Self-Access Learning Center ————————— Chulalongkorn University Language InstituteVol. 79Aug.—Sept. 2017 SปAหสรทกLรปิญนรCลอื ีกใพัญจบัดาดยเมูภรปากาา้ศาาบน็อ่กนพพกึตัยปนรภยบษินรรสอานกาใะดษ่ืนานจใันตรหีตาเอารรอสมอ้กกีาอ์แนกีค่นนัพไลมังเะ่รคทูดะก(่กซับคศ่ะคฤหเ่ีรีดนดิใยุษลหย่ี อืิสถกงัมก์ นติงึหจันๆ่็ไกดาใรกหทกนัเ้ือลมชมป่ไีมจดนบ่ัาแ่ ดิะากม้ลรกมกเมุ่นทะานั ากนเอาพจพข)สิยมา้า้ที่ักติไรSไวกี่ผปร่วA้สา่อนมนุ่LลานาCพกหังนอจิจเ่ีรข่าใไกะบันดา้นรรทสทเ้ับตมรกุู่สี่ รงัมคดุ งียในนกะมทไ็ ด่ี ้ นสิ ติ แนะนาตวั ครบั ช่ือ ธนพล เตชะเสน (ปาลม์ ) อยคู่ ณะ วศิ วกรรมศาสตร์ ภาควิชา วศิ วกรรมเครอ่ื งกล ครบั ชอบกจิ กรรมอะไรของ SALC เป็นพเิ ศษบางครับ ชอบกิจกรรม conversation hour ครับเพราะเปน็ การฝกึ สนทนาทงั้ พูดและฟัง เปน็ ภาษาอังกฤษ และมกี ารแลกเปลย่ี นประสบการณ์ และความคิดเห็นกัน เป็นกิจกรรมท่คี ่อนข้าง สบายมาก แม้ไม่เก่งอังกฤษก็สามารถเข้าร่วมได้อย่างไม่กดดันดคี รบั ประโยชนก์ ารมาท่ี SALC เป็นการฝึกการใชภ้ าษาอังกฤษในชีวติ ประจาวัน เพราะปกตไิ ม่ค่อยมีโอกาสไดส้ อื่ สารเป็น ภาษาอังกฤษบ่อยนัก เน่ืองจากปกติก็คยุ กบั เพ่อื นเปน็ ภาษาไทย ท่เี ป็นภาษาอังกฤษกม็ ีแค่ หนังสอื เรียนท่ใี ช้เท่านั้น การมาท่นี ีจ่ ึงช่วยลดความตน่ื เต้นเวลาต้องคยุ กับชาวต่างชาติลง และ เพ่มิ ความม่นั ใจให้มากข้นึ ครบั คิดวา่ ภาษาองั กฤษจาเป็นตอ่ การทางานในอนาคตอย่างไรครบั เมื่อก่อนผมพยายามหลกี เลี่ยงการใช้ แต่พอเรียนมาจนปี 4 แล้วไปฝึกงานด้วยเลยพบว่า คงเป็นไปไมไ่ ด้ หลังจากการไปฝึกงานช่วงปี 3 มา ตอนน้ี ผมคดิ ว่ามันเปน็ “minimum requirement” ของการทางานหรือการเรยี นต่อในอนาคต (ต่อหนา้ ถดั ไป)

มคี วามม่ันใจในการใช้ภาษาอังกฤษอย่างไรบา้ งครบั เมอ่ื ก่อนกลัวว่าจะฟัง หรอื พูดไม่รูเ้ รื่อง แต่ตอนนี้มนั่ ใจข้ึนมากพอสมควรแล้ว เพราะว่าพยายามฝึกมากขนึ้อยากแนะนาอะไรถงึ เพอ่ื นๆนสิ ติ ท่ีสนใจอยากเกง่ ภาษาอังกฤษบ้างครับ ฝกึ ครบั ฝกึ เทา่ นัน้ ฟังเพลงหรืออ่านอะไรก็ไดท้ ตี่ นเองชอบหรือสนใจเป็นภาษาอังกฤษครับช่วงแรกๆจะเหมือนพยายามเทา่ ไรก็ไม่พฒั นา แต่รู้ตัวอกี ทีเราก็ฟงั หรอื พูดภาษาอังกฤษเก่งข้นึ แลว้ today โดย ผศ. ชลาธปิ ชาญชัยฤกษ์ มคี าสแลงหลายคาทใ่ี ชเ้ รยี กคนทม่ี พี ฤตกิ รรมและลกั ษณะนสิ ยั ตา่ ง ๆ ทงั้ ทด่ี แี ละไมด่ ี มาดตู วั อยา่ งกนั คะ่ Doormat หมายถึง คนทยี่ อมตกเปน็ เบย้ี ลา่ งของผอู้ นื่ หรอื ยอมใหผ้ อู้ น่ื เหยยี บยา่ เหมอื นพรมเชด็ เทา้ - I think it’s time you stop letting your friends treat you like a doormat. ฉันวา่ ถงึ เวลาทีค่ ณุ ควรจะเลิกยอมเปน็ เบี้ยลา่ งของเพ่ือน ๆ คุณไดแ้ ล้ว Sucker หมายถงึ คนทเ่ี ชอื่ งา่ ย ถกู หลอกงา่ ย - Dan: I’m dating Emily, the hottest girl in school. แดน: ฉนั กาลังคบกบั เอมิลี สาวฮอ็ ตทีส่ ุดในโรงเรยี น - Eric: Awesome! Learn a new word every day Choose a word you would like to work on and use practice it in different sentences.Use the word until you have learnt it and keep using it regularly. Watch films Watch movies in English and pay attention to new vocabulary and pronunciation.Imitate the actors and have fun with it. Make friends Make friends with English speakers or others learning to speak English and comparenotes. Do interesting activities in English Take a cooking course in English or join a book club! Anything you enjoy doing, make sure you do it and communicate it in English. Using English to talk about things you enjoy will make practising a positive experience. Have a debate Debate all the topics that interest you with friends in English. Try to use as much vo- cabulary as you can to get your point across and listen to the other arguments carefully so you can argue against them effectively. Use a dictionary Online dictionaries often have audio examples so you can check your pronunciation and there are lots of great dictionary apps that you can take everywhere with you on your smartphone. Make sure not to become too reliant on these tools, though. Have a go at saying the words first then check afterwards to see if you were right!
