you make, It’s How are you making a difference in the community” John Germ, President of RI Dear friends, Rotary is friendship and shared values. In this increasingly complex world, Rotary meets one of the basic needs of the people - of friendship and mutual assistance. Here we are in Rotary. What is the sense of being here, if we are not friends? Each one of us is representative of their vocation and our club projects will remain just boring activities if friendship does not warm us while implementing them. In every club, in every country, among all peoples, Rotary is a provider of friendship - selfless, helpful, built upon the trust between us, built upon the faith in the good and noble impulses and aspirations of man. Let each of us turn to his/her mind and heart and seek the answer to the following questions: Do I know Rotary enough? What is Rotary for me – mission, vocation, necessity? What can I do to Rotary and why didn’t I do it by now? During this Rotary year, I visited all the 88 Rotary clubs in the District. Everywhere I met friendship, energy and smile. They work and there is motivation, goodwill, zeal and willingness to change. Rotarians in the clubs: through friendship, engagement and responsibility unite, serve and practice sports. For them less is more and they keep the achieved, reviving values and finding new friends, and through their actions they guarantee stability and growth, in order for them to go on strong and united with friendly meetings and good image. They prove themselves through service, while working and having fun with a look turned toward the young, keeping the past and giving chance to the future. According to them, education of our children is our obligation. The Rotary clubs in the District through tradition and continuity build their sustainability and progress serving for a better and healthy world. On 3 of June 2017 in the city of Sofia, the official charter ceremony will be held on the occasion of: Friendship proven in time, Friendship that united a group of young people serving the community, Friendship having a new name – Rotary club of Sofia - Triaditsa. The motto of the ceremony is „We see the world through Rotary“. From 10 to 14 of June 2017 in Atlanta, USA, the RI Convention will be held, and it will be the culmination of the celebrations of the Centennial of the Rotary Foundation. 32 Rotarians from our District have confirmed their attendance. On 24 of June 2017 in the town of Bourgas, we shall celebrate 80 years of service above self together with the members, families, friends and official guests of the three Rotary clubs of Bourgas. Let us share this celebration. Friends, This Rotary year, we implemented significant service projects in the communities we live in and made numerous contacts and friendships. For me, this was a year expectedly unexpected, calmly shaking, which under normal circumstances will never happen again. I believe that with the power and capacity we have, we shall continue to diligently serve the community with our aim: to make the world better. Rotary is an organization of friendship and mutual assistance and I believe that it is worthy our time, efforts, energy and resources. Let us take this wonderful opportunity to serve our community, our town, Bulgaria and the world! For me and my team, it was an honor to be part of your service! Thank you! You can say that I’m a dreamer. But I’m not the only one. I hope one day you’ll join us.
